I think these beat breakdowns are dope. Hip-Hop politics always say stupid shit about sample snitching but you know what.. for the younger generation trying to find their niche in music, this is the knowledge veteren cats should be teaching them.
Definitely one of my favorite beats of all-time, can't tell you how many times I've had Electric Relaxation on repeat, Midnight Marauders is a classic, every hip hop fan should have it. Shoutout to the five foot assassin, RIP.
When I get the drums right on that one, I'll definitely do it. I've got everything else lined up but the drums so far are super lame lol. Thanks for watching!
You have done an excellent job of breaking the beat. I knew it was a jazz piece but couldn't figure out how it was put together to create a masterpiece.
If this is a new series then I'm definitely can't wait to tune in to your videos. Breakdown videos are really interesting. Almost like you get into the mind of some of the greatest producer in hip hop and recreate magic.
Man, i love these tutorials. Really nice job on the explanation and on the recreation itself. It shows that it is not a matter of quantity, but quality and nice taste picking the sounds and the simplicity of a underrated music production. Keep this going brother, excellent.
this was exactly what I needed! excellent video, explanation, visual aids and I definitely feel like I learned something valuable about sampling. many many thanks.
Nice one dude. I honestly don't have a maschine or anything like that but really like to watch how and where these songs came from. Keep it up, continue showing more videos like this.
This is dope bruh! I love it! I hope cats don't get the wrong idea in what you're doing. You are paying homage to all the great producers of golden era hip hop & that is a beautiful thing. With it being February, lots of peeps consider this J. Dilla month. I know the month is about over, but I know a lot of "we" Dilla fans wouldn't mind a break down of a favorite Dilla track of your choice. As far as my personal favorite, it would be you breaking down Pete Rock's - T.R.O.Y.! That is my all time favorite hip hop track! My man JVCforce did a nice remake as well. Good to see you back on the grind! I need to get with it myself, lol. I'm looking forward to this new series of yours! Keep pushing!
Can you try Chance the Rapper's song "NaNa", the sample that plays through the song is "Red Clay", which was also used by ATCQ in "Sucka N**ga". There's also a church choir sound that plays through the song.. I can't tell whether that's a sample or not. If you can attempt to do it, that would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
This is a nice channel.. so much potential here. Keep pushin it and as much as I love the fact that your breaking down the real classics I think general viewers may pay even more attention if you broke down some future or drake tracks. But keep goin bro!
I do enjoy watching , this is one of my favorite songs of all time. Can you breakdown Lyrics To Go from Tribe Called Quest, Chief Rocka from Lords of the Underground, What You Want from NINE, Brooklyn Zoo from Ol' Dirty Bastard, Broken Language from Smooth Da Hustler?
I know this is your first video, and you probably won't respond, but I want to let you know that you work wonders doing these old school instrumentals justice! Keep up the good work, you should do Poe Mans Dreams By Kendrick Lamar, that would be amazing.
Good Job, can you breakdown a bunch of "tracks" that never made it to radio???? And only a handful of ppl care about..... Much love from sum random place.......
+bdorocke In the J. Cole song "Forbidden Fruit" Feating Kendrick Lamar Samples the same sample from Ronnie Foster "Mystic Brew". It's not the same instrumental it's just the same sample.
Hey man, awesome series. I had a question: why do you chop the bassline and drums into 9/4 pieces if we're just going to loop them in their entirety anyways? My bad if this is a dumb question.
Not a dumb question at all. Having all of those sections allows for more control over the tempo and rhythm and let's you be sure that your sample matches up with your sequencer tempo exactly.
Sandurz I would like to say that you are one of the only producers on TH-cam who actually inspired me to produce and I got the machine two years ago because of that. Please check out my channel and give an honest constructive critique over my beats.
Wow...just realized that this song and Forbidden Fruit are practically the same song. The only difference is that they are in different keys and the drums are different.
I miss this guy's beat breakdowns so much
He passed away
@@miiiiisvibes wait what? Is that true?
@@vickjr98 he hasn't posted on Twitter in the past two months, so I guess it's possible, but I doubt it

If possible souls of mischief - 93 til infinity
When I get the drums right on that one, I'll definitely do it. I've got everything else lined up but the drums so far are super lame lol. Thanks for watching!
Oh yeah! That would be dope too! Then another fav of mine is Main Source's - Looking At The Front Door! My man Large Pro killed it!
Sandurz Did you ever get the drums down for 93 til Infinity? I'd love to see that one.
@@Sandurz 93 till infinity please
Let’s get 93 til infinity, you’ve had 7 years to work on the drums 😉
Gotta appreciate the level of detail that went into ATCQ tracks. So many sources of songs to make one beautiful song.
In my top 5 beats of all times ATCQ has two spots. Scenario and Electric Relaxation. 😎
I miss Sandurz

Sandurz you crazy for this one! This was definitely not the easiest one to remake and you killed it.
This video series will be the reason my production reaches the next level.
It’s so easy but crazy addicting what he did with the sfx! I love the creativity
I'm just now coming across your channel. This was a fly deconstruction!

Same sample as j Coles song with Kendrick
I hope you're joking but the Cole/Kendrick song was using this instrumental.
+bdorocke In the J. Cole song "Forbidden Fruit" Feating Kendrick Lamar Samples the same sample from Ronnie Foster "Mystic Brew". It's not the same instrumental it's just the same sample.
Yeah but he kinda did a simpler sampling job and just added his own drums. Prefer tribes for sure
