Great to be back in the build process again, lovely model and I have even offered the Spitfire owner 25% (yes 25%) profit on his original purchase price of £40 and he still refuses !!!!!

Good to see you guys back safe and well. I built that Spit many years ago for a friend who “re-kitted” it first flight! What I do remember that it was an enjoyable build apart from the stock supplied leading edges and tip wood, was quite possibly the hardest balsa I had ever had to work with! So hard I thought it was anemic mahogany 😂😂

So good to see you back again guys after so long and what an iconic project you have returned to as well ! that Spitfire designed by non other than Dave Platt is still probably the best one for its day,Dave left the UK many years ago to be the designer at Topflite and introduce many new designs to the range including this Mk.9,it flies beautifully due mostly to its sheer sensible size with a decent wing loading,so many people build Spit's far too heavy especially those eliptical wings,Topflite have engineered this one to be strong yet light at the same time with enough depth to accomodate the retract gear too.You are lucky to have this one Rob and I know as always you will give it your very best.Yes breaking yourself in gently after a break is essential it is not that we forget how to build but just need to get our aeromodelling mojo back again.The donket shed workshop looks great and I can see that now you are well organised,I envy that big central walk around building table ideal for a big project such as this one,you can work from any angle unhindered.Just charging up ready to fly again today but the sun has moved around awkwardly so will wait a bit,as you know nothing worse than sun in your eyes.So we are pleased to see Geek Central in action again and producing this lovely Spitfire model,onwards and upwards and it will soon be spring again,have a lovely day there in the countryside.

This kit was designed by Dave platt :) back in the day ! Build the tail super light...
Easiest way of sheeting is using impact adhesive such as evo stick.
