I still use one every day. The only negative about it is the distortion selection. There is useable stuff but not anything for my tastes. but the best part is you can drop an external OD in anywhere on the chain.
compare between Boss GT-3 and Line 6 500hd..im pretty sure Boss Gt-3 more natural and not compressed sounding.. you can check out the demo and listen carefully..
it sure was affordable i found one on Guitar Center's used list for $70 bucks and after reading all these comments I'm glad i picked this over the ME-70, ME-50, and GT-8 and GT-10. I had the ME-25 and it was just not working out for me it was way too digital and i am use to using individual pedals simultaneously so the ME-25 was not for me.
i got mine as a second hand unit last Jan 2021 and this is my very first multi effects......i know its kinda old like a vintage tank but MAN!!! i still have a lot of tweakings to do with it and i like it this way so i can explore and try out what it can do more that what its suppose to do :-) im just glad my dream of owning a multi effects is from Boss :-)
I'm still amazed by this gear. I had the gt-8 but I just could't handle it. Some people say the axe-fx has a complicated user interface, well, weirdly I had less problem with that. And with the axe edit installed, it's a breeze
@DerEchteBold well, it was just a joke really. auto-riff is kind of a thing that someone who CAN play those wouldn't really use much. But as a tool to create something live... maybe. I never used the sound on sound. I kind of felt it was always cheap and cheezy. repeat... repeat.... repeat..... jeez.... can I yawn any wider? hahah thanks fer the vid!
I bought mine in 2002. Now we're in 2013 and i'm still using it. I never found a decent replacement for GT-3 cause there's no need for it. At least for me. Anything after GT-5 sounds too digital in my opinion.
+SanjeevGeorgeV That's a Roland GK 2 pickup. A few months ago I sent an email to Gundy Keller (the guitarrist of the demo video) asking about that guitar. Gundy told me that it is a Vantage Avenger with four Seymour Duncans, an Ibanez neck and a Floyd, but he also told me that he curretly doesn't own the guitar. Instead, he has got a Suhr Stratocaster
+SanjeevGeorgeV Yes, it will work with any steel string instruments but it won't function properly with nylon or gut strings, 12 string guitars or pedal steels. The GK2 is now discontinued but you can buy the GK3 for 160$
I have a feeling many of the effects algorithms in this GT-3 are STILL exactly the same in the GT-Pro and GT-10 and you can get one of these for $80 ;) Sure, the amp modelling has likely improved but auto wah, chorus and slicer, etc how much "better" can they get? :)
Fantastic unit I use it live and for sessions to this day as a stand alone preamp in to a power amp and carvin legacy cabinet with vintage 30s 👌

That was the best sounding Effekt from Boss !!! i find!

Comprei a minha em 2000 e ainda uso em 2020. Eu acho muito fiel os timbres
ELA TEM LOOP???
@@mlshot5443 não. Não tem loop

Gardy Marra I have the ME-25 and the GT-1 (the newest one). Do you think that the GT-3 sounds better than the ME-25?
Yes it does
using jc-120 preset on a jc-120.... wow

Boss GT3 still one the best floor processors out there...
LOL That auto-riff feature is witchcraft. Wish my VG-99 had it.
@TREBOR3B Loks like a synth pickup, maybe a Roland GK3.
esse guitarrista é o gundy keller. toca muito.!!!!
@Zooropa527 - Yes, you can make this. SURE!
The GT-3 has too the MANUAL mode for you to use the effects separately as stomps.
Regards.
Ainda vale a pena uma destas ?
Are these units hard to use
Very Good!
@TruthSurge
it has been around 10 years ago
i bought this thing around 1999 - 2000
yep! and after 10 years I still take my GT3 even my Peavey Vypyr is second choise
So ... whats the 'incredibly affordable price' that should be expected?
Garras Porgratix I paid 60 usd for mine
I'm still amazed by this gear. I had the gt-8 but I just could't handle it. Some people say the axe-fx has a complicated user interface, well, weirdly I had less problem with that. And with the axe edit installed, it's a breeze
deadasfak I love the 8..!! But it takes some time to get. Friends with it!! 😂
actually he is a pretty good guitar player
Could i turn on/off effects in one song using the numbered stomps?

would u recomend to buy a used boss gt-3 ?
thanks.
@guitarrax necesito saber tambien como se puede hacer eso... ayuda!!! help!!!!
Can i play on this with headphones and without amp?thanks
The demonstrator is Gundy Keller?
vinch57 Yes
wow, what guitar is that? thanks for posting!
Can anyone please tell me how to loop a riff while playing over it? I can't seem to figure it out. Thanks!
I bought mine in 2002. Now we're in 2013 and i'm still using it.

Do you still have?
HELP SHOULD I GET THIS OR A BOSS ME-50 ????
Carlos the GT-3 is much better
it has a tuner ?
Yes, it has.
An alright one too, only goes from 435 to 445 though
man, if only auto riff had been around 10 years ago. Holdsworth and Paul Gilbert and all those guys wouldn't have had to work so hard.
Ņģvbbj.
@Martin870620 yep you can you'd be better off with a gt-8 or gt-10 the gt-3 is too fiddley. its good for a first multi fx board
@tocslame001
If it is perfectly working. YES.
So...I recommend it.
yes!!!
I WANT IT!!
what guitar hes using ?
Daniel zul A Vantage Avenger
Cool
how can i do that? these thing with the auto riff. min 4:15 bis 4:58
thanks?
Sir which is better boss gt3 or boss gt5?
Anyone knows is this better or Nux mfx 10 and why ?
The auto-riff reminds me of Matthew Bellamy. =P
does the gt-3 have phrase looper
jangel2771 no
what's that at the bridge of the guitar?
+SanjeevGeorgeV That's a Roland GK 2 pickup. A few months ago I sent an email to Gundy Keller (the guitarrist of the demo video) asking about that guitar. Roger Felez-Morales
can that be attached to ANY electric guitar?
+SanjeevGeorgeV Yes, it will work with any steel string instruments but it won't function properly with nylon or gut strings, 12 string guitars or pedal steels. The GK2 is now discontinued but you can buy the GK3 for 160$
6:01 sounds very familiar. Anyone know where that lick is from?
Sweet home Alabama
I don't like the sound of the wah on the GT-3... Can I somehow connect a Crybaby with it?
Novak Klisic yes, with the fx loop of the GT-3. The send of the GT-3 to the input of the wah and the out to the return of the GT-3
brando92711 The GT-3 has more guitar synth wavefoms and the Auto Riff was only featured in the GT-3/6/8.
I still cant figure our how to work the damn thing
dude i hope you didnt lose the owners manual , else your scrood, it is a bitch to dial in isnt it?
how can you get that lead tone in the beginning of the video? please help
delaine silva Try to contact Gundy Keller, the guitarist of this video and ask him if he can send you a MIDI copy of his presets.
gundy keller.
@TruthSurge those guys love to play. Doesn't matter.
HOW TO I DO THAT !!?!?!?!?!?! @4:21
Older = Better
its not a bad unit at all
verrückte gitarre hat der burschi da
Sweet Home Alabama - Lynyrd Skynyrd
Auto Riff? what self respecting gtr player would use that- other than that it's great
Steve Cliff Miller i agree too..but its like anything else just because its their doesn't mean you have to use it..
Auto riff = about 20 years too late
Bad processor and a very good artist
