Postwar Lionel 2046 Steamers Hauling Freight
Here I am showcasing some of my postwar Lionel 2046 steamer engines from 1951 hauling freight. One engine is hauling two box cars and a coal car. The other is hauling five log cars.

Like the log consist! 🍻🤙
I had this station, I had the sections of track that stops the train a couple of sections past the station, so the train stopped with the passenger cars at the station.
Great Platform !!
I think there`s a kitchen fire in the Plasticville Diner..
My father had that exact steam turbine set. I have it now. When he would put Xmas decorations away after Christmas he would set the train up for a few weeks were the tree had been. I'd rush home from school (back in session after xmas break) to play with it in the 60s and 70s.
@@stanmohr8601 hope you are having fun with the train.
Very nice. Air strip is cool.
Thanks, it's one my favorites.
Nice! The 2046 really is a great engine!
Model trains are subject to the same limitations as real trains; rolling resistance or friction, especially along curves, has to be considered. If you lubricate all the wheels on each boxcar, that'll go a long way towards how many cars your engine can pull. Starting the whole consist on a straight section of track will also help the engine get underway. Having said that, I never doubted that the big, brawny 736 Berkshire would get the job done. Love my 736!
Nothing beats a pair of Lionel post war F3’s does not matter the road name the style is timeless😊
Nice layout.
Nice. I really like that the layout is made for running trains. One question, the “Green top”, what is it made of?
That's 30lb roofing paper painted forest green. It's been on for 30 years and held up very well.
Thanks for the info.

Super fun traditional layout.
What a beautiful layout
What a beautiful GP9 postwar run session. I miss seeing your video's David. For some reason or another I'm no longer being notified when you upload a video. I will try and fix that on my end. Frank
Great run, what is the size of your layout ?
It's 10 by 13.
Nice run.I enjoyed
Great layout! Is that Lehigh Valley an MPC piece?
The Lehigh Valley Is a 1977 body on a postwar 2328 chassis painted yellow.
Very nice.
Fantastic layout with classic Plasticville buildings.
Sweet EP-5s and layout, nice run session. 💯
Beautiful trains, great layout.
Your making me want to channel 'Arlo Guthrie'!!! 😂 MPC era F-3 sets (a mainstay of my collection)! Great Layout!!! 👍
Very nice layout!
Have never seen the Illinois Central passenger cars.
I have my dad's 1955 Illinois Central set and it's the gem of my collection. I might have other trains that cost more, but it holds a special place in my heart. Awesome run, thanks!
Thank you, tinplate trains and sectional track on plywood... the best.
What brand are those water tower looking accessories with the bubble tubes in them?
They are K-Line water towers.
@@davidwilk5160 Another accessory to add to my slowly growing collection. 😆
I sure enjoy mine set too.
Great looking set.
Finally I get a chance to see a full Lionel passenger consist without seeing 3 units with 3 cars!
I hope you enjoyed it.
It's beautiful!
Can you do that with the postwar Santa Fe's Super Chief?
I have an earlier video with my postwar and modern Era Super Chief sets. The modern Era had the ABA engine setup but it only has 4 cars.
I have matching NY Central passenger cars. 6 of them!
I forgot to add that the set was made in Mt Clemens Michigan.
Fun layout
Dave I love this layout. Nice job. I just subscribed to,your channel. I’ve run O scale for years I had to switch to N scale but switching over back to O scale
Good advise for any car or locomotives. Thanks for posting
Nice old school lay out
Sweet Warbonnet set. Are both A units powered?
No, only the front unit.
Great Set!
Marx guy here, we had a kitchen fire in the Plasticville Diner, and all our Paytience moved down the rails to greener pastures.
What radius of curves was the other youtouber running it looks like you running o72 curves
My outer loop curves are 042 K-line track.
Great layout! So much going on. What did you use for the green underground?
I used 30lb roofing paper and painted it forest green.
@@davidwilk5160 Thanks. I think it looks pretty good. I'm rebuilding my own layout. Used fibreboard before but I suspect it atracks moist (track is rusty a bit on the underside), so I was looking for an alternative. Never thought about roofing paper untill now.
Nice.
Great looking sets. I like the extra views of the layout. Very interesting track plan. What radius of curves were used?
042 curves on the outside loop. Everything else is 031.
Great looking layout and run session. 😎👍
Very nice postwar run session David! I’ve never seen 44 toners with passenger cars. 😊
According to the Standard Catalog Of Lionel Trains 1945-1969 by David Doyle set 1552 1956 027 Passenger: 629,2434,2432,2436.
Awesome, I will definitely pull out the book and have a look. Thank you for the information.👍
Those look great.
I wanna look at the back of the guy's head through the W h o l e video cheese
The old Tie-Jector in action, nice!
Great runner!
I probably told you already that these trains are beautiful
