This is a really good video. Thanks. I bought a boss GT3 second hand back in the early 2000s when I was at university. Since then it gathered dust and I moved to using the amp presets and then separate pedals. I turned the GT3 on again a few years back (probably 5!) when I was having a clear out and it still seemed to work. I don't think the battery needed changing but this video is really helpful to show how to do it. Thanks and looking forward to the next video! 👍

Thanks for the comment. Glad your GT3 is still going strong. Feels like mine is slightly fading now. New video in a few days. :D

I'm curious about any potential upcoming issues with my Boss GT-3. I've been using this Boss GT-3 for 8 years, and it has been incredibly reliable, with no issues so far. It's a robust multi-effects unit, and it's reassuring to see your demo video showcasing its durability.

Just got one last week without a power supply and then one today that made no sound with a power supply for 120$ CAD. OH YEAH. I don't know why it makes no sound yet but it turns on. Gonna do the factory resets on both and battery too ❤ thank for this 🤟

Thank you for this video. I have owned a GT3 since 2000. Can you give us the battery reference? THANKS.

Hi. The battery was a CR2032. I'd recommend putting a decent branded battery in, rather than a cheaper one. Hope that helps. 👍

@@ChannelWrighty I thank you for your response. I'm going to put a Renata Lithium battery (Swiss made), I hope it will last that long. I will make the change with the GT3 powered on to avoid losing the sounds I made. thank you for your help.

@@Stevexperiences I think they have capacitors that help preserve the memory if you are relatively quick with the replacement battery, but probably not a bad idea keeping it plugged in if you’re careful!
I must admit, I went through my best patches and wrote down all the settings (on my GT8) as I really didn’t want to lose them. 👍

My boss gt6 value knob isn't working please help me to fix it 🙏

I noticed the wah wah switch on the volume pedal is now way too sensitive on my GT6, so may look into fixing that and see how the value knob works at the same time if that helps.

It's the lates& last firmware update that's proving impossible to find! You'd think, bu the prices they charge, that they could support discontinued hardware better!
Thinking about it cynically, they want you to buy a new one.
But the way I look at it is of they looked after the 2nd hand market better then when I do want to upgrade I'm more likely to show brand loyalty to a company that helps it's second hand market properly than to one that tries to force you to upgrade.
It's a very short sighted policy by a bunch of bread heads instead of a group of guitar geeks looking after their fellow twangers & shredders!
Poor people just out of school get jobs, earn money & are then in a position to buy new. Who do you think will be getting their hands on the cash?
Well, it won't be coercive Boss!
