    Two corrections: 1- I called the two standard drivers spools while gutting (but got it right during the summary). 2- I called the lock an ASSA Twin, instead of Lockwood Twin at the very end. Sorry about the errors and enjoy the video.

      I have been watching your videos and learning from your demonstrations. I can now pick every lock in my house. That video you made of how you practice really helped me a lot. Thank you for your time to make these videos. I am really feeling like I can finally secure my home now.

    4 spools. a high setting #6 behind #5, a 3 pin sidebar. you make it look easy. super job!

      Thanks. It may have gone quickly, but that was a tough lock. Particularly the standard pins. Precision was as good or better than a Kaba.

    Almost 4 minutes. Alter following your channel for a couple of years I guess this was one of the hardest-to-pick locks. Great work!!

    The difficulty you had with this makes me feel much better about the unopened ASSA Twin 6000 in my Naughty Bin

    Great picking and pins.
    Even the gutting was competent( I can't gut a standard 5 pin lock)
    Congratulations on another wonderful video.
    Happy Thanks giving buddy👍👍😘😘

      Go for it. It's not as bad as I had originally assumed. Out of curiosity, where did you get it? I'd never heard of these until I came across it by chance on eBay.

      +LockPickingLawyer I got it as an extra in a package deal from macgng. No kidding on the tolerances though, I was very supprized to see there are just 4 spools in it O.O

      LockPickingLawyer Lockwood twins are fairly common in Australia through most locksmiths

    Nice work, good to see a Lockwood Twin. Not that common in the field, even here.🍺😁🇦🇺

    Great work on that interesting lock. I could feel your concentration while you picked it - fantastic!
    How did you avoid falling into a false gate of the side bar?

    • @lockpickinglawyer
      @lockpickinglawyer  8 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Thanks... And you are correct about my concentration. I don't know if this is typical for these locks, but the precision on this one is such that you will drop everything with a minor lapse. The side pins can be picked by sound. The difference in real vs false gate clicks is not subtle. It doesn't come across well in the video. Also, I already knew the bitting by the time I shot this video from previous picking attempts. 😏 that certainly helps.

    I would love to see an outtake video of you putting these locks back together! Great channel, I'm really enjoying the videos!

    • @lockpickinglawyer
      @lockpickinglawyer  8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +Rory Rezzelle Thanks for watching... putting them back together is usually not an issue, though some are harder than others. The trickiest job is usually with euro profile cylinders, where you have to assemble two different locks from two different directions in addition to getting the cam mechanism correct. You need a few specialized tools for that, and for the more complex locks (like the X11 with pins from 3 directions, some shims are helpful). I'll consider making a video on assembling euro cylinders.

    • @RoryRezzelle
      @RoryRezzelle 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! I just imagine a lot more cursing when putting them back together than when trying to open them.

      +LockPickingLawyer euros...... The freaking cam mecanisism is a bitch to Get corectly!!! I have a bks that I locked one position out by accident... Need to be picked!!!

    • @lockpickinglawyer
      @lockpickinglawyer  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hugo Martel I've definitely done that before. Cursing and lock throwing ensues. On all but a few locks, I cut them in half to send to other pickers, so I don't worry about that anymore.

    I'm hearing more and more about these locks, Assa-Abloy high-end locks made under their Lockwood brand. I wouldn't mind dropping one in my "Rock" but my mouth-watering MT5+ is in transit! When LPL says the Lockwood is "...not one of the easier locks to open..." then 💥it must be Fort Knox not Fort Marsh Mallow! Great ad for Lockwood! LPL as _the_ Padlockian celeb should really be on royalty commissions...a nice little earner! 🤔😊😎

    I think I want this lock for my house... Took you 2 minutes to get in, that's gotta be almost a record for a non challenge lock.

    Looks like the sidebar system is a copy of the assa twin 6000 except it has 3 instead of 5 sidepins.

  • @DavidShepheard
    @DavidShepheard 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I thought those side pins were identical, at first, but they were all different. How are you supposed to assemble those things, without all the pins falling out? Do people who make these use a D-shaped half-cylinder cut out to hold in the bottom of the cylinder, while they work on the top?

    This is an amazing freaking lock. Fantastic job on the picking, man. You know that lock like the back of your hand. I learn a ton from watching your videos. Thanks for being so thorough in your narration. I want to try to find one of these now.
    I do have one question. what is the thickness on that wrench? It looks pretty substantial. I have just placed an order for .040 and .050 Peterson's, and wondering if you had used a .050 in your video?
    Thanks man, Happy Thanksgiving!!

    • @lockpickinglawyer
      @lockpickinglawyer  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks. I'm glad you like them and take something away. Since I learned by watching YT, I glad to be contributing to the body of material that got me started. And yes, that was the .050" prybar that I used in this video.

    Great pick, silly question but how would you get a key for that or for the 'v' lock in your other vid
