    If you’re getting a glossy effect it’s likely because the medium hasn’t been properly shaken up. Recommend giving it another try and you should also see that the Hive Dweller Purple will also cover a bit smoother.

      Just how much shaking do you need to do? If I shake vigorously for 30 full seconds, is it enough?

      @@christopherpeery7436 This is the way. When I got my speedpaints, they came with agitators already, which is nice. But ~$20 USD for a vortex mixer, and you're still coming out way ahead on price vs. GW. Plus, dropper bottles love you and want you to be happy, while paint pots hate you and want you to suffer.

    I’m a beginner painter and am loving the army painter speed paint starter set. I’ve ordered all of the other colours. I am painting board game minis that have many different colours. Using a zenithal prime and just ‘painting within the lines’ approach is working very well for me. When I make mistakes the speed paint comes right off very easily with a wet brush. Colour blend and mix really well if I want a different hue. I’ve had to use a few velejo model paints for some colours speed paint does not have and I find working with thick acrylics very difficult and hard to fix mistakes. So over all I’m loving the speed paint range 😃. Oh and I really enjoy your videos, you’ve tought me a lot!

    • @INCIESSE
      @INCIESSE 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      the drying time is not a huge issue for me honestly I tend to work on a couple different models at once, so while I wait on one to dry I just work on another, an you can apply normal paint delicately over top of the speedpaints without too much issue. any gripes Ive got about speedpaints though vanishes the moment you remember they are literally half the price, and when you have other things you have to spend money on like gas and groceries that is a huge consideration especially considering that on coverage, contrast, and finish the AP paints win out in performance at least half the time.

    The contrast paints gets weird coffee stains and sometimes dry so fast that blending or larger models in general becomes more difficult for even coats. Compare to paying half price and more even on larger surfaces, it sounds like an easy decision. The only bad thing with army painter speed paints is literally that you have to mix your own torqoise from your favorite blues&greens. I prefer not having 87654 paints that goes bad anyway. Dont you? :)
