I think missing Declan, calafiori and ondegard is a blessing in disguise, let Arteta give youngsters a chance to shine in London derby. I know skelly and nwaneri will shine.
Hear me out: Saka should be utilized as a 10 more often. You can put Sterling on the right, Martinelli on the left, Havertz up top and have timber drop into the 8 with Cala as a LB. FOOTBALL HERITAGE
i would like Arteta to experiment more with the team especially with Ethan and Skelly because I predict lots of injuries as these ballars has been playing way too much football so we should get ahead of this
Great job, the left pods and different dynamics we ow have are exciting and scary for our opponents. Add that to martinelli getting a tutor who can project him back into the limelight next year , we truly have something to enjoy enjoy and develop. Brilliant work as ever CT
Many thanks for the kind words! Right now, Cala as part of a MF, starting as a LCM works. Of course he can move into mf from cb, but as a pure 6…currently he moves too much. But this is part of his development
Ethan, timber and Califiori are different kinds of players than we have had before. I think the zinchenko role is obsolete against most of the better teams now. The players we have added don’t favor a horseshoe buildup which compresses all the play into 15 meters of tie pitch. I think Arteta is looking for a different way to play. Arteta is not copying City but he values similar things as Pep does and so he will arrive at some of the same endpoints given the players to implement them. So a wall of defenders who can defend and carry the ball looks similar to how city has evolved. We don’t have a KDB player and lots of little passes with no threat by Zinchenko is no substitute. Saka has been tasked with cutting in earlier and sending more balls in to the box.
Good stuff. One of my pre season takes was to become more matter of fact in attack. With the intent we’ve shown to access Saka quickly and that link up he’s had with Kai, it’s clear as day we are trying to embrace the bigger space side to our play. With the switches too. Totally agree on Cala, Ethan, and Timber. Ethan adds acceleration of play on the spin, Timber good in pockets too. Central access. Calafiori a different type. Marauding. Bullied his was through gaps. Associative. Free roaming.
Btw i said last season that esr and vieira are done at arsenal but you seemed to argue otherwise, I think it s pretty clear at this point. Also, I don't consider them bad players by any means, quite the opposite but arteta doesn't seems to believe that they are a fit for him for one reason or another
It always looked tough on ESR. Despite him being a unique profile mins looked hard. As for Fabio I think the no option to buy in the loan tells that the club has a big wish for him to develop in the way they want him to. Still in the plans for now IMO But hey, a young mind likes rooting for other youngsters. I’ll always want them both to succeed.
4 back: califori / gabriel / saliba/ whilte. Timber joins party in 2nd layer, because a jorginhio/partey combo would be too weak. saka could play at 10. Front three would be: trossard, havertz, sterling
Not sure if Calafiori’s ruled out but IMO he gets the start vs Spurs. They want to play a high line of so called “Angeball”? Calafiori will help them realise they just squeezed themselves up and out of the game
In an ideal world I'd still prefer to see an in form Martinelli on the LW. Sterling might end up being another forward who joins Arsenal and seems to lose all dribbling ability. But hopefully the competition helps them grow!
i would like Arteta to experiment more with the team especially with Ethan and Skelly because I predict lots of injuries as these ballars has been playing way too much football so we should get ahead of this and become comfortable in mixing it up , I really love your content broski
Nod nod nod We need the NLD video asap mate ! 😊 After the interlull disaster, it seems that we actually have a lot of quality options that could work in midfield. Do we go with an aging Partey/Jorginho pivot or could we play Timber at 8 with Califiori at LB (injury permitting)? Could Saka play number 10? Come on Harvey, we need answers……
Our line up in the next game which is enough to beat Nando’s FC, should be: Raya White Saliba Gabriel Timber Partey Zinchenko Saka Trossard Martinelli Havertz OR Raya White Saliba Gabriel Timber Partey Havertz Saka Trossard Martinelli Jesus

You think he will play them?

Saka closer to the middle will be good for everyone, it truly unlocks his playmakjng bag which casuals don’t know of yet.
Also yeah, both JT and Cala can play a true 8s, Cala only as part of a MF3 though currently.
Absolutely right 💯
I agree he would thrive there. I think because he work rate defensively is so good it goes against him switching to a 10.
I agree it just makes sense to me

A confident Nelli in the right environment (passer n overlap) and backing his instincts central in the box is a scary sight. Hope to see it again.
