One other thing to note is..... the 736 has magnatraction. I have actually seen at train shows, where a vendor put a 736 shell on top of a 726 frame. The 726 does not have magnatraction. It is always best to be sure of what you are purchasing at any train show, so that you don't get taken by what the seller is selling. Lubrication is always the key to success when running postwar Lionel. BTW, nice layout.
Model trains are subject to the same limitations as real trains; rolling resistance or friction, especially along curves, has to be considered. If you lubricate all the wheels on each boxcar, that'll go a long way towards how many cars your engine can pull. Starting the whole consist on a straight section of track will also help the engine get underway. Having said that, I never doubted that the big, brawny 736 Berkshire would get the job done. Love my 736!

Good advise for any car or locomotives. Thanks for posting
What a great video David. Love seeing the original 6464 boxcars. Good stuff!😊
Can't beat the originals
I missed this Berkshire video somehow, cool boxcar consist! 😎👍

Thank you, tinplate trains and sectional track on plywood... the best.
You hit the nail on the head. A drop of oil between the wheel and axle and they spin freely. Any light oil will work.
Great runner!
This consist took up half of my outer loop, so I would max out at 30 boxcars.
On 072 curves, it can pull 60 modern cars.
With those wide radius curves and long straight aways I bet my old 225E could pull all those cars too.
This is one of my favorite locos. You got to love Magnatraction. I wonder how much mine will pull.
Nice run
I'd love to get a good track plan of this layout! I'd love to build one just like it here. I likely have enough track to do it.
What radius of curves was the other youtouber running it looks like you running o72 curves
My outer loop curves are 042 K-line track.
Great Platform !!
