What beautiful country we have. If we go fishing for just fish and don’t stop and “smell the roses” we are missing out. That brown tout was nice and that cod was chunky
Thanks so much mate. It's going to be an awesome day, I look forward to meeting you. The back is very sore. I will make my presentation from a chair if I have to. Haha
Lovely green fish! Shame, you should have kept the brownie for the table, bet the boss wasn't too happy. Great vid, lovely small water. I fish solo, so hiking up a river from my car becomes an issue.
Thanks mate. If the trout were a bit more prolific I would have definitely kept it, but their numbers are so low at the moment that I couldn't bring myself to keep it. I love my trout fishery too much.
8:07 YOUR IN THE WATER WITH THE FISH 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣, that fish stood no chance… you were literally chasing it lol What a lovely trout it was! And a very nice cod to start the day! Good to see a very healthy little waterway! How’s your back? Hope you’re feeling better, keep up the sensational work! Tight lines brother! 🎣🤙🎣🤙
Thanks so much brother. Yep, it's a ripper that little creek. My back is terrible mate. I haven't fished since last Monday evening, and even that was only for an hour. I feel as though it is slowly improving but it's a very slow process.
nice catch mate 👌 headed to lower goulburn river this weekend chase my first natives. hoping to jag a few golden perch on some shrimp and lures.. you've twisted my arm 🤣
Hey robbie! hope your back recovers soon. What's the best way to find trout streams? Is looking for creeks that run out of the main trout rivers a good idea, eg the king and ovens etc. ;)
It must be a very special ecosystem in that stream that it'll carry cod and trout in the same water. Its known that cod will live in cooler streams but they mostly used to be in warmer, broad waters and trout got confined to the mountains were I used to come from. But right next to each other, I'm going with 'remarkable' conditions.
💛...waita minnit... thirty years ago, you musta been fishin' in diapers... on the other hand, i'm gettin' close to the mid-seventies and i'm gettin' in that diaper stage...anyway, great episode and don't forget to rest, rehydrate and relax and pace yourself so you can finish the journey (it's not a race)...keep up the good work...
Thank you so much Harold. Haha that comment made me laugh so much. LOL 😂😂😂 I am 50 next year. I know I look good for my age don't I. LOL 😂 This was filmed before I hurt myself. I haven't fished since last Monday night and I'm getting a bit itchy mate. 👍👍🤣
@PhillipWhite-uz3wu WOW Phil that's awesome. Are they Bardi grubs? If so, I like to use a Paternoster rig. With a Paternoster rig there is no known at the hook, it is just looked over. I like to push the loop forward a little and create some slack, as if I'm taking the hook off. Then I loop it over the tail of the Bardi grubs and pull it right again. That will hold the Bardi grub in place. 👍
Great video mate I went fishing today and got 16 spangled perch and on Friday I got 2 carp and lost a massive cod what lb line would you recommend for cod?
Great video Robbie! Is there any difference in taste between Rainbow and Brown trout? Also, what's the legal size for them? Have a good night mate. Cheers 👍
Thanks mate. There's not a lot of difference to be honest. I find them both to be a bland fish. They're nice, but nothing special. Sadly there is no minimum size limit on them in Victoria.
Hi mate, this was filmed before I hurt my back. I will be starting off small when I get back out, just bait fishing and hope to work up to walking the streams again.
hey Robbie, love your channel, me and my old man and my sons went up to black soil gully, the Barkley river, fed by the Mcalister and the Caledonian rivers, last year it was every cast trout were on the spinners, and hard bodies, this year, nothing. didn't see one trout in 3 days of wading and casting, where have they gone? no minnows or nymphs, it was dead, just curious if you have theory why they have disappeared? 1,000 casts not a thing, but we did see a pair of huge carp in a deep pool, I wonder if they've eaten all the eggs and pushed the trout out? years ago there were never carp that high in the high country vic. where's all the trout gone!!!
Hi mate, it's a very familiar story for most people and there are a lot of theories. I filmed a Livestream a few weeks back called "where have the trout gone". Check that one out mate, hopefully it answers a few questions for you.
Thankfully we don't get Tilapia here. I know they're found in a few ponds in Melbourne but they haven't made their way down here yet. From what I've read, they will survive in cooler climates, but won't thrive and won't spawn.
Hi mate, I'm still in a world of pain. It's slowly getting better. I'm still not well enough to do any proper fishing. I'm hoping to be well enough to go yabbying some time this week.
Great you got permission to fish a new wonderful spot that holds fine big fat trout. Hopefully you will make many more great videos and have many more great adventures in your new secret spot. Tell nobody where it is, every body will be watching your videos very carefully for landmarks trying to work it out. Where is he fishing? When you hear somebody shouting hot dogs for sale get your hot dogs and you might meet up with the legendary Robbie the great come on get your hot dogs and you see tents pitched up by the riverbank and smoldering campfires,You will know your secret is out 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 enjoy it while you can 😂😂😂😂 somebody is watching you,😂😂😂
Hahaha thanks so much Vincent. That would be a disaster. The snakes would probably keep a lot of people away from this spot I reckon. How I didn't see one is a bit of a miracle. Haha
Thanks mate. Yes my back is very sore, but your issues sound worse mate, at least I have a roof over my head. I really hope that you can find somewhere to live mate. The housing situation in the country is bloody horrible isn't it.
See news at gold Coast on invasive fish over 400kg. Plus to date now over 4000.00 kg taken out of system now good chance mouth brooders could find there way into NSW SYSTEM TOP VIDEO.😂
@ do you have any tips for catching cod? I just had a trip up to the Delatite arm reserve at Eildon targeting COD and sight fished heaps of carp and even a very gold, pretty mirror carp! A few little reddies, fat 34cm rainbow and a roach! I’m still looking for a cod to jump on my line LOL! Thanks for sharing Robbie, I’ve been taking notes Haha

Thanks so much mate. I love exploring new places.
I love the stream / creek fishing you do Robbie, going to have to find some spots for myself it's very entertaining.
Thanks so much mate. I love these types of adventures, not knowing what's around the next corner or what I might catch.
Love watching skinny water fishing

What an awesome creek mate 😎
Thanks mate, it sure is a ripper. For now. It's going to get dangerously low this summer I think.

Hey robbie! hope your back recovers soon. What's the best way to find trout streams? Is looking for creeks that run out of the main trout rivers a good idea, eg the king and ovens etc. ;)
Hi mate, it's all trial and error. If you see a spot that you think looks good, try it. 👍👍
Well it was a NICE walk anyway lol!
Haha it sure was.

Thanks mate. Yeah it certainly is pretty unique. I think that pretty soon, as the water warms up the trout will most likely head upstream.

Amazing to see the cod take that tiny soft plastic Robbie. How is your back?
Thanks Phil. It's still very sore mate. I think it will be some time before I can go on a lengthy adventure like this again unfortunately.
@@robbiefishing Sorry to hear that mate. I have just taken posession of 100 grubs. What is the best way to keep them on the hook? Cheers.

@robbiefishing it's good to see your still doing it and if it gets to bad do u think you'll just go fishing in town
Hi mate, this was filmed before I hurt my back.
I will be starting off small when I get back out, just bait fishing and hope to work up to walking the streams again.
@robbiefishing yes good idea and hopefully your back will be better by cod opening I really enjoy Ur cod opening videos
❤❤❤
That thumbnail is a beauty photo or still
Thanks so much mate. It is 2 stills. I cut the trout out of one still and pasted it over the top of the cod still.
What baits do you recommend for morning cod fishing
Hi mate, yabbies, Bardi grubs, chicken etc... they will eat anything.
