I broke ACOMAF up into 2 parts and this is the significantly less funny part because its all about Tamlin and Feyre's PTSD... but I already have the next video filmed and ready to drop on you next week^^
Cannot wait! However it is my birthday tomorrow so if by some chance you want to release it early as a present to me I’d adore that! I love these videos you do! Thanks 😊

Thank you for the summery I am 2 videos deep and the way you tell the story makes me invested! ... and I don't even have the excuse that a friend reads these books
"she's like chancla: off. throws it at rhys" i cannot overstate how much i laughed at this. it feels like it's feyre's 'special move' if she was a character in a fighter game
@caricanread I've said this before, but after watching all your videos about 15 times. I stand by the fact that your music choices are on point and couldn't be better 😂
My absolute favourite part is when feyre comes to the night court for the first time and rhys is like, "you can roam wherever you wish" and she says "i wish to roam home" 😭😭 it cracked me up
Character assassination. The easiest method to use when you’ve accidentally made a romantic option too likable, but would rather have the lead end up with someone else, and can’t be bothered to write it well
It's also so sad because instead of him getting help to deal with his ptsd as the series continues he is just alone going mad at the spring court and only person that visits him is rhysand just to tell him he will murder him 😭
@@jordinagel1184 facts. this is the reason i'm willing to listen to a book summary for entertainment, but not actually buy the series and become invested into the story - i hate when characters get this kind of disrespectful treatment. i much prefer the 'right person, wrong time' plot where the first pairing tragically can't be together due to circumstances, with no asshole-ification involved. but even a 'good 2nd lead becomes evil' can be written sooo much better. i once watched this kdrama focused on a bromance between a korean ml who works for the the japanese police during the japanese occupation and looks down on his own countrymen, and a japanese 2nd ml who sympathizes with the koreans. they both fall in love with the same girl, and as the story progresses, we witness the ml's redemption arc as the 2nd ml is overcome with greed and becomes corrupted and power hungry. everything was well fleshed out, the focus wasn't even on the romance, and the character trajectories were extremely satisfying
Girl... I've read all the books, but I'll still watch this. SJM writes the trash I both hate and enjoy, but your content is always golden in every way.
I just absolutely adore the way you tell those stories - part kindergarten teacher, part best girlfriend on a night out, part scandalised reporter. It's absolutely delightful and really soothes me. Thank you!
@@BossALKENOomg me neither! I started the series after watching Cari’s videos and I literally cannot picture Nesta and Elaine as anyone but Regina and Karen lol
My gf has been explaining this book to me, and I love hearing her talk about it, she then put this on and she laughed but did not appreciate that I thought all the characters were like 3’2 because they’re fairies
I really liked these books in high school, but hindsight made me realize how strange/problematic/other descriptor they could be. Kinda spoiler: Yes, Tamlin did treat Feyre horribly, etc etc. But in this book, and a lot in the next, it becomes a theme to brush aside/make fun of Tamlin's PTSD just because his PTSD turned him to being creepily protective over Feyre. Yes, what he did was horrible. But this man needed therapy, needed to learn how to be okay with himself and not cling desperately onto the person he loves to their relationship's detriment. It's actually a realistic PTSD response, all things considered. It just wasn't addressed and handled in a way that would be for the better of Feyre, Tamlin, and the reader. That being said, Rhysand is still my favorite. Oops.
i'm definitely team rhysand as well and i agree with everything you said. i think sjm really wanted to make rhysand feyre's love interest so she wrote off tamlin to be a terrible person even though he wasn't like that in the first book and instead of fleshing out his character he was just made out to be this obsessed, possessive and manipulative man rather than fleshing out the trauma he was going through
He does, thats sad as he easy could have gotten that he realizes his ptsd doe harm her an that they cant go on and that he needs to find himself and deal with his stuff, and doesnt even need to, they could stay friends in a way. An it could be as draatic as real things are without needing a bad guy. Something something he realized he became the monater and it was not th curse, an she couldnt help him with that , he needed to help himself and face his demons, no matter hoe long it took, thil the, they needed to seperate, as much as it hurts. And just jet him go out on a good note. That the just went seoperate ways and that they have enough drama already. Like have a downwards spiral and realizing that they need distance, with the exploding he does. And that to help her and himself, he first had to let her go and they care for themselves?! Like he isnt a monster, and he should be really be bette and be just a traumatized person that realizes they cant be coependent and neglected , and grow apart. While getting on with rhysand slowly whol they. Ther are ways to sho healthy real daling and big drama.
I don't like to give (even fictional) men pass on abusing women just because they also have mental issues. You're nice to have empathy but realise empathy for abusers should be limited regardless of their reasons. There are tons of people who have PTSD or other issues and don't choose to abuse others.
Tell me the situation between Feyre, Tamlin, and Rhys isnt like the situation with Persephone, Hades, and Demeter. Like spring princess is obligated to visit the "underworld" while her over protective loved one is having a mental breakdown at her absence.
That’s because sjm said that acomaf was based on the story of hades and Persephone. Nice observation, even though everyone in the fandom kinda knows it
@@ishashrotri2087 I'm not part of the fandom, the only context to the books or fandom I get is through TH-cam. So I wasnt aware that she was doing her own version of Persephone's story
It’s always bugged me that Feyre is allowed to have PTSD but not Tamlin. She does such a good job with Feyre too, like I could relate to the feeling of being too tainted for something like live and marriage, and to the way it feels like life revolving around you without your participation. And yet with Tamlin his PTSD is demonized from the start. Yes his actions at the end were awful, but Farrah NEVER took the time to communicate with him!!
“We’re about to take Tamlin from you” Honestly, could have just stopped there and it would have summed up the entire book Yeah……Damn SJm did Tamlin dirty, but boy is he worse the next book.
I love these plot breakdowns! There was 0% chance I would ever read or care about this book series, but your explanations and photo collages are so funny that it hooks me every time. 10/10
Your small giggle after the line “well, he exploded in rage” like that obviously explains why the study is ruined had me cackling. (27:08ish mark) Oh Tammy, the whole spring court needs therapy
I have not read anything by Sara J. Mas nor do I want to. But will I sit here for multiple hours and listen to a breakdown of everything that happened? 100%
Lol the music, SJM really tries to slam Rhys down your throat, “like he’s perfect right??? Love him please love him!!!” I’m like I see what you’re doing, he’s alright lol
As someone who has read all these books and actually enjoyed them for the fun mess of fantasy writing that they are, these summary videos are so wildly entertaining and hysterical and accurate. Your choice of words to describe certain things and your facial expressions when silently making fun of scenes or peoples actions literally make me laugh out loud. No matter what books you make these videos for in the future you can count on me to always watch them, whether I like the books or not.
I literally bought all the books because of your ACOTAR recap... I'm gonna wait until I finally read ACOMAF before watching this. Pls never stop making these!
So, I have a theory about why Sarah is describing everyone as the most beautiful. Majority of the book is from Feyre's point of view. She has pretty low self esteem. She thinks everyone is more talented, more essential, more important, and more beautiful than her. So that being said SHE thinks everyone is the most beautiful she's ever seen, not necessarily Sarah herself. Just a thought.
This might be true, but it's still incredibly boring to read descriptions of perfect characters. Yes, they have scarlet lips and an hourglass figure and hair like a starless night, but that tells us nothing about their character or position in life. We already know that they're fae and that they're impossibly beautiful. Give us an interesting tidbit, something that makes them stand out as a character.
Tamlin had so much PTSD as well (50 years bro) and didn’t deserve to become a bad guy for the plot; he needed therapy. *spoiler here* Rhys killed his family so yeah of course tamlin hates him, but rhys needs therapy too, everybody needs extensive therapy in this essay I will-
Yeah like what tamlin did was awful but he has SERIOUS ISSUES and trauma that drove him to do it. His intentions were to protect feyre even if he almost drove her to the brink of insanity.
If she wants to break them up, they could do, they even have a bad guy, trauma and ptsd. Why coulsnr he have a relationship that they break up for good due them not being able to work it out, and he realizes that it was as bad as the cure and made him a monster, , he needed time to fight his deamons , it was his demons that endangered her the most, he had to protect her, from his own demions, and seperate. He could jut be tragic and seing what he becam and soul search alone and , just be off :( , he was such a nicce complicated dude.
I’m pretty sure I read these books but I don’t remember anything Lmaoo it’s so much more entertaining when you summarize it. Also just wanted to say Cari I love your videos (on both channels), they help me relax and I get book recs at the same time!
ACOMAF: How To Commit Character Assassination in Under 700 Pages. For realsies, though, one thing that always bothers me about Sara J. Maas's writing is that her characters are either evil or they're not. And sometimes you think they're evil, but actually, they're the most perfect person in creation (Rhys), or you think they're great, but actually, they're terrible and deserve nothing but endless misery (Tam). She's gotten a bit better at instilling grey areas in Nesta's book, but then again, in redeeming Nesta, she nerfed Feyra and Rhys as characters...soooo, I guess she didn't, actually. Welp!
Been going through a bad heartbreak so I’ve been binge-watching your past « forgot the plot videos »… This is going to be my 4th Sarah J Maas breakdown video in the last 24h, I am so ready haha
CARI, YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND ❤️🔥 I watched your first ACOTAR breakdown on a whim and by 24 min in was BEWITCHED body and soul. Every fiber of my being was invested in these characters. I truly felt like I had read the book with you and was absolutely broken. I watched other ACOTAR videos, listened to podcasts, and now I’m reading ACOMAF. You have changed my life in profound ways and shifted my existence. I will be watching this when I’m halfway through with ACOMAF, but I just wanted to tell you how much these breakdowns now mean to me 💙
Jurian being Prince Charming and the king of hybern being Lord Farquad is fantastic. I also love every time you play let's get it on every time Rhysand shows up. Favourite running joke.
I absolutely HATED how SJM built up this surprisingly tolerable and even likable love interest in the first blook then she turnned around and absolutely wrecked him to make the previous bad boy look better. BRUH
i just came here from your acotar video and reading this series isn't as joyful as listening to you as i crochet hehe i'm eating these plot summary vids up THANK YOU i love you!!!!! 🩷🎀
Have i read the book like a month ago? Yes Did i still watch the whole thing, thoroughly enjoying myself? also yes. I actually cracked up at Rhys’ interruption of the wedding!! This is way too entertaining, can’t wait for more
I'm so sorry to say you're going to have to do this with the entire series, because I'm completely addicted now. The way you explain what's happening is so entertaining and has me completely wrapped, and I never intend to actually read this series, but I MUST know what happens.
I'm honestly more interested in Lucien and Feyre's, and Mor and Rhys's friendship than the romance. Their dynamics are so fun to watch, and honestly more compelling than the whole cliched "I hate him but why do I feel bad for him?" romance.
That I Need a Hero moment/detail was SO GOOD my brain had a hard time believing it was happening 😂 god that made me laugh! Well done Cari, I've read all the books (except the latest) and I am enjoying this so much!!
I also started reading the series after Cari’s summary after the first one lol got the audiobook from my library, it’s good for having on while doing chores and stuff
i just discovered your summaries of this series and i am absolutely loving it! i don't ever plan to read aoctar but i have a feeling the way you describe everything makes this series 100x more interesting than me actually reading it haha
As someone who starts books, reads half of them, doesn't read for a bit, and then forgets, I have to say thank you. your summaries make it really easy to just watch and stop whenever I stopped reading it.
Actually had the ACOTAR series sitting in my TBR for the longest time and finally decided to start reading in order to watch your first video on ACOTAR. Happy to say I’ve now finished the entire series and I can’t wait to go through the entire recap through your videos!
wow just finished all the other videos and saw that this was posted an hour ago what perfect timing for me. devouring these videos because by god i hate sjm's writing but these plots are so juicy, you are doing the lord's work here i cannot get enough
YAY!!! I read the first two books a long time ago and I'm ready to read the 3rd one (during the final book support group weekend) and I need to know what happened without re-reading, so I'm thrilled that this one is out! Your timing is excellent!
I have been waiting for this. I was someone who loved ACOTAR then A Court of Fuck YOU and Your Feelings fell into my lap and absolutely ruined everything. I was FURIOUS. I honestly hated everything about it which makes me so sad bc my closest friends love it
Hmmm.... you hated ACOMAF? Interesting. I gotta agree with the "fuck you and your feelings" part though cause I was definitely crying my life away after reading it lol
@@kekelottas A lot of us felt SJM did not do a particularly well-written or nuanced depiction of Tamlin's turn as an increasingly abusive partner. For a lot of people, it very much felt like she decided she had a bigger hard-on for Rhysand, and made him nauseatingly superior (oh, he's the most beautiful man, he's the best lover, he's the most powerful high lord ever, his court is so much prettier, he's a better ruler, he's constantly saying "It's your CHOICE Feyre," Rhys rules while Tamlin drools) despite the fact that Rhys has done plenty of fucked-up, controlling shit with almost 0 self-awareness shown from SJM about it.
@@danawalter259 That’s the shit that gets me. So many people say oh but Tamlin’s traits were foreshadowed, what he did was inexcusable, he doesn’t deserve therapy, but many of those people won’t stop excusing Rhys’ also horrific actions. Both of them had valid explanations for their behavior which I agree shouldn’t be *excuses* but I can’t stand the pedestal Rhys gets put on while Tamlin gets villified - THAT is why it feels like the author just decided Rhys was hotter and to go for him instead. Tamlin’s behavior in book 2 also probably wouldn’t have shocked as many if his Book 1 overprotectiveness and mildly condescending nature wasn’t *basically the norm for YA lover interests.* A shitty norm but a norm nonetheless. I COULD believe that SJM wanted to show people that this behavior is actually a red flag, except I’m pretty sure she writes plenty of other love interests like this where it’s supposed to be romantic. So no, I don’t think this was clever foreshadowing and subversion, I think this was genuine character assassination and making light of his PTSD. Feyra shouldn’t be stuck with either of these dudes and this bullshit, these people all need to work on fixing themselves first before they make it more complicated.
Torn between heartbreak that we don't have the full summary, but excited to see the rest! I love the work you put into scripting and editing these videos, and I can't wait for more!
Cari, THANK YOU. I watched/listened to your ACOTAR summary last night, and watched/listened to this video this morning while painting one of my projects. I had bought into the hype of this series last year and purchased the box set of these books. Due to a combination of my schedule and a bit slight boredom etc, I put the second book down around three quarters into it. I'd "like" to finish the series, but don't currently have the time or interest in re-reading any of it at this time, and couldn't remember enough of it to continue. These videos are enjoying, entertaining, and catching me up with everything I've already read. You are doing an excellent job with these, and I will certainly watch/listen to all of them after I've read/as I go! I also subscribed to your channel and have watched/listened to a few of your other videos, and they are all EXCELLENT so far. THANK YOU with all of my heart for all of the hard work you do. You have no idea how much relief, happiness, entertainment, laughter, smiles, and relief you've provided me with! Fawn 😊
It’s so weird how SJM can like hit big important character traits and dynamics in a good way…. and then it all gets negated by her inability (or struggle) to keep a conscise plot line. Especially in the new HoSaB, but also in ACOTAR series where it kinda seems like she’s figuring out the plot as she goes and cares more about the romance aspects. She’s not an awful writer, but she could be more clear about what’s going on.
every time something is gonna come up later in the book or in the next book you're like: 'this might be important later, idk, i can't remember' and i love that ( 12:29 )
This is so great because I get to understand all the TT videos and references without trying to struggle through SJM's writing style. You're delivery style is hilarious btw, i love it so much.
Just finished this book last night. And i couldn't get enough of it so hoped on here to see more and i am glad i came across your video. Next time i feel like rereading the book, this video will be more than enough. 🙌🏼
as soon as i saw that Cari released this video, i dropped EVERYTHING that i was doing and immediately watched it. I LOVE YOUR RECAPS SM especially the ACOTAR series 🤗🤗
Girl, you are so funny. Just wanted to make you feel appreciated for your comedic timing and storytelling habilities. I have never read these books, but I have a lot of fun with these videos.
I am LOVING these long form content plot overviews! As someone who has issues reading these days as my peepers get old and glasses are hit or miss, being able to listen to the story is my current jam. However, I am SUPER confused about all the acronyms being mentioned and how they relate to the individual book titles. Is there any way for you to list which books are covered in each video? I'm an old lady and these long acronyms go in and out of the brain pan and make no sense to me. LOL! Thank you so much for all your amazing work!
I'm about 1/2 way through ACOMAF and I'm addicted to this series!! I totally love your characters on the wall. Lord Farquard as the King of Hybern kills me, that's how I pictured him.
I love love love your voice your script writing. and you made it so easy for me understand it better and it felt like listening to a story second hand in the best way possible. I used to tell stories exactly like this to my friends on my school bus, sharing the stories' I read or shows I saw in detail. I don't have many friends who read atm so this took me back to my school days and gave me so much nostalgia. so thank you so so much. I couldn't care more about this books plot or the writing other than the second book and your format was a gem to find. do it for more books please!! you got this book summary thing that no other youtuber is getting it right, staying objective but letting the listener form their opinion is brilliant. there is something about the way you talk about them, so just keep it up its very original and niche. you get the plot, the details and the summary so concise and to the point its perfection. it was a pleasure to listen to all your summaries thank you.😃
i have such mixed feelings about this series, I think i did see the potential but the writing only got worse after a certain point and characters became more dumb. But surprisingly i absolutely enjoy your narrative style. it's so fun to listen to. The ACOTAR series is so chaotic but your videos have made what I did not enjoy better?? how is this possible.
That's honestly my biggest issue with SJM -- like I SEE the amazing potential in what she writes, I like a lot of her ideas on paper. But then I see the actual execution of it and the irritating characters and it feels wasted to me
Haven't read ANY Sarah J Mass' books before and I don't think I ever will. *two hours later* Sees a 1 to 3 hour break down video about the plot, its character, and over all lunacy....I click so fast I broke both my finger and keyboard in the process. Cari your plot analysis videos are just as delightfully unhinged as I imagine those books are.
OMG these books carried me through 11th grade when I was super depressed- I read them and reread them and decorated my whole room on the style of the night court. And these recaps make me so unbelievably happy
Let’s not forget how amazing Mor was getting Feyre out of there. A queen. Also, was waiting for the Muse song from Twilight to play for the hold on Rhys’ image. Lol. Stupid copyrights.
thank you so much for making this!! i struggle to get through big books when i don’t really know what’s going on, and watching these before makes me excited to read the actual thing:)
I found this series about a week ago and was just rewatching it all when I saw this was posted!! Perfect timing 🥰 Thank you for all the hard work you put into these!
I had to dnf this book 😭 I could not get over Tamlin becoming instantly evil and i couldn’t forgive Reysand for how opportunistic he seemed in the end of the first book. I tried to hang in there but then when we met his found family i couldn’t stand how much they reminded me of the kind of tragic backstory OCs me and my middle school friends made up-I liked so much about the first book and really wanted to finish this series but fuggg this was tough to get through I hope I can get over my hang ups and read it
The only exposure I had to this series before was just knowing that it was fairy smut, but after watching your first video I'm actually kinda invested in the series in a weird way. It sounds like a very interesting world with interesting characters, even if a bit paper thin and predictable at times. The whole Under The Mountain portion of the first book sounded actually really scary and it's stuck with me a bit. No way I'm gonna sit down and read all of these books so I'm definitely excited to stick around and watch all of your recaps of it.
This feels like.. my friend spilling just the HOTTEST of gos and i love it greatly. I barely know about these books but i love Jenny and Mike's content I'm so glad your style is sort of like theirs, its so fun, makes these videos so fun and interesting!

My new favorite hobby is reading these books along with Cari's amazing plot summaries!! I don't know what I look forward to more the next chapter in the book, or the way Cari calls out each character's flaws with hilarious accuracy! Love every second, thx Cari!! 🫶
Thank you so much for taking your time to make these! I honestly fell out of love with this series after book one because- well never mind that's an essay for another day XD, but i'd listen to you explain literally anything
I have read this entire series twice but your summaries have been so freakin amazing. I have laughed so, so hard and even teared up. You just capture the story so well and explain each character in a way that is deep and understanding. Thank you so much for all the hard work you've put into this 🙏🏼😭♥️
I watched Cindy's videos about this series but those were more about the fairy porn and writing style, while your videos are more about the story and the characters so I'm really enjoying your deep dive videos as well! I never read these books nor do I plan to, but I love watching your detailed videos about this series and also the Crescent City ones. Also I am kinda really starting to dig Rhysand because of this, oops.
Thank you so much for these recaps. I really didn't want to add this series to my reading list, but was so curious about it's popularity. Finding these videos has been delightful!

Oops.
Agree
i'm definitely team rhysand as well and i agree with everything you said. i think sjm really wanted to make rhysand feyre's love interest so she wrote off tamlin to be a terrible person even though he wasn't like that in the first book and instead of fleshing out his character he was just made out to be this obsessed, possessive and manipulative man rather than fleshing out the trauma he was going through
He does, thats sad as he easy could have gotten that he realizes his ptsd doe harm her an that they cant go on and that he needs to find himself and deal with his stuff, and doesnt even need to, they could stay friends in a way.

That's ok just pointing it out as a friendly comment :) hope i didn't come off as rude and if i did im sorry that was not what i meant at all
@@ishashrotri2087 it's all good, thank you for the info 😊
Going from ACOTAR to ACOMAF is a whole new level of whiplash
Just the fact that Mor was so exited to meet Feyra because she knew. She knew who she was meeting. Her cousins mate.
your explanation of feyre’s emotions make her so likeable
It’s always bugged me that Feyre is allowed to have PTSD but not Tamlin.
She does such a good job with Feyre too, like I could relate to the feeling of being too tainted for something like live and marriage, and to the way it feels like life revolving around you without your participation. And yet with Tamlin his PTSD is demonized from the start. Yes his actions at the end were awful, but Farrah NEVER took the time to communicate with him!!
This.
100%
AGREED!
“We’re about to take Tamlin from you” Honestly, could have just stopped there and it would have summed up the entire book
Yeah……Damn SJm did Tamlin dirty, but boy is he worse the next book.
🥲🥲🥲
Smh why did sjm need to establish tamlin as a good guy in the first book only to completely ruin his character 🫠 I actually liked him
I love these plot breakdowns! There was 0% chance I would ever read or care about this book series, but your explanations and photo collages are so funny that it hooks me every time. 10/10
Thank you 🥲
Your small giggle after the line “well, he exploded in rage” like that obviously explains why the study is ruined had me cackling. (27:08ish mark) Oh Tammy, the whole spring court needs therapy
😭😭😭
I have not read anything by Sara J. Mas nor do I want to. But will I sit here for multiple hours and listen to a breakdown of everything that happened? 100%
😂🙏
@@caricanread ahhhh! Hello! I love your content. I've been in a reading slump for forever and your recommendations have got me started again 😁😁😁
Omg Me too lol 😆
Lol the music, SJM really tries to slam Rhys down your throat, “like he’s perfect right??? Love him please love him!!!” I’m like I see what you’re doing, he’s alright lol
God, even in a fairy realm you can't escape taxes.
I love your book essay videos or whatever their called, it’s probably kinda hard to make these videos so thank you
Thank youuu!
I love how almost every time Rhysand comes into play the sexy music plays. It makes me laugh so hard 😂
I literally bought all the books because of your ACOTAR recap...
I'm gonna wait until I finally read ACOMAF before watching this. Pls never stop making these!
😂🙏
Omg ditto (maybe got it on Libby). But now after this video I’m planning on getting the graphic novel with my bday audio gift tomorrow on my bday!
@@NovelNanny graphic novel?? There's a graphic novel??
All I’ve gotten from this is that the spring court is Ba Sing Se, but rated R.
frrr
You made me laugh so laugh I scared my cat XD
There is no war in Ba Sing Se.... Or do you need to visit lake Laogai
This may be true for acotar, but her other series, Tog and CC, are the same. Everyone is the most beautiful being ever
@@AlwaysAdalaiI came here to say this same thing lol
Tamlin had so much PTSD as well (50 years bro) and didn’t deserve to become a bad guy for the plot; he needed therapy. *spoiler here*
Rhys killed his family so yeah of course tamlin hates him, but rhys needs therapy too, everybody needs extensive therapy in this essay I will-
You might want to add some blank lines before your spoiler so people have to “read more” to see it.
@@melissaw3277 Oh yes it’s done now!
Well.........Tamlin killed Rhys family first so...... he did the same an eye for an eye I suppose.....
Thank you so much 🥹
ACOMAF: How To Commit Character Assassination in Under 700 Pages.
Thank you for all the hard work cari, you’re an angel 🌻🍓❤️
I hope these nonsensical plot threads and cringe smut help you heal 🥺 but really, hope youre doing ok!! Sending love and fairies your way🙏🙏
Dude I broke up with my boyfriend this Monday! I feel like crap personified and this is my second re watch of this series THIS WEEK. I feel you 😭
No but seriously why are these so good for us folk going through a breakup?! Such a great distraction haha
“It might come into play later, idk” - this just makes me laugh every time😂😂😂
🤷♀️😉
CARI, YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND ❤️🔥 I watched your first ACOTAR breakdown on a whim and by 24 min in was BEWITCHED body and soul. Every fiber of my being was invested in these characters. I truly felt like I had read the book with you and was absolutely broken. I watched other ACOTAR videos, listened to podcasts, and now I’m reading ACOMAF. You have changed my life in profound ways and shifted my existence. I will be watching this when I’m halfway through with ACOMAF, but I just wanted to tell you how much these breakdowns now mean to me 💙
Omfg 🥲🙏🥲🙏🥲
Jurian being Prince Charming and the king of hybern being Lord Farquad is fantastic.
I also love every time you play let's get it on every time Rhysand shows up. Favourite running joke.
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE!! Literally checked your account every day, I love watching these before going to sleep. Thank you so much!
Hahah next vid is next friday same time as usualll
I absolutely HATED how SJM built up this surprisingly tolerable and even likable love interest in the first blook then she turnned around and absolutely wrecked him to make the previous bad boy look better. BRUH
i just came here from your acotar video and reading this series isn't as joyful as listening to you as i crochet hehe i'm eating these plot summary vids up THANK YOU i love you!!!!! 🩷🎀
omg i love these videos bc they're an audiobook but like 10x better!!
Thank you!!!
Have i read the book like a month ago? Yes
Did i still watch the whole thing, thoroughly enjoying myself? also yes. I actually cracked up at Rhys’ interruption of the wedding!!
This is way too entertaining, can’t wait for more
Thank you!
Ok the music additions made these a MILLION times more entertaining!
… gods dammit, I have to read this garbage 🤦♀️. Dang it Cari, why do you have to be such a great story teller? Do you KNOW WHAT YOUVE DONE TO ME?! 😭
lmaooo nooo i made these so you could avoid it 😂😂😂
😂fr she almost has me checking them out, too
"Gods dammit" gives me Cresent City PTSD...
I also started reading the series after Cari’s summary after the first one lol got the audiobook from my library, it’s good for having on while doing chores and stuff
i just discovered your summaries of this series and i am absolutely loving it! i don't ever plan to read aoctar but i have a feeling the way you describe everything makes this series 100x more interesting than me actually reading it haha
i laughed throughout this entire video 😭💜 i love how you describe everything, especially lucien’s scenes. he’s so unbothered yet bothered 💀
As someone who starts books, reads half of them, doesn't read for a bit, and then forgets, I have to say thank you. your summaries make it really easy to just watch and stop whenever I stopped reading it.
Im so interested in watching you explain the whole season rather than reading it because you literally make this 1000% better! pls keep doing this
Actually had the ACOTAR series sitting in my TBR for the longest time and finally decided to start reading in order to watch your first video on ACOTAR. Happy to say I’ve now finished the entire series and I can’t wait to go through the entire recap through your videos!
i don’t know how you are able to embody every character so perfectly, you are amazing!!! i absolutely loved this and can’t wait for part two
Bahhah thank you!!!
wow just finished all the other videos and saw that this was posted an hour ago what perfect timing for me. devouring these videos because by god i hate sjm's writing but these plots are so juicy, you are doing the lord's work here i cannot get enough
😂🙏
YAY!!! I read the first two books a long time ago and I'm ready to read the 3rd one (during the final book support group weekend) and I need to know what happened without re-reading, so I'm thrilled that this one is out! Your timing is excellent!
Yesss!!!
I have been waiting for this. I was someone who loved ACOTAR then A Court of Fuck YOU and Your Feelings fell into my lap and absolutely ruined everything. I was FURIOUS. I honestly hated everything about it which makes me so sad bc my closest friends love it
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hmmm.... you hated ACOMAF?
Feyra shouldn’t be stuck with either of these dudes and this bullshit, these people all need to work on fixing themselves first before they make it more complicated.
i literally screamed! i was having hard time trying to relax and calm myself down so this is exactly what I needed
I got you!!
Torn between heartbreak that we don't have the full summary, but excited to see the rest! I love the work you put into scripting and editing these videos, and I can't wait for more!
Thank you 🥹
Cari, THANK YOU.
Fawn 😊
i've never read any of these and u better believe i am watching every last minute
😂😂😂
I think after you finish the Maas Universe, it would be fun if you did the Grishaverse afterwards if you are still doing this. Thank you so much!
Yeah her priorities are a little wobbly as her books progress 🙃🙃🙃
every time something is gonna come up later in the book or in the next book you're like: 'this might be important later, idk, i can't remember' and i love that ( 12:29 )
This is so great because I get to understand all the TT videos and references without trying to struggle through SJM's writing style.
😂🙏
Girl, you are so funny. Just wanted to make you feel appreciated for your comedic timing and storytelling habilities. I have never read these books, but I have a lot of fun with these videos.
These "entire plot" videos are phenomenal and give me so much life! Thank you for the amazing entertainment Cari!
Thank YOU!
these are my favorite videos on the internet

🥹🙏 thank you
I am LOVING these long form content plot overviews!
I'm so glad I found your channel! I watched the first couple of videos you made about ACOTAR and ACOMAF and then bought the entire series
Thanks for enjoying 🥰
you don’t understand how much i love your videos. thank you for making the longer form content even tho it seems like a lot of effort
I had to dnf this book 😭 I could not get over Tamlin becoming instantly evil and i couldn’t forgive Reysand for how opportunistic he seemed in the end of the first book.
I tried to hang in there but then when we met his found family i couldn’t stand how much they reminded me of the kind of tragic backstory OCs me and my middle school friends made up-I liked so much about the first book and really wanted to finish this series but fuggg this was tough to get through I hope I can get over my hang ups and read it
please understand that these are some of my absolute favourites videos on the internet and please never stop doing them
The only exposure I had to this series before was just knowing that it was fairy smut, but after watching your first video I'm actually kinda invested in the series in a weird way.
I am ADDICTED!! I'm taking a drawing course and I love listening to all the drama while I do my projects😂it's better than an audiobook. I know these videos must take so long to film and edit but please keep them coming!!
Thank youuuuu!!
I honestly fell out of love with this series after book one because- well never mind that's an essay for another day XD, but i'd listen to you explain literally anything
well lucky for you there actually is a scene in the next book about paint drying lmao
