I just noticed something while watching this for probably the millionth time - In "Requiem", Zoe angrily sings that "No one lights a candle to remember." But in this animatic, she holds a lit candle up to her face and starts sobbing as she imagines Connor's ghost in front of her.
I just noticed!!! Alana: “Connor’s everywhere.” Jared: “Your speech is everywhere.” They said it nearly at the same time. But I like the little hint that Jared isn’t pretending at the level of believing it like everyone else.
I actually feel bad for Connor cause imagine if he could see everything that’s happening he would see his parents getting a someone who actually listens to them and acts as a good son he would see his sister getting a boyfriend that’s love her he would see how everyone is happy and better without him he would see how in reality he didn’t matter cause the Connor everyone thinks and remembers with love is not the real Connor is the Connor that Evan created the real Connor got forgotten and replace by an ilusión of himself created by someone else

Could you imagine not only the pain of Zoe realizing that she ignored someone who she truly loved the whole time, and didn’t get to show him anymore, but also Connor watching powerlessly as the tragedy of the song “If I Could Tell Her” kicks in? The face Connor makes in this animatic kills me. Every. Time.
@ 3:49, a bunch of people raise their hand. I find this specific moment inspiring for one reason. Each hand is different. There is the one with the bracelet, the one with the tattoo, the one on a t-shirt, the one in a sweatshirt and what caught my eye right away, the arm with scars. This is SO important because no matter who you are and what you are facing there is always someone who wants to love you if you reach out your hand. Like if you found this moment as inspiring as I did

I actually got to see the musical on Broadway and the part that made me cry the most, was the moment in You'll be found, when Conners dad breaks down. He hold himself up over the whole show but at that moment he just falls down and cries and that's okay.

Music carries the exact message than words can not. It has a powerful for it to stay in your subconscious, that's why you sometimes can't get songs out if your head, because of that reason.
Got to be honest, the first time I heard this song I thought, "This is some corny crap right here why does everyone like it so much?" But then I watched this animatic and tried to really listen to the words, the melody, and the message, and I have to tell you, I finally appreciate the song.
I also think it's important to note that this is the act one closer of the show. When I first heard it I assumed it was the finale and thought it was a nice sentiment to end on, but a little corny. Then you hear it in the full context of the show and realize that Evan barely believes what he's singing here and so much of this community he worked to build comes crashing down around him and it becomes much more emotional. Idk, that's my two cents.
I love how the song revolves around the phrase “you will be found” like that’s what Evan wanted. And then in For Forever, Evan imagined that he was not alone. That just made the line “you are not alone” hit deeper for me.

I adore the way you drew Jared and Evan. Despite Jared’s insults he genuinely does care about Evan and you represented that beautifully. Also when Jared grabbed Evans hand it gave me the feels. Absolutely incredible.

I love how you made Jared look much more like a real friend towards Evan. In my opinion, even though he was often sarcastic and kept some distance, he really wanted to be friends with him, but because Evan was afraid to open up to anybody, Jared didn't recognise his needs. Tbh the part, when Jared says that he only spends time with Evan because he wants to get money for his car insurance sounds either like a joke or a really bad excuse. And the fact that he helped a lot with the Connor project or just that he kept his mouth shut about Evan's lie also must mean something.

I have no idea why, of all places, I've decided to vent on a TH-cam video of some DEH animatic, but here I am. No one will probably see this anyway, but it still helps. Anyway, a little back story to my life. I'm just some average girl, the chubby one that sits in the corner and doesn't usually talk much, but can be chatty at times. I suppose some people like me, and I *do* have friends (just one really close one, but yeah). Still I struggle a lot with weight and self esteem, and I do have depression. Regardless, my family is loving, but we do have our problems. I have issues with my agression, and sometimes (a lot of times, actually) I yell at my mom. My mom is currently struggling with self esteem and constantly feels suicidal thoughts, and I know I only make life harder for her. We used to be so close, *I* used to be such a nice kid who'd listen to her problems. But now I'm always depending on her, yelling at her, and just thinking everything will be okay. But it isn't. My actions are *killing* her, literally. Physically, and mentally. So I'm not the victim, but the villain. And yet I still cry myself to sleep every other night feeling sorry for myself when I have no right to be upset. *I'm the villain* ... Right? *I'm* the one who's hurting this poor woman who's just the sweetest mom in the world. So why am I crying? Why do I feel as if I deserve love? Wow, okay, that's a lot. Probably shouldn't be sharing my life story with a bunch of strangers online, but again... This'll just get lost in the sea of comments. Here goes nothing...
Okay I know this is late like as hell but what you’re going through.. You can still fix this (or at least I hope so idk, it’s been 10 months). Everyone has their own problems and as your mother I’m sure she can understand this. I think all a parent wants is their kid to be happy, and even if you see yourself as a villain I doubt she does. Because you two are both struggling through something very difficult. If you are aware that you treat her poorly then I really hope that you can will yourself to be kinder to her. It doesn’t need to be an overnight change, but just small things can let her know that she’s appreciated. Cooking her breakfast, doing extra chores or even just talking to her. And it’s hard to say sorry, especially when you’re hurting too, but just owning up to the fact helps, it really does. I hope you’ve been doing better, and if not then that’s okay. Take you’re time. But try to show your mom you know and you’re trying to get better.
Life isn’t black and white, there is no hero’s and villains. Both you and your mom are victims. No one is the villain here. Talk to your school counseled, I’m sure they could help.

(You've probably heard this a lot of times,,, sorry I'm really bad at talking to people.) You aren't the villain, she's not the villain. You're both struggling in your own way. Despite what you think, you're probably brightening her life a whole lot more then you may know. You do deserve love. Every person argues. I argue with my mom a lot as well. You shouldn't feel like you don't deserve love. I know people with depression struggle with feeling deserving of love (I have depression, and I don't really practice what I'm preaching here) but you do deserve love. Even if you're mom feels hurt by you sometimes you shouldn't let it cut you down. You're crying because you feel guilty, and not deserving of love, but in reality, you really don't need to cry. Your mom loves you more than you could ever know, even if you do feel distant. *It's ok to cry.* You feel like you deserve love because you do!!! You are loved!!! Even when you don't feel like it, you are loved!!! You have a right to feel upset. If anyone was in this position you're in, they'd feel upset. Anyone who's in a position that's not ideal is upset, and that's ok. Don't let your mistakes control your life! Seek counseling if you want to/need to. And remember, you are loved. You will be found.

Okay, I might need a minute. Let me try and vocalise my thoughts. This is one of my favourite songs, I love it so much ever since I first listened to it. When I first saw the thumbnail, I’ll be completely honest, it didn’t look amazingly interesting. But I decided to watch it anyway, and I’m glad I did. There are so many small details about this animatic that just make it so much better. Michael and Jeremy being in the crowd, the idea of all of the faces surrounding them and then joining the three. Surrounding them and holding hands, showing support. The idea of all of those hands being different when they’re raised into the air. When Zoe held the candle and started crying along with the music was so powerful. Your art style is so good for this animatic, it’s very simplistic but is so cute and fitting. You can easily tell who each character is and they don’t all have the same face like some animators. The ending frame is so cute, and all of the other people lifting him up. Something I forgot to mention, but at the beginning, when the lyric says “like you could fall, and no one would hear.” it zooms in on Jared. It’s like he’s realising the truth about how Evan fell from the tree. And Connor joining at the end was so sad, I’m getting emotional. Help I think that’s everything, but honestly I really enjoyed this animatic more than I thought I would. Well done 😁😄

Unfortunately, it's confirmed in-show that Heathers takes place in Sherwood, Ohio. However, in For Forever Evan mentions the ice cream store A La Mode, which only has stores in New York and New Jersey. BMC takes place in New Jersey, so it's entirely possible that BMC and DEH both take place in the same school. Not only that, the BMC characters (minus the adults) are all juniors, while the DEH characters (again, minus the adults) are all seniors, so theoretically, they could have even happened during the same year, since senior drama is unlikely to become junior drama and vice-versa unless people from both grades are involved, and both Jeremy and Evan especially would be too wrapped up in their own drama to care about the drama of some random kids in the grade above/below them.
I love the small easter eggs like Heather McNamara, Heather Duke and Martha, Michael, Christine and Jeremy, and even the Phantom Thieves gave me a giggle Love this animatic
Honestly, this song hit me really hard. At times I feel lonely, and kinda unappreciated, and even in 2:53, with all those voices I felt overwhelmed. But just the general meaning, the melody, and the diversity in all those characters you've drawn, showing that no matter who you are you are not alone. There will always be someone there, even if you haven't met them yet you will.
Honestly this entire play just gets to me. I don't know if I have depression and anxiety but I think I might. These songs make me cry and feel like I am not alone. Thank you for putting so much effort into this because it probably the closest I will get to watch the real show.

I never cry at videos. I haven’t cried for about 4 years at films, although when I was younger I used to blubber if I heard a child cry in the background. I see people write in comment sections at fairly unemotional videos writing ‘I’m in tears’ and ‘I can’t stop crying’ and I’m usually very skeptical about it, thinking ‘Really? This made you cry?’ However this video, congrats (I think?) to you, you made me cry. This isn’t even one of my favourite ‘Dear Evan Hansen’ songs but just seeing Evan surrounded by screens and then people, coming together, showing we are not alone, made me very emotional. Thank you, Evan Hansen.

I was visiting my cousin's grave and I overheard a boy my age singing this while leaning against a tree near a stone cross. I hid behind the tree and listened to him and I noticed the tears in his eyes. I stared singing with him but he didn't notice. And when he did, I was up to the first " You are not alone". He looked at me and saw me walking towards my cousin's grave. He must've followed me cause he started singing again, louder this time. I remembered how much my cousin loved singing to me even though people said it made him weak. I started to cry myself and I got on my knees on the grass. The boy sat next to me and gave me a hug. Okay first of all every part of this is fantastic. I love the way both Alana and Jared are drawn in this, the goosebumps I got when they pulled Evan up that path of light at 4:14, LOVE LOVE LOVE the cathartic shot of Zoe *finally* breaking down and grieving for Connor at 5:01, but weirdly my favorite part might be the front row of the audience 1:47? Like it's such an understated shot but it blows me away how much human emotion you conveyed with with a few pencil marks. We knew *exactly* what each person in that row was feeling and not a single one of them had eyeballs or noses or even a whole mouth lol. It's so wild how complex human emotions can be condensed like that. Have been binge-watching this on loop for like two days. Incredible work. I'm glad this got the views it deserved.

I also think it's important to note that this is the act one closer of the show. When I first heard it I assumed it was the finale and thought it was a nice sentiment to end on, but a little corny. Then you hear it in the full context of the show and realize that Evan barely believes what he's singing here and so much of this community he worked to build comes crashing down around him and it becomes much more emotional. I love how you made Jared look much more like a real friend towards Evan. In my opinion, even though he was often sarcastic and kept some distance, he really wanted to be friends with him, but because Evan was afraid to open up to anybody, Jared didn't recognise his needs. Tbh the part, when Jared says that he only spends time with Evan because he wants to get money for his car insurance sounds either like a joke or a really bad excuse. And the fact that he helped a lot with the Connor project or just that he kept his mouth shut about Evan's lie also must mean something.

I have no idea why, of all places, I've decided to vent on a TH-cam video of some DEH animatic, but here I am. No one will probably see this anyway, but it still helps.
Anyway, a little back story to my life. I'm just some average girl, the chubby one that sits in the corner and doesn't usually talk much, but can be chatty at times. I suppose some people like me, and I *do* have friends (just one really close one, but yeah). Still I struggle a lot with weight and self esteem, and I do have depression. Regardless, my family is loving, but we do have our problems. I have issues with my agression, and sometimes (a lot of times, actually) I yell at my mom. My mom is currently struggling with self esteem and constantly feels suicidal thoughts, and I know I only make life harder for her. We used to be so close, *I* used to be such a nice kid who'd listen to her problems. But now I'm always depending on her, yelling at her, and just thinking everything will be okay. But it isn't. My actions are *killing* her, literally. Physically, and mentally. So I'm not the victim, but the villain. And yet I still cry myself to sleep every other night feeling sorry for myself when I have no right to be upset. *I'm the villain* ... Right? *I'm* the one who's hurting this poor woman who's just the sweetest mom in the world. So why am I crying? Why do I feel as if I deserve love?
Wow, okay, that's a lot. Probably shouldn't be sharing my life story with a bunch of strangers online, but again... This'll just get lost in the sea of comments. Here goes nothing...

Okay I know this is late like as hell but what you’re going through.. You can still fix this (or at least I hope so idk, it’s been 10 months). Everyone has their own problems and as your mother I’m sure she can understand this. I think all a parent wants is their kid to be happy, and even if you see yourself as a villain I doubt she does. Because you two are both struggling through something very difficult. If you are aware that you treat her poorly then I really hope that you can will yourself to be kinder to her. It doesn’t need to be an overnight change, but just small things can let her know that she’s appreciated. Cooking her breakfast, doing extra chores or even just talking to her. And it’s hard to say sorry, especially when you’re hurting too, but just owning up to the fact helps, it really does.
I hope you’ve been doing better, and if not then that’s okay. Take you’re time. But try to show your mom you know and you’re trying to get better.
Life isn’t black and white, there is no hero’s and villains. Both you and your mom are victims. No one is the villain here. Talk to your school counseled, I’m sure they could help.

I totally understand wanting to vent. One thing that's important for you to understand is it's not *just* your fault. (You've probably heard this a lot of times,,, sorry I'm really bad at talking to people.) You aren't the villain, she's not the villain. You're both struggling in your own way. Despite what you think, you're probably brightening her life a whole lot more then you may know.
You do deserve love. Every person argues. I argue with my mom a lot as well. You shouldn't feel like you don't deserve love. I know people with depression struggle with feeling deserving of love (I have depression, and I don't really practice what I'm preaching here) but you do deserve love. Even if you're mom feels hurt by you sometimes you shouldn't let it cut you down. You're crying because you feel guilty, and not deserving of love, but in reality, you really don't need to cry. Your mom loves you more than you could ever know, even if you do feel distant. *It's ok to cry.* You feel like you deserve love because you do!!! You are loved!!! Even when you don't feel like it, you are loved!!!
You have a right to feel upset. If anyone was in this position you're in, they'd feel upset. Anyone who's in a position that's not ideal is upset, and that's ok. Don't let your mistakes control your life! Seek counseling if you want to/need to.
And remember, you are loved. You will be found.

I had to pause around 3:30 because I started crying when I saw all the different characters holding hands because I literally couldn't see through my tears. Seeing all these characters together and is wonderful. This is truly a unique animatic, I love it.

Okay, I might need a minute. Let me try and vocalise my thoughts.
This is one of my favourite songs, I love it so much ever since I first listened to it. When I first saw the thumbnail, I’ll be completely honest, it didn’t look amazingly interesting. But I decided to watch it anyway, and I’m glad I did. There are so many small details about this animatic that just make it so much better. Michael and Jeremy being in the crowd, the idea of all of the faces surrounding them and then joining the three. Surrounding them and holding hands, showing support. The idea of all of those hands being different when they’re raised into the air. When Zoe held the candle and started crying along with the music was so powerful. Your art style is so good for this animatic, it’s very simplistic but is so cute and fitting. You can easily tell who each character is and they don’t all have the same face like some animators. The ending frame is so cute, and all of the other people lifting him up.
Something I forgot to mention, but at the beginning, when the lyric says “like you could fall, and no one would hear.” it zooms in on Jared. It’s like he’s realising the truth about how Evan fell from the tree. And Connor joining at the end was so sad, I’m getting emotional. Help

Unfortunately, it's confirmed in-show that Heathers takes place in Sherwood, Ohio. However, in For Forever Evan mentions the ice cream store A La Mode, which only has stores in New York and New Jersey. BMC takes place in New Jersey, so it's entirely possible that BMC and DEH both take place in the same school. Not only that, the BMC characters (minus the adults) are all juniors, while the DEH characters (again, minus the adults) are all seniors, so theoretically, they could have even happened during the same year, since senior drama is unlikely to become junior drama and vice-versa unless people from both grades are involved, and both Jeremy and Evan especially would be too wrapped up in their own drama to care about the drama of some random kids in the grade above/below them.

Honestly, this song hit me really hard. At times I feel lonely, and kinda unappreciated, and even in 2:53, with all those voices I felt overwhelmed. But just the general meaning, the melody, and the diversity in all those characters you've drawn, showing that no matter who you are you are not alone. There will always be someone there, even if you haven't met them yet you will.
Honestly this entire play just gets to me. I don't know if I have depression and anxiety but I think I might. These songs make me cry and feel like I am not alone. Thank you for putting so much effort into this because it probably the closest I will get to watch the real show.

I never cry at videos. I haven’t cried for about 4 years at films, although when I was younger I used to blubber if I heard a child cry in the background. I see people write in comment sections at fairly unemotional videos writing ‘I’m in tears’ and ‘I can’t stop crying’ and I’m usually very skeptical about it, thinking ‘Really? This made you cry?’
However this video, congrats (I think?) to you, you made me cry. This isn’t even one of my favourite ‘Dear Evan Hansen’ songs but just seeing Evan surrounded by screens and then people, coming together, showing we are not alone, made me very emotional.

I hid behind the tree and listened to him and I noticed the tears in his eyes. I stared singing with him but he didn't notice. And when he did, I was up to the first " You are not alone". He looked at me and saw me walking towards my cousin's grave. He must've followed me cause he started singing again, louder this time. I remembered how much my cousin loved singing to me even though people said it made him weak. I started to cry myself and I got on my knees on the grass. The boy sat next to me and gave me a hug. I found out Colt was moving in when he got out of the moving truck. I was babysitting my little brother at the playground near our house. I was teaching my 5th grade friends(I'm in 6th grade) 'Waving Through A Window' when he recognized my voice and followed the sound of it. I got really into it and started tapping on an imaginary window and then waved through it at nothing. He gave me a hug from behind and it startled me so much I actually squeaked like a mouse! Colt laughed and let go. I turned around ready to punch his lights out but when I realized it was him I tackled him and kissed his cheek. "You little weirdo! Next time warn me when you're gonna do something like that!" I tried to sound mad but I couldn't help laughing! "Colt! Mom needs us to help with the boxes!" I heard a girl's voice that sounded a lot like Colt's. "Coming Connie!" He replied to her. "Who's Connie?" I asked him. "Oh my little sister." He said. "By only 32 seconds!" Connie reminded him. This song means so much to me! There was a time where I felt alone and that's when I first discovered DEH. This was my first song and I instantly fell in love with the song and then the musical; It's because the lyrics gave me a little hope of being found. Thank you Evan Hansen
Okay first of all every part of this is fantastic. I love the way both Alana and Jared are drawn in this, the goosebumps I got when they pulled Evan up that path of light at 4:14, LOVE LOVE LOVE the cathartic shot of Zoe *finally* breaking down and grieving for Connor at 5:01, but weirdly my favorite part might be the front row of the audience 1:47? Like it's such an understated shot but it blows me away how much human emotion you conveyed with with a few pencil marks. We knew *exactly* what each person in that row was feeling and not a single one of them had eyeballs or noses or even a whole mouth lol. It's so wild how complex human emotions can be condensed like that.
Have been binge-watching this on loop for like two days. Incredible work. I'm glad this got the views it deserved.
