I am so sorry for this delayed response… Pull off around 24’’inches of thread , wax it if possible, and tie it to the outside thread on the loom. Hi Global Relaxation, I accidentally lost the comment that you left (I’m sorry) but hopefully this answer will find you😊 You do not need a longer loom to create a hat band. I have made numerous hatbands and a few belts on this particular loom. Tandy Leathers, Micheals, Joanne Fabrics and Hobby Lobby carry this type of loom.
