    I'm a long time user of Reaper and have been using Superior Drummer since 2016. I've always had separate tracks for the drums but never had to convert stems to audio. Knowing Reaper, I tried several things but with no success. I don't know why I do this when the first thing I should have done was a simple search. Bang, your video was close to the top and clearly showed the simple steps I need to take. Thank you for your efforts.

    This was super helpful for Reaper although i was aware how to seperate individual tracks for ezdums. Rendering it into audio was something i learned watching this. Thanks for sharing this.

    This is exactly what I had been looking for. Former Pro tools user and I knew how to do it Pro Tools, but not Reaper. In Pro Tools all you had to do was arm the main Midi track and the additional sub audio tracks and it would record the midi to audio. I'm so happy that I can do this in Reaper. Thank you. :-)

    Is this recording it straight as wav files with my roland edrum instead of recording it in midi? If so, can you tell how?

    • @scheve71
      @scheve71  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is taking the midi from EZ drummer and converting the midi to wav files so you can mix. If you're trying to record your edrum to wav files in Reaper that would be something entirely different. Are you trying to record from an electronic roland drum kit?

    • @boydagust9179
      @boydagust9179 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @scheve71 i cant find any videos on youtube recording it straight as wav files on reaper using a roland edrum. I wonder if thats possible? If you know how. Can you tell me here how its done? Thank you!

    • @scheve71
      @scheve71  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@boydagust9179 I don't know exactly how that is done, but I can give you the general concept. I would guess that there is a stereo out of the drum module, so you will have to go out of that, and into a usb interface. If you want stereo (a left and a right track) you will need a usb interface with two inputs. In Reaper, you would then make a single track for left and one for right and set one track to record the lest input and the other to record the right.It would be the same if you want to record each drum separately - the drum module would need a separate output for each drum, and then you would need a usb interface with the same number of inputs, and you would set up a separate track for each of those in Reaper. Hope this helps!

    Probably a stupid question, but once you have your audio tracks in Reaper like you do at the end, how do you export the whole thing as a one wav - file?
    I've recorded the drums and added a new track with guitar and now I want to export the whole thing out as a wav (or other audio format) to send it to my friends, youtube etc.

    • @scheve71
      @scheve71  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not a stupid question at all - I'm using an older version so this may vary slightly, but go up to the "File" drop down menu and select "Render" and you will get a dialogue box with a bunch of options. Next to the "directory" box there's a button to "browse" and you can select where you want the file to end up. File name is obvious - just put a name in there, then look for "output format" and click on that to select the format. I usually do wav files. For mp3's I think I had to install some other plug in and that was a long time ago, so if you don't see that, that's what's wrong. Make sure "channels" says stereo, and then hit the "Render 1 file" button and it will render the audio to the folder you chose. If you're getting red in the output EQ, then go to "view" and then "master track" and the master track will show up in your mixer and you and nudge that down so things aren't clipping.

    Just what i was looking for. The only problem is when i render to stem The wavs extend past the midi and get out of sync.. i can't figure out why. even with ezdrummer being my only plugin. Any help would be appreciated.
    Edit: I figured out a fix. There is a rendering tab under preferences. I'm sure its system dependent but I checked the first 3 boxes and "When freezing render the entire track..." Now everything looks good.

    Hey there. Once you convert it to wave file , which mean I can't programming my drum track via MIDI anymore??

    • @scheve71
      @scheve71  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, that's true - once it's converted you can't edit anymore, so you have to make sure you're done with the writing part and committed to moving into mixing.
