So cool. Love the modification. I need to do this to my Jet Jam as well. Thanks for sharing the info.

Have a look at Horizon's "River Jet" boat. Its much bigger and faster. I would say more suited for adult play out of the box then the Jet Jam. The "RJ" will need a nozzle choke to make steering more accurate though. Print one from Thingiverse.

I finally got one of these. I ended up just swapping out the ESC. I didn't put any of the decals on mine. I'm going to paint it into a snake theme so that it can maybe scare some of the people around the pond.

Wow! It is fast. I bought one on Saturday. Cool boat!

Nice video. Thanks. I was thinking of buying a second Jet Jam and putting a brushless in it. Now I will' :)

An esc with a brake or reverse would help it self right. The one you used looks like it was intended for aircraft. That little sucker was moving. What kv and cell count did you use?

Tell, how many revolutions per volt does the motor have? KV?

Nice job!! Is it possible that rearranging the location of the esc and battery could make the self righting work.. i notice from the factory the electronics are all on one side so it would be more inclined to flip back over where the weight is. would be a cool test .. let us know if you try it (if your still running this thing)

Others have tried with electronics position, a reversing esc and such. The problem comes down to the brushless inrunner motor does not create enough rotational force. If modded with a brushless outrunner motor then its very likely with a reversing esc it'd retain self righting. The only draw back is most outrunner's in a physical size that would work have a slower KV rating making a slower boat...

    Hi
I also upgraded to a 2s motor but the rubber between the couplers is grinding against the plastic sides because it swells with the brushless power. Do you have the same problem?

What are the specific parts that you used? Because I'm looking for a small brussless jet boat

I'm also having trouble finding actual part numbers I need esc/rx combo & compatable radio then brussless later on ... maybe

Maybe a smaller 2040 size brushless motor would be a better fit. Way over powered now. Sure looks like a fun time. Thanks for sharing.

Should be install a cooling system for esc and motor?

Did the cavitation happen with the 2s? Just wondering if the 3s weight caused the cavitation? Let me know if you did any other mods and if you ever tried at full throttle. Thanks for your video

    • @everydayrc1783
      @everydayrc1783  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Cavitation happened mostly with 3s and high speeds. As the boat sped up it started riding high on the water allowing air to be sucked into the pump.

Super cool! Nice vid I had one like it an fitted a surpass hobby 2040 3200 kv motor with 35 amp 2-3s esc combo no drilling no mod 2mm shaft worked out.. but motor got hot after 3-5min Water cooling was the plan... needless to say something failed shorted out the battery blew up an sunk🤦🏽‍♂️ plan to do new setup with NO China parts, LPB2850/X2 Leopard 3330kv and Hobbywing Ezrun Max10 60amp esc 2-3s air cooled only will need to drill coupling to 4mm tho

Doesn't work with a inrunner brushless. I and others have the same issue. There's not enough rotating mass. Out runners have entire mass of the can turning for a lot more centrifugal force. Brushed motors work being how much larger the armature is. In runner brushless have really small armatures. Plus my esc only has forward. A reversible esc is in the works but still the mass issue remains.
