Great tutorial. I'm going to make a loom like that one, I have a feeling it will work a lot better than those cheap wire looms. I didn't know about doubling the threads on the outside, great tip.

Such a simple loom, easy to build, and a thorough explanation. I'd love to see a video showing ways to finish off the projects. Nice work.

I especially like your starting with the 7 beads at the top of the end piece of the loom. The use of tape to hold them in place seems an ideal method of spacing the work. I wonder about using 7 beads at the other top end piece of the loom and lining them up so they are square with regard to the dowels and the end pieces. Great video and teaching. Thank you!

It's simpler for me to remember by saying one more thread than there are beads, then plus 2. Lol, same thing but it breaks it down for beginners & so I started doing that then. (As a kid why 3 threw me & to avoid warping wrong, I divided it up into one extra + two more for the outside & then I was picturing borders, not messing up spaces. 😁)

I downloaded graft paper but it wasn't the same size as my bead size it was bigger so my Mic Mac design turned out stretched out... Had to alter it a bit as I go... please do one on design planning....thanks

Yes. Up to the individual bearer and their level of skill, and how good their coordination and eyesight is. I prefer Miyuki Delica Cylinder Seed Beads, Size 11/0, but don't know how much longer my vision will allow. I am however looking forward to working with fifteen and eight sizes, though, when I cannot work the smallest beads. Just remember, the higher the number (size) the smaller the bead. Happy beadweaving from one lover of the craft!

Wow I’ve never heard of using 3 more strings than there are beads , I’ve always used only 1 string more than there are beads and I’ve never had a problem with my work looking good, the only time my work didn’t look good is when i was just starting and I didn’t know anything about the quality of beads therefore I used Czech beads instead of high quality Japanese beads .
