guitarman64100 oddly enough, the beat was simpler than I imagined haha I guess I should’ve known it was a sample, but I imagined all the horns and strings being played live and original. The drums are crazy, but I knew that already. Just blaze is honestly nuts 🔥
Wow Just Blaze can really lay it down on the drums, cool to see how multi talented producers/beat makers can be. This series is opening my eyes to the process and what goes into making some of the songs I've always enjoyed makes me appreciate them even more. Keep up the good work!
Lol and that's even him my dumb ass didn't look very close now I can see it's not him. That's the drummer from 1500 or Nothing this band he's worked with forever. But that guy kills it! Glad to hear you're digging it.
I'm pretty sure the dude on the drums is not Just Blaze. He's actualy recording that video and the guy in the drums is the drummer from 1500 or Nothin, the band that provided the "musical bodies" to some of his productions.
THAT PART. Just Blaze is and has been a master producer for a long time BUT THAT is 1500 or nothing...one of the different musicians he has used in the past
Thoughts on doing shook ones? its always blown my mind how the sample was only recently discovered a few years ago. Great series as always Sandurz, keep it up
I’m not entirely sure but based on my internet research I believe it’s not Just Blaze playing those live drums for Show Me What You Got but it’s actually Kenneth “Bam” Alexander from 1500 or Nothin’, a collective of live instrumentalists that Just Blaze regularly worked with
Nope. Live drums on just beats are always played by someone else. Hovi Baby was Lupe Fiasco. Show Me What You Got was Larrance Dopson from 1500 or Nothin
Started making music just about 6 months ago and I've learned a ton from your videos. Wanna just give a shout out dude, super cool to put content out like this for anyone looking to learn more, much appreciated man and I hope you keep it up because it's hugely helpful
This Is My Favorite Hip-Hop Song - Sandurz - Touch The Sky - Kanye West [Produced By Justin Smith DJ JustBlaze] [Year: 2005] [Album: Late Registration]
First off these videos are DOPE. Your channel deserves more views in my opinion. I think my favorite beat of all time would be The Game-Dreams. It would be pretty dope to see that. Keep up the good work man!!
Coming over from reddit and i LOVE these man, much respect for taking the time to show how things can get broken down into smaller parts, making it easier to understand. If you could, could you do one for RATKINGS track "So It Goes?" Theres a lot going on so it may be tough but it would be beyond dope. Much love and appreciation!
Nice remake...one correction tho...Just Blaze plays the drums a little but that wasn't him on "Show Me What You Got" it was a killer dude by the name of Bam Alexander.
Again great video and breakdown Sandurz, I've listen to this Kanye's beat a lot of times and especially to the kick drum, there is some kind of tom loop or high tom sound layered on the kick and the low freq from the kick are cut off or something that make that kick so round and bouncy. any idea ?
love your videos, you probably know now after 3 years ago that, its 1500 or Nothing the musical group on those drums on Show me What you Got anyways How come no more new videos?
Also, wouldn't it make more sense to tune down the sample 1/2 semitones using the classic time/tempo algorithm before applying the more complex time stretching algorithm? That way the audio file would be a little closer to the target tempo before applying the primary time stretcher, maybe causing less distortion, artifacts, etc. because the stretcher doesn't have to work as hard. I always figured that was one of reasons Just Blaze tuned down the sample.
+Drew Pirt I think generally when you do a pitch shift and a time stretch simultaneously it'll figure out the best way aka the simplest computationally speaking. So it would essentially do exactly what you say automatically, but without having to commit to a certain tuning before hand.
Awesome videos.. Question about what software you used for the advanced time stretching/warping at the top of the video? That did not look like part of the Maschine software. I'm still using 1.8 so if it's part of the update.. I need that!!! BTW subbed after the first video.
Lightskin Bro Hey man, you probably know this by now, sorry I'm 3 months late. He was using Ableton Live if I understand your question correctly. Ableton's Warp feature allows you to place custom warp markers (the yellow tabs) on the beats you want, and you can time-stretch the piece to the desired tempo
Did this guy die or something? I really remember when I had no idea how to really sample and I'd watch his channel. Hasn't posted since about that time
after slowing down the sample to the desired bpm, would it then be possible to go ahead and sample that? I work on fl studio and have been having problems with sampling the slowed down version
Hey Sandurz, Nice channel. However, that wasn't Justin playing drums. It was Kenneth "Bam" Alexander (then of the production group 1,500 Or Nothing) destroying those skins - at the instance of Just Blaze though!!!
As far as I know, the slicer in FL studio does this already? Not totally sure about that since I don't make beats inside of it very often but I'm pretty sure auto-slice in the built in slicer can do that. Someone can correct me on that if I'm wrong lol.
im sorry im 7 years late, but that's not Just on the live drums for show me what u got! 1500 or nothing (a collective of producers) did the additionel live drums on the track :)
This beat is more complex than I ever imagined, much respect to Just Blaze
guitarman64100 oddly enough, the beat was simpler than I imagined haha I guess I should’ve known it was a sample, but I imagined all the horns and strings being played live and original. The drums are crazy, but I knew that already. Just blaze is honestly nuts 🔥
Not a music producer or anything, but this is really entertaining for some reason.
That's good news to me. Don't want only interest producers so I'm happy to hear it.
Yup guess who's on third?
James Price Lupe steal like lupin the 3rd
Here like ear till I’m beer on the curb.
@@georgecampbell3687 peach fuzz buzz but bit on the verge

@Himesh Chauhan bottle shaped body like Mrs. Buttet worth
those drum patterns are mind-expanding. just blaze is a beast!
Didn't know he played the drums. That explains how good he is at filling in space in his beats.
Damn. I didn't realise the bassline was that crazy. Also, Just Blaze is a monster on the drums.
koolkoori 1500 or nothing**
@@lookadoo709 nerd
The original beat breakdown. You were ahead of your time. Thanks for the classics
ur beat breakdown series is clean asf I've been watching all of them keep up the good work it's dope
I'd love to see the Madlib track "Bistro", or any Madlib for that matter.
That wasn't Just Blaze on the drums. It was 1500 Or Nothing.
+deadmau5FAN54675435 u sux
specifically Bam
Steven Hudson I asked Just Blaze on twitter he said Bam of 1500 or nothing played the drums.
That guy on the drums was Bam of 1500 or Nothing, Just Blaze said that.

oh lol just watched the whole clip, that makes more sense cause that guy was amazing he had to be a pro
Sandurz it would be aaron spears i think!
I'm pretty sure the dude on the drums is not Just Blaze. He's actualy recording that video and the guy in the drums is the drummer from 1500 or Nothin, the band that provided the "musical bodies" to some of his productions.

One of the best Kanye beats
I LOVE that bassline. That could be used for awhole novah beat! Genius!
the snare just blaze used for the verse is in the beginning of Move on up...the two snare hits that kick the band in.
It would be life its self if you broke down Kanye West Stronger.
Daft Punks - Harder Better Faster Stronger. That's the gist.
@@dollarworldmarket777 due to the extra synths that were added it's definitely more
yeah hbfs is actually kinda minimalistic with the instrumentation
Beautiful breakdown of one of my favorite instrumentals either. Just Blaze is a genius
Dat bassline though DAMN!!
It would be cool in you could do intn'l player so anthem in a future episode maybe. That's a pretty cool beat
this beat is sick
can you do I'm God by Clams Casino? Its one of of the most beautiful beats i've ever heard
Man I love that song. I'll give it a go and see if it'd make a good episode. Good idea!

Just Blaze got creative with this sample 🔥
Lovin these beat breakdowns. I'd love to see you give a go at So Far To Go- J Dilla or Curls-MF DOOM. Keep up the good work
Another J Dilla beat to break down would be Workinonit. It's one of the most complex beats I've ever heard.

Awesome. Only feedback: the transition sound between sections might be a bit too loud compared to the rest of the video.
Thanks! And noted. Was having the weirdest problems with Premiere while editing this one so I didn't get to really nail down a lot of the audio.
