Happy New Year from Massachusetts, USA. I can totally relate to seasonal depression, even more so the older i get. I feel like the month of January has felt never ending. Thank you for sharing.❤
Costco there have American peanut butter or brown sugar?
The Dutch are direct and honest, also in their smiles. If there is no good reason to smile, we don't smile. If we know you and you smile, we smile back. It is so simple. No second guessing in the words, or facial expressions. All genuine. So, if you have a professional relationship, f.e. renting a bike or ordering a meal, a Dutch person behaves professionally. Simple as that.
Amsterdam is great however, Rotterdam, the Hague, Utrecht, Haarlem, Groningen, Nijmegen, Maastricht, Deventer, Amersfoort all really nice places worth a visit too. Not looking for cities/towns? We have wonderful beaches, lakes, forests ,small villages as well, perfectly suited for a extended bicycle adventure on the best/safest bike infrastructure/network in the world. 🇳🇱❤️🇳🇱
Paris travel consultant! Love it!! He's been open for 300 years! haha
Happy new year Arielle and Jean. Hope I spelled his name right. Fun video. 😀☃️☃️
love the new Poddy, and that couch colour and style is to die for! loved this episode, was nice to have girl time with Arielle :)
This is a hormonal flux/shift that happens and completely normal. Try having a bit of protein (15grams, a hardboiled egg, small piece of chicken breast e.g.) when you wake up in the morning to balance out the cortisol spike (it happens on waking), have the protein within 30 minute of waking. Also consider taking a vitamin D supplement during the winter months. This has been backed up by nutrition studies and I have found it to work quickly. I just want to share a more effective technique for rolling out dough so it does not stick; as you roll it out, lift it off the board and flip it over, continue to lightly dust if needed on the board. When you have the diameter you want, place the rolling pin near and edge and fold the dough over the rolling pin, continue until the dough is "rolled" onto the pin, then hold the pin over the other piece (or pie pan, this works for all galettes, pies, etc.) and and unroll over it starting at an edge. This keeps the shape, preventing stretching or tearing.
Know how 🤗 Thank you so much ✨💕✨💕✨💕
As a fellow Torontonian, I’m going through SAD too. Vitamin D helps. Try it. :)
You bring me back to Paris which I haven’t visited in awhile. May I make a suggestion from a neat freak? Perhaps you could get some baskets for the top of your kitchen cabinets to hide all your overflow. Maybe it is the neat freak in me but I find it distracting when you are filming in the kitchen. Just a suggestion. Please don’t take offense🤗
I agree with you about taxes. Living in the UK, we pay high taxes too. But I like paying taxes because I don’t like crime and taxes mean less violent crime on our streets. Whether that is through programmes which stop people from entering crime or ensuring there is prisons to house criminals or the justice system is funded to ensure criminals a sentenced or rehabilitation for criminals leaving prison. All this costs money and if taxes are making the streets safer, I’m all for it. Then there is the health system. Whats the point of me being well if everyone around me is sick and cannot afford basic medical treatment. Then there is clean streets, I want the street I’m walking down to not look like a landfill. All of this costs money and taxes are the fairest way to do it.
As a Gen Xer, I have spent 30 years as 9-5, 5 days a week worker (office worker). That study is correct, that you do the same amount of work in 4 days as 5. I now work 4 days and the standard of work is of the same level. I didn’t spend the 5th day sitting my hands before, I mulled over decisions more then I needed to, I had more meetings then I needed to and I created more work then I needed to like unnecessary spreadsheets, complicated filing, duplication. Less days meant efficiency. It’s called Parkinson's Law, which means you give a person a set amount of time to do a task, they will use the whole time. Most of the time they could have done it in less time at the same standard because much of the time they used was being indecisive.
King Cake in the USA has a plastic baby in it and the top has green, white, and purple icing. Very yummy! I enjoy your channel. I hope your hand heals quickly.
The seasonal blahs are real! I spent November and December packing to leave NYC, spent Christmas alone with my cat, then arrived in Switzerland at the end of December. Stuck in culture shock and overwhelmed with French at the moment (my B1 level is ok but I really need to improve). I managed to skate at Rockefeller Center before leaving NYC and it was pretty dangerous as well- they needed to give more people the penguins to push so they’d quit taking other people out! Bryant Park skating is MUCH worse, though. Super dangerous, terrible bumpy ice and dull AF skates. Wishing you a speedy recovery and hoping spring comes early 🥰💕
I had started losing hair when my husband passed away and I also had far too many stressors in my life, with living on my own for the first time ever. I was advised by a nutritionist to simply start taking a very simple Folic Acid supplement, - here where I live it is mere cents for a month's supply. It works like a bomb - about 2 months in, the hairloss stopped. Caution: your nails will also grow like crazy........I continue to take this supplement as it is budget-friendly and has zero side effects. Give it a try, dear Arielle!
Girlllll. I literally cried to my boyfriend last night bc of the seasonal depression. You’re not alone. Paris is so gloomy and life sucking lately 😢
happy new year arielle!! to jean as well!
Maybe you need a mic stand since you do like to cook and talk.
I fractured my radius at the end of October and am going through PT now. Thankfully, it was my non-dominant hand, but you quickly realize how much you rely on it. Wish you a speedy recovery.
Details shopping items varieties in Monoprix. You escaped the main floor that was selling dresses, etc. Please show more.
Please make some french wine shopping video
We were in Versailles and witnessed a woman walking a sheepdog that took a giant poop on the sidewalk we were on AND SHE JUST LEFT IT THERE. She saw our reaction and dared us to comment…we didn’t…anyway…in my mind Versailles means 💩🤷♀️
You have a lovely vibe…we could chat all day🤣…the light shines around you🤗
Love the black top. Great neckline.
I make vanilla extract from bourbon, starting a new batch each year. That way, I'm always cooking from extract that has been extracting for at least a year. When making extracts with alcohols, vodka extracts fastest, then run, then bourbon. Bourbon has the richest, most mellow flavor.
I live and breath Costco! You can always trust them to have the best price. If you're doing anything but drinking it, you can get the cheap stuff. No Alligot or Tartiflette here at the Costo in Washington D.C. Those chocolate truffles are to die for.
Didn't Jean tell you that all Black Friday "sales" are fake in France? Outside of the soldes in Jan/July, any sale is just artificially increasing the price to make it look like a discount. Costco in general is not the place to get cheap things, it's where you go for higher-end things at the distributer price.
I found swimming plugs and used them for Paramore they worked. I did not manage to find earplugs. But then i removed them for Taylor
I must ask. I bought a bottle of Kirkland rhone for 8 bucks in Las Vegas. Absolutely a gorgeous wine! Does your costco have California wines? 😂 . Kirkland does bottle a batch of California wines.
Wish you had looked at the electronic.
Does your US Costco card work in France?
To dry your carbon steel/cast iron cookware, after washing them you can just put it back on the stove (imagine you are preheating your pan to start cooking again) and heat it back up again so that dries. After that you can put a thin coat of oil on the pan (one or two drops worth of cooking oil for the entire cooking surface of the pan)
Plz do more of this videos plzzz❤
1.75L Grey Goose in Virginia $49.99
All the prices shown are greater (some, much greater) than the prices of the same items sold at our local Costco (in my case, Las Vegas): Kirkland Vodka 1.75 liter is $20.99 and same size Grey Goose is $42
I'm in Montreal Canada and those prices are insane when considering the currency exchange
👍
Hi from California. Your baked goods look much better, but those chickens look miniaturized! We definitely need Aligot here.
Forget Costco...."wholesale" sizes, but not prices. We can match or beat their product offers elsewhere without the big sizes.
I think these long podcasts are super nice.
You seem lovely, Arielle. Wish I had a friend like you.
Narcissists will punch you in the face and maintain they love you and it is for your own good.
Knowing that most people don't have the kind of storage that many in the US do, I am always curious about who buys what in Paris and in other parts of Europe. There are only two of us, but I can still stock up at Costco when the price is right. I have the freezer in my fridge in the kitchen, another fridge freezer on the laundry room and a chest freezer in the garage. On the last Paris Costco run I watched I saw the Keto crackers i LOVE that I cannot buy here anymore. I always get a Panetone at Costco. Is' so nice with a latte in the afternoon. I just bought another one. They are HUGE and under 10.00. I didn't see any in the Paris store. Those electric fireplaces take a LOT of power. You'd probably blow all the circuits in your building.
I love this video. I always buy the dozen croissants for $7 and freeze most of them. I’m sure they’re not as good as you get, but to me, I’m happy. I recently bought a cordless vacuum. If you can imagine loving a vacuum, I love it. The reason I would buy from Costco over some place else… I flattened the box it came in, taped the receipt to the inside and put it in a closet. Not sure it’s necessary. I can return the vacuum cleaner to Costco and get my money back forever. From another store, 30 days and it cannot be returned. Thanks for sharing your shopping trip.
Costco doesn't really get huge specials.
I found Costco Paris very expensive. It's not the place to buy pâtisserie or quality chocolates. Nice to have a look, of course. Thank you for taking us along.
I have had 30 euro raclette machines. They're good for the landfill.
Maybe you don’t know how to take care of it ☺️ mine was 20€ and I’ve had it for 5 years and it’s in perfect condition 😉
91 isn’t Paris but great video
I was tempted by that pecan pie today at one of the two Colorado Springs Costco locations. I didn't buy it because I would eat it much too fast, but it sure looked good. It was $15.99 USD, or 15.05 euros, so very similar price as Paris. 1
There is no Costco in Paris.
There are 2 Costcos in France, both on the outskirts of Paris
