Fun! Oh, and about your quest for vodka: I was surprised to learn (just a couple of days ago) that The New York Times rated Costco’s vodka “Kirkland American” as the best overall vodka. This really surprised me. They said it was good quality - very smooth - and an excellent price. So you may want to pick it up next time! 😉

All the prices shown are greater (some, much greater) than the prices of the same items sold at our local Costco (in my case, Las Vegas): Kirkland Vodka 1.75 liter is $20.99 and same size Grey Goose is $42

I was tempted by that pecan pie today at one of the two Colorado Springs Costco locations. I didn't buy it because I would eat it much too fast, but it sure looked good. It was $15.99 USD, or 15.05 euros, so very similar price as Paris.

The Kirkland vodka has a similar taste to Grey Goose as it is distilled in the same region of France.
Costco's Kirkland Signature French vodka is crafted by Gayant Distillery of Douai, France. Distributor company LeVecke Corporation. It is a very nice vodka and not a bad price. Sante! 🍸

Oh my, I LOVE Sortilege liqueur and it is very hard to get in Texas. I’ve not heard of maple flavored Canadian Whisky though. Bad news is that our Costco only has beer and wine. I wish……….! I always enjoy your Paris Costco trips. We were just in Paris and it would have been fun to go there to look around.

I live and breath Costco! You can always trust them to have the best price. If you're doing anything but drinking it, you can get the cheap stuff. No Alligot or Tartiflette here at the Costo in Washington D.C. Those chocolate truffles are to die for.

I must ask. I bought a bottle of Kirkland rhone for 8 bucks in Las Vegas. Absolutely a gorgeous wine! Does your costco have California wines? 😂 . Kirkland does bottle a batch of California wines.

I make vanilla extract from bourbon, starting a new batch each year. That way, I'm always cooking from extract that has been extracting for at least a year.
When making extracts with alcohols, vodka extracts fastest, then run, then bourbon. Bourbon has the richest, most mellow flavor.

Some of the food items were cheaper than what Costco charges here in N Y C. But yeah, lots of super overpriced Holiday items. That fake tree was pathetic at any price. We have dedicated hobby and home stores that have great Christmas stuff for muc, much less and better quality. Do the French decorate their homes at Christmas like many of us Americans do? Love these shopping trips. Would be very interested to know cost of renting the car. Fun trip.

Hello. Just found your channel. Interesting how huge the Costco is. Where is it located?
Buffalo Trace is excellent bourbon and at 23€ a great price.
Curious though, I follow many channels featuring a US woman married to or partnered with a French man but I haven’t found any featuring a US man with a French woman. Any insight on this would be appreciated. Merci.

I thought Costco was cheaper. We don’t have one near me. But I have been with my daughter and son in law. We belong to Sam’s club. Which I’m sure they don’t have in Paris. Since it’s like a huge Walmart. I have been there with my daughter too. We live in a different state. And I have bought things online. But I’ve never been in a store here. And there’s one in the next city over from us. Someday I will go inside. But I,would rather shop online and not deal with the crowds around here.

Christmas in France is much more low key (like everyhting else) than what' in the US. It's the biggest holiday in france, but you won't see many lights out, or people decorating too much. Some people will though. It depends. But there's no eggnog :( Christmas'Eve is when people eat a lot so they'll buy lots of food mostly sea food, foie gras (the best thing ever IMO), turkey and so forth. It depens on each family. It's still pretty commercial, and the pressure is on for buying gifts.

Didn't Jean tell you that all Black Friday "sales" are fake in France? Outside of the soldes in Jan/July, any sale is just artificially increasing the price to make it look like a discount. Costco in general is not the place to get cheap things, it's where you go for higher-end things at the distributer price.

I love this video. I always buy the dozen croissants for $7 and freeze most of them. I’m sure they’re not as good as you get, but to me, I’m happy. I recently bought a cordless vacuum. If you can imagine loving a vacuum, I love it. The reason I would buy from Costco over some place else… I flattened the box it came in, taped the receipt to the inside and put it in a closet. Not sure it’s necessary. I can return the vacuum cleaner to Costco and get my money back forever. From another store, 30 days and it cannot be returned. Thanks for sharing your shopping trip.

You seemed to be attracted to many of the high sugar products at Costco. Hope you have been able to maintain your weight loss.
I live alone, so I can’t justify a Costco membership. Fortunately, you can use the food court without a membership. The prices make the food easier to digest, for me.
