  • My ford sync will randomly drop bluetooth connection to my phone and not reconnect. This was the only fix i've had that will work to get my phone and radio bluetooth connection working again.

    Dude, YOU are the MAN!! My radio got locked on a song from my phone and then wouldn’t do anything. Everything worked fine except for any media stuff - no radio, cd, phone, nothing. I even popped a cd in thinking that that might in-f*^% it, but nope! Wouldn’t play and kept saying “no disc”! I tried everything in all of the videos, including a master reset to factory settings several times - no luck. Then, I watched your video and pulled the fuse, and BAM - it booted back up and all media functions are back to normal! Thanks a million for saving me a trip to the dealer and a few hundred bucks!!

      Dylan Reeves glad it helped brother. It’s a hassle to do it this way pulling the fuse but it works. Of course eventually it’ll need to be reset again, that sync system if finicky! Someone else mentioned just doing a master reset instead but I didn’t know if that would lose all the saved stuff in the radio. I might try that next time too.Thanks for the kind words to on my editing, this was pretty early on so there’s a lot I’d do different now but it’s all for fun/hobby in my non existent free time. Fixing a blown head gasket at the moment and trying to film that whole debacle as well 😂. Thanks again man.

    • @3rdcoastobs467
      @3rdcoastobs467  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can unhook them but I think that will reset your presets, plus it’s kind of a pain undoing them every time. I found the fuse method easier because I have a lifted F250 with two batteries and I didn’t want to climb up each time. Look in your owners manual and find the fuse section where it will tell you which one is assigned to each spot. Look for one called radio or sync fuse (usually 20amp fuse) and that will be the one. I can’t stand when my Bluetooth kicks out, mine never buffered but would either fail to connect or just work. Wish Ford would fix this problem!

      I’m sorry first off I think it’s awesome you’re in Australia and watched my video, really cool stuff. My wife’s uncle and wife moved there back in 2006ish from Texas to do missionary work. They say it is absolutely beautiful there...but back you your problem...I had that issue after a maintenance update, I had to pull the fuse and reset my radio probably once a day for 5 days before it finally went away. I have read that sometimes you might need to get a factory flash from the dealership to fix it. I never had to but it might be something worth looking into in case reset doesn’t fix your problem.

      @@3rdcoastobs467 I live in Tasmania and it's one of the most beautiful places in Australia. No radio issues at this point, only Bluetooth failing to turn on. I spoke to a mate who is a Falcon specialist and he said my issue may be the actual Bluetooth module which I can get off eBay for AU$50. I'm waiting to hear back from the Hobart Ford dealership.

    • @3rdcoastobs467
      @3rdcoastobs467  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I never even knew there was a separate Bluetooth module! I just looked it up and apparently there is one on my truck too. A forum I just read said a few unlucky guys had bad modules but some just had connections that had rattled loose over time. Price on one for me is $199 and I couldn’t tell you how to access it for the life of me 🤣. I guess “luckily” mine is just a common problem that just needs a reset (thank God) because these newer vehicles are like jigsaw puzzles to take anything apart anymore. Its really finicky. Sometimes ill go 8 months or more without a problem then bam! it won't connect and it happens 1 to 4 times in the span of a month. It's very aggravating. I tried to do some update through sync that didn't work and one time I went a lonnnggg time, maybe 2 months without it connecting and it finally "fixed" itself. After that I was pissed so I went on a deep dive researching this crap and read that a guy with the same truck as mine just pulled the fuse for the radio and it fixed everything. I wish there was a permanent solution but it gets the job done, I've had to to it do much over the years I can do this job in about 30 seconds now. Don't know if that's a good thing or bad lol.
