Get the free pattern at thecrochetcrowd.com/crochet-aran-hearts-throw-stitch-along/ EDIT: I did a SC across the front loops for the front ridge stitch. It should be sl st. My version creates really deep ridge. Either way works but Bonnie's pattern does say to do it as a Sl St. I think you can improvise either way.
Please double check the pattern, for the border, you were to slip stitch the top and bottom but single stitch the 140 on the edges before the woven, not slip stitch all around. Your woven stitch was also not per the written pattern and I had to tear out a lot of work because you didn’t follow the pattern properly. You have not done Bonnie any favors. I know you’re better than this but you rushed and made some big mistakes so please slow down because I love your tutorials but I need to trust that you won’t cause me to have to tear out and fix your mistakes.
Actually I prefer the sc to the sl st for the ridge sections. I have a hard time stitching into a sl st so you showing it as a sc helped me to do this afghan a lot easier. So Thank You!!
Had this on my to-do list for awhile, then i found your clear and brief video. Finished it last night and It came out really great. Its a wedding gift for my daughter and her future husband. Ty so much.
I crocheted this very blanket a couple of years ago for a wedding gift. Lemme tell ya! I miss counted a couple of times and had to pull out a few rows but my persistence paid off. Don't give up, it is a lovely blanket.
thanks for the tutorial..I've been wanting to make it for a couple of years...I prefer your tutorials as you provide tips and less talking and a direct approach.
I love the way it is constructed...working from the sides to make the whole process easier. With the wonderful texture, learning some new stitches, and the beautiful look of it, I am IN!
Thanks for a great tutorial! I just finished this throw. Been wanting to try it for a while, but needed a little more confidence. It took me a little longer than I planned as I played yarn chicken and lost😂😂. Ordered the extra yarn on the 11th received it in the 20th, finished this afternoon 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. I have really only been crocheting for a little over a year, but with your help I learned a lot of new stitches and pushed through 🤗🤗
I've made this, it was my very first crochet project! It's so lovely! I will be doing another one but on a much larger scale as this was quite small even for a throw.
@@vickiderrick6070 I believe if you add multiples of 12 to the foundation chain this will be fine to increase the length. You will need to adjust the width of the panels. Possibly by repeating the arrow/popcorn/arrow/diamond/arrow panels before doing the hearts in the center. Just be sure to do the same on the other side. I've also seen someone do rows of the hearts in between the popcorn panel and the diamond panel, plus the one in the center making it wider by creating 3 panels of hearts. This is a personal preference. Just remember that you will need to increase the amount of yarn you purchase. I did mine in a beautiful purple color and it is beautiful!
The throw in its original pattern is quite small. I will be doing another one more like a large afghan/blanket. Bonnie Bay Crochet has also done very in-depth video tutorials on this Aran Heart Throw. If you have any questions she does respond quickly to comments. As this was my first ever project, she was of great help. She actually asked my permission to post a photo of my finished throw on her Facebook page. 😊

I wonder how many times I will have to undo what I work on if I will try that. I'd or might challenge that by knitting using multiple needles not a single hooker. I've just kind of finished knitting a vest cardigan the other day taking two winters. It's a distorted vest having different lengths of the fronts. I did bad at gauge again and noted wrong for finished rows of stitches multiple times. I just feel having to make something I need and fail using cheap acrylic yarn balls I have gotten recently, which I had wanted to get for more than a decade.
Hey Mikey I think you made a mistake on the woven stitch The 2nd half you just pull through the 2 stitches with the first stitch on your hook. You don't wrap. I think you need to reread that woven stitch pattern . All in all it's a great pattern. I love Bonnies patterns and have done a number of them.
Got about halfway through the diamonds section and stopped. Bobbles were too tight. Diamonds were spreading wide. 😣. Pulled it all out. Giving it one more go. Trying different hook sizes to see if that helps. Working with DK yarn for a baby blanket, so improvising a bit. Here goes…
