Good afternoon Nancy and Athena, it seems so long since your last video was out, but i hope that you both and Gena(forgive me Gena is i've spelt your name wrong flower) have had a nice time off. I'm going to be selfish here and say that your video's have been much missed by me, but probably a lot more people besides, but i know that there needs to be a time to have a break and recuperate again. Hopefully you are back firing on all cylinders again and with your need play things to test out and try, hee hee hee. I'm looking forward to seeing your brothers quilt finished, but probably not as much as he is. A quilt in its self is a handy thing to have, but a handmade quilt that has been made with stitches of love, that is something so very special. It is kept and inherited and kept and inherited, even if down the years it has aged disgracefully, it is and should always be loved and wanted. I hope that you are all safe and kept going in work, because this horror that is transfer-sing across the world is just leaving destruction in its wake, leaving people out of work and home. Keep safe and speak to you next time girls. Crafty hugs from Norah, Glenochil Village, Central Scotland
Thank You Nancy. I’ve been reluctant to try paper piecing, but I have some of the It’s Sew Emma Papers to try. Your tips are helpful. Those products also look very helpful. Thanks again, 💜 Chris-Raleigh NC
Susan Ferguson : did you order the Acorn Products? I am a newbie from Montreal, Quebec and cuz the borders are closed, I cannot go to the store. Do you have the Internet address?? Thanks.
Great video! Glad to see you again! Are you concerned at all about the bulk of the seams on the last round of paper piecing if you don't in fact trim them with the add a quarter ruler? That would be my only concern if I were to try the economy block papers. It is nice to have the last round fit without trimming if the bulk doesn't interfere. Thanks!!
Hi Cindy - Nope the bulk isn't an issue. The seams are not all 1/4", either a bit smaller or larger but that isn't a problem - I did forget to show how to trim those seams if the fabric is light and causes shadowing - I'll show that next time when I show how to put this quilt on point - Nancy
Hello, Nancy! This is about you Lone Star quilts tutorials. I made nine approximately 30” lone star squares for a quilt. This quilt was in a 2014 McCall’s quilting magazine. I had previously made one lone star probably 6 to 8 years ago. It turned out okay. For this McCall’s 9 Lone Star quilt, I found you on TH-cam and I thought all my stars were done well. All the seams lined up, and I pieced the setting triangles and block as you showed. My problem is that I didn’t know how to square up each 30” block, therefore I measured 3/8” off each point and did my best to square it up that way. Unfortunately, my blocks are not the same size and I am having trouble trying to sew the blocks. Do you have any advice for me? Not sure how to email you. Thanks. I hope you can help me. Thank you for all your excellent videos!
Hi Marie, I'm glad you found my channel but for something like this I think an email might be a better way to communicate - QuiltingWithNancy@gmail.com - send me some photos too :) - Nancy
Hi Claudette - that is the wonder of paper piecing :) With PP you sew on the line so that your blocks are perfect every time. This technique is truly loved by those that love points and blocks that are as close to perfect as possible.
Hi Nancy, I have watched many of your TH-cam videos. You are so familiar. I don't know where I know you from. I am from Michigan Center, Michigan near Jackson. Have you taught any classes neat by.
Hello Evy-Ann - Thanks for watching! Yes we have a website that has all my books and patterns available to ship, although shipping to Norway will be a bit more expensive, but we also have them all as EBooks so you can purchase one and either read it on your tablet or computer or print them out. Thanks!! Nancy
Hi Karen, sorry for the delay. We just got the E-pattern version of the Lone Star Size Chart added to the website :) www.onpoint-tv.com/product-category/patternsandbooks/

I have used the Acorn Products for piecing a quilt. They work very well and make everything very accurate.

I don't see this better than the that old way
Isn't it great that there are many options for all those that love to quilt? :)
Why do you place the pattern flip up with the paper up when you sew??

Hi :) - No, not yet but I was raised in the Stockbridge area, maybe we met in high school, you never know :)
Thank you for this video 😊👍 love your book, do you ship to Norway? And do you have a web site where I can find it? 😊🙏

The reason they suggest to iron the item is to set and dry the glue before sewing.
yep
Is the lone star going to be available as a download for us overseas followers please?

If you don’t trim those big dark bunny ears shadow through the light fabric
I don't generally find that to be an issue, but if you want to trim, trim :)
