I’m excited to see the new things Arteta implements next season. I was quite surprised to see him switch to a controlled style over the last two seasons. A combo of last two seasons will probably be the ideal scenario. Great work Harvey!
Sakas's creative bag needs to be unleashed next season, giving him complete access to the right halfspace and a consistent overlapping profile at RCM .
I just think Saka needs complete freedom on that right hand side. He's not rigid to a structure which limits him, like Pep had with Messi and now Foden. When he gets the ball he can just do what he likes and not what the manager wants, people around him adapt to him.
@@muzooraanthony6069 22/23 33 G/A, 23/24 35 G/A. Come on kid, basic analysis. Foden had 3 goals and assists against the big 6 last season, Saka had 8. Saka in the UCL had 8 goals and assists. My god 16/35 of his goals/assists were in big games.
I could really see the progression working with Kimmich. As the RDM he could cover for White to overlap more often, allowing Saka and Ode further central. As a RCM he would allow Odegaard to solve the LCM problem and add plenty of half space crosses. All while still giving Saka and White a top passer to bounce off. Kimmich to City could also be devastating for us, similar to Rice last season.
Contrary to popular belief, I would be glad to see most of the money spent deeper once again. As an example, I would be in dream land with a window of: Hernandez/Calafiori/Davies Kimmich Onana Doue/(would have liked Sesko) I think someone taking some minutes off Saka will improve his performance through freshness. People are discounting Jesus massively but I believe he can be the one to take those rw minutes. Both he and Martinelli will likely revert to mean, with better performances. Somewhere in between last season and the one before would be fine. Essentially, improve the system around them further, give them a little more rest and the current forwards will shine.
As I’ve said spending money deeper is the safe way to go this summer-and I think it’s what the club is gonna do. Fortify the build up and squad holes in MF and DF. Add some extra details in attack is what they are thinking currently. Not necessarily what I would do but the market environment is tricky atm. I would never say no to Kimmich. Part of me wants to stop talking about an Ode role change because there is no sample size to suggest we will actually see it. Kimmich would absolutley allow Saka more central. From RCM he would get into the same areas as vs us from RB in the UCL. But in himself offers a WC LCM too.

Harvey just a question, when you talk about more freedom in attack, what are your thoughts on transition inevitabilites such as the Rashfords and Leaos who don't have as much defensive work rate, is that a problem or a compromise Arsenal should take for future attackers and current ones such as Martinelli and Saka?
Defensive work ethic is something Arteta will always want in whoever he signs if we are being honest (but that is not to say that Arteta doesn’t feel like those players you mentioned cant be fixed). I think leaving a man on the last line would improve us in transition-of course-but it’s not the whole deal.
I'm literally Counting the days to the next season, cant wait to see how much we progress again this year as a club. Hopefully we own the league this season COYG!
im really hoping arteta is more willing to give freedom to the players and the first change i want to see is the saka-odegaard relationship. arteta needs to let go of the hand holding between the two
If you want two controllers on our LHS (which is Ok) it means it is essential for a Lw to be the marquee attacker. Want someone who is not just ok but elite at lock picking from the touchline this way. Imo, still the simplest way to reconfigure the LHS is with an overlap; makes it easier to source a Lcm too.
Hi harvey. What do you think arteta's penultimate team would look like if you were to combine teams from the past? E.g. Man City 18 mixed with Chelsea 05 and Madrid 2012 = Arteta's penultimate version
More invincibly in our defence than Chelsea 05 IMO. More hybrid defenders than out and out specialists. Atm we are a bit Madrid-y in our 1st/2nd phase build up, but a bit Spain 2012 in our final third play. Sign Onana in the summer and we are officially Bayern Munich-fied though 😂
Do you think Miguel Gutierrez, Tyrick Mitchell, Milos Kerkez or Ferdi Kadioglu would be great addition to our left side? I am not sure about their over-lap abilities (I don't know their advantages and disadvantages)
Verdi is ambipedal but you’d be stopping natural tendencies like Timber if you forced him wide. Not for us. Mitchell, Gutierrez not what we are looking for either.
Hope we don’t go with Onana, Rice midfield, the ball progression will be horrendous, unless you with Zinny inverting. I think the most important thing to do is fix the left hand side out, so we won’t be so predictable and easy to defend against, like the away leg at Bayern Munich.
Amadou Onana ? I watched him for belgium and he played loads of fast forward passes but i haven't seen him for Everton. He's definitely much better passing progressively than Rice anyway and a good strong physical presence too
For Onana the bits he has to work on is receiving off the back foot in build up and spatial awareness at times w back to goal. But he is so so underrated on the ball. Volume progressor in terms of line breakers; would become the bravest on the ball in our current midfield. But the LHS is also key.
I am not tactically educated, but I struggle to imagine that there will ever be a game where we would be better without Odegaard on the pitch. Saka and Saliba are probably our best players, but Odegaard is the most irreplaceable one.
