Ok, follow this path, have a lot of the strongest weapons, high stats is recommend (example, 100 explosives, 100 guns, etc), take power armour to get power armour, save a lot, and finally level 25+ is recommended. fuck me.
He was actually using salvaged t45d, something you may obtain from killing the heavy shock troops of the NCR which does not require power armor training to use. Does not confer all the same bonuses as actual t45d and may(will) get you mistaken for a profligate troop by the brave men of the Legion.
Getting the armour is far simpler by just keeping an eye out for a stealth boy or planning beforehand to get one as as soon as possible. Wearing light armour or none at all you can easily reach the bodies, loot them and turn back with just one charge.

Though maybe it can lore wise and just isn't in the game because of engine restrictions, same reason the ballistic fist doesn't eat shotgun shells and the service rifle bayonet mod was cut.
The good thing about doing the old world blues dlc first is the heartless perk that keeps you from being poisoned ever again, so cazadors are no longer an issue
To be fair, it is very easy. All you need to do to get it is join brotherhood, get power armor and a gauss rifle, get veronica, and be smart about fighting the enemies and it is very easy. I killed all the deathclaws without getting hit by keeping on the tall rocks and sniping with gauss rifle.
just go to Hidden Valley, find the right bunker where the brotherhood of steel are, talk to the elder, he will have u do 4 sets of jobs, and then u can use power armor.

Considering i have played on very hard hardcore in vanilla many times before i know that these tactics do work.

The gun in question is technically a machine gun, "a fully automatic or select fire weapon" as well as assault rifle, "a rifle, such as the M1 Garand, M14, or AR15, designed for use in tactical assaults". As for length, it is in fact a carbine, making it all three.

Easier way to get the T-51B power armor 1. Do the brotherhood of steel quest til you get training 2. Go to the brother hood safe house:: you will find amazing weapons there as well such as the Tesla cannon, the T-51B power armor and, a mini gun *optional* 3. The armor is in low quality so you might want to go to a vendor and repair it or if your repair skill is high enough you can repair it yourself.
When I first found this place I must've died like 20 times. Hardest area of the game - save that SIlver mine where you gotta get the Enclave helmet, or Dead Wind Cavern.
I did this with just a Anti-Material Rifle, Armor Piercing rounds and 75+ Stealth. No need for all this. Just get on top of a rock (Must be high enough so that Deathclaws cannot reach you.), bring a lot of rounds and maybe a back up gun with a lot of ammo, know the locations of other rocks incase you need a position change, High Stealth and be sure to save often. Do this and a Deathclaw will never touch or see you.

There was nothing there, just a tri-beam Laser (full condition) and Multiplas Rifle (40% condition). I looked and looked and that exact spot had no 2 dead guys. And no they weren't buried beneath the pile of deathclaws. Just a 2020 update. This is the Fallout New Vegas (GOG distro) on Windows 10 Pro PC.
If you want the remnant power armour your best off doing the reuniting the enclave remnants as they will give you the power armour training and a full set I'm pretty sure it's not as dangerous there is a part of the quest where you have to fight night kin and some super mutants so just be careful if your doing the quest.
The places you can easily receive power armor are as follows: The radioactive crater with one suit of T-51b Brotherhood of Steel power armor the crater is full of centaurs that is South of Black Mountain where nightkin are and North of Hidden Valley past bark scorpions. The 3rd floor of the Repconn Headquarters South of New Vegas and directly North of Black Mountain with two suits of Brotherhood T-51b Brotherhood of Steel power armor it has Friends, Protectrons, and Mr. Handy robots possibly attacking you if you are not careful close or in the facility itself. The last place is in the middle of the destroyed ares near Nellis Air force Base , has one suit of T-51b Brotherhood of Steel power armor, and is the most dangerous unless you have befriended the Boomers in which case it is the easiest. If you obtain any power armor though you still have to complete the Brotherhood of Steel questline (at the end of which you receive a T-45d power armor set which is factionless). or "For Auld Lang Syne" that is Arcade Gannon's companion quest. You can also do "I Could Make You Care" Veronica's companion quest to get several T-51b Brotherhood of Steel power armor sets without karma consequence from a confrontation with some Brotherhood of Steel Paladins with other things as well to loot. If you wish for Remnant power armor you will either have to do as this video instructs and get the helmet separately or try to get it from the Enclave group in "For Auld Lang Syne".
Just wanted to say this to anyone who still plays but basically you can do this without killing any of them but I guarantee the Mother will lead you to attempting it multiple times. Basically bring a good amount of Stealth Boys and go into sneak mode and just make your way around. Get their attention then climb a slightly higher rocky area which will cause the Deathclaws to leave the area in an attempt to reach you BUT I reccomend you only take the 2 guns, loot one body and then drag the other one away from the area because the Deathclaws eventually run back to you and the Mother is insanely fast and hits very hard. Repeat the process if needed. If overencumbered just swim to the nearby Legion camp with the body being dragged and store everything in a safe container then come back to loot the remaining stuff. I did this in hardcore mode at level 12 and was so happy haha just need training for power armour now though
I cheesed this hardcore and killed the first 2 sets of death claws, (I didn't have a Fat Man), then I used stealth boys afterwards to get both sets of armor. I say it's cheesing, but if the game didn't want to allow this method, why hand out stealth boys 🤷♂️
lol after firing the fat man I saw one of the prospectors with the t51 flying across the map, I went to sniper nest to get the Gobi after and then he fell right next to the crate with the gobi in XD
On a PS3, leveled to around 20. Been saving 40mm Grenades the whole game in order to use them here. Using the special Grenade Machine Gun called "Mercy". It worked great, just buried the Deathclaws in Frag Grenades, loads of fun! Took out the stragglers with a big sniper rifle (and a little dose of Steady). Both sets of armor were there, but I passed them twice looking for them, so they do blend in a bit. Then the bad news. "...without needing to do any quests or anything". Of course, you still need to do those quests and things in order to Learn How To Use the Power Armor. Unless there is some way around that.
+David Rowan Rip life, btw you have to grind the BOS questline what is quite the annoyance.... Scout missions... vault missions.... a mountain radio station mission which is only possible with 60 science.... Oh its a grind...
For everyone else wondering why the armor didn't spawn. This is glitched and you need to already be wearing the power armor helmet or it won't spawn in. If you fast travel to the nearby location with the helmet on and then approach the location where the armor spawns it will be there. The deathclaws will be there as well.
I did all this at level 3, I killed at least 5 Deathclaws and one of the was a mother, I did it with a 10mm pistol, of course on Very easy difficulty haha, luckily I was fast enough to loot everything and run back, I jumped of the nearest cliff and kept saving and going back to last save because it saves you from falling to your death.
Been at this shit for about an hour now. Spent 30 min killing the death claws. Spent 30 min trying to get the corpses to spawn. This is really pissing me off. I'm not about to leave and half to kill the death claws again just for a chance at the power armor spawning. Quick tip; don't do this as a melee character. Save your self from the mental pain.
Found both suits of power armor. (Remnants and T-51b) Came here with thump-thump and a shit ton of other explosives. Thanks for this guide all these years later!
i recommend upgrade sneak skills first, and then used sniper rifle/Gobi Campaign Scout Rifle/Christine Cos Silencer Rifle for critical hit againts deathclaws edit: stealth suit will come in handy too, or recon armour for cheap stealth suit
I love how he's like "This is the best way, it's free!" and then when he's swimming across "Oh, and there's Deathclaws by the dozen" Even "Free", that's a hefty price to pay!
GUYS! You can also use Anabelle (Black mountain) and Thump-Thump (nellis)...they are effective too just make sure you have enough missiles and grenades for the grenade launcher (i used some high explosive missiles too)
Best tactic is gobi sniper Boone and EDE sneak left up the ramp take out the first few deathclaws then continue Onwards Boone and EDE perception bonuses show you where they all are giving you a better chance of taking them down. Also Boone and EDE go beast mode so just sit back and wait it out.

Deathclaw Promontory spawns can be pretty funky, but clapping two momma claws and their babies for the best Power Armor in the game is worth it

You should try doing a guide on the 'Very Hard' difficulty setting. Trust me, the weapons and tactics you used will be very inneffective.

He's got the gun runners arsenal dlc. Once you get the dlc you can buy the mini nukes off people who sell guns.
If you want the remnant power armour your best off doing the reuniting the enclave remnants as they will give you the power armour training and a full set I'm pretty sure it's not as dangerous there is a part of the quest where you have to fight night kin and some super mutants so just be careful if your doing the quest.
I only found one multiplas rifle
The places you can easily receive power armor are as follows: The radioactive crater with one suit of T-51b Brotherhood of Steel power armor the crater is full of centaurs that is South of Black Mountain where nightkin are and North of Hidden Valley past bark scorpions. The 3rd floor of the Repconn Headquarters South of New Vegas and directly North of Black Mountain with two suits of Brotherhood T-51b Brotherhood of Steel power armor it has Friends, Protectrons, and Mr. Handy robots possibly attacking you if you are not careful close or in the facility itself. The last place is in the middle of the destroyed ares near Nellis Air force Base , has one suit of T-51b Brotherhood of Steel power armor, and is the most dangerous unless you have befriended the Boomers in which case it is the easiest. If you obtain any power armor though you still have to complete the Brotherhood of Steel questline (at the end of which you receive a T-45d power armor set which is factionless). or "For Auld Lang Syne" that is Arcade Gannon's companion quest. You can also do "I Could Make You Care" Veronica's companion quest to get several T-51b Brotherhood of Steel power armor sets without karma consequence from a confrontation with some Brotherhood of Steel Paladins with other things as well to loot. If you wish for Remnant power armor you will either have to do as this video instructs and get the helmet separately or try to get it from the Enclave group in "For Auld Lang Syne".

yeah there was NO POWER ARMOR when I went here just some plasma and laser rifles, and I'm playing on 360
I went there and I found both armors, all I did was sneak and not use explosives

Juan Garcia I'm level 50 and I shot them all with Raul and E-DE and there still wasn't anything just some rifles.
I use an Anti-Material rifle(GRA) and explosive ammo and some where they can’t get to me

Just wanted to say this to anyone who still plays but basically you can do this without killing any of them but I guarantee the Mother will lead you to attempting it multiple times. Basically bring a good amount of Stealth Boys and go into sneak mode and just make your way around. Get their attention then climb a slightly higher rocky area which will cause the Deathclaws to leave the area in an attempt to reach you BUT I reccomend you only take the 2 guns, loot one body and then drag the other one away from the area because the Deathclaws eventually run back to you and the Mother is insanely fast and hits very hard. Repeat the process if needed. If overencumbered just swim to the nearby Legion camp with the body being dragged and store everything in a safe container then come back to loot the remaining stuff. I did this in hardcore mode at level 12 and was so happy haha just need training for power armour now though
I cheesed this hardcore and killed the first 2 sets of death claws, (I didn't have a Fat Man), then I used stealth boys afterwards to get both sets of armor. I say it's cheesing, but if the game didn't want to allow this method, why hand out stealth boys 🤷♂️

I got to where the prospectors are and only found a plasma rifle and a tri beam laser rifle, the bodies weren’t there
lol after firing the fat man I saw one of the prospectors with the t51 flying across the map, I went to sniper nest to get the Gobi after and then he fell right next to the crate with the gobi in XD

I spent 5 FUCKING hours of my life and the prospects weren't even there
On a PS3, leveled to around 20. Been saving 40mm Grenades the whole game in order to use them here. Using the special Grenade Machine Gun called "Mercy". It worked great, just buried the Deathclaws in Frag Grenades, loads of fun! Took out the stragglers with a big sniper rifle (and a little dose of Steady). Both sets of armor were there, but I passed them twice looking for them, so they do blend in a bit.
Then the bad news.
"...without needing to do any quests or anything". Of course, you still need to do those quests and things in order to Learn How To Use the Power Armor. Unless there is some way around that.
+David Rowan Rip life, btw you have to grind the BOS questline what is quite the annoyance.... Scout missions... vault missions.... a mountain radio station mission which is only possible with 60 science.... Oh its a grind...
For everyone else wondering why the armor didn't spawn. This is glitched and you need to already be wearing the power armor helmet or it won't spawn in. If you fast travel to the nearby location with the helmet on and then approach the location where the armor spawns it will be there. The deathclaws will be there as well.
No you don't need the helmet, it just only spawns in the afternoon of the in-game day
I did all this at level 3, I killed at least 5 Deathclaws and one of the was a mother, I did it with a 10mm pistol, of course on Very easy difficulty haha, luckily I was fast enough to loot everything and run back, I jumped of the nearest cliff and kept saving and going back to last save because it saves you from falling to your death.

Been at this shit for about an hour now. Spent 30 min killing the death claws. Spent 30 min trying to get the corpses to spawn. This is really pissing me off. I'm not about to leave and half to kill the death claws again just for a chance at the power armor spawning. Quick tip; don't do this as a melee character. Save your self from the mental pain.
After a gruelling hour with no mini nukes, 15 sneak and unrivaled rock jumping skills...
The bodies weren't even there. :|

Found both suits of power armor. (Remnants and T-51b) Came here with thump-thump and a shit ton of other explosives. Thanks for this guide all these years later!
I cant find it when i come to the location, i think i didn't spawn in
i recommend upgrade sneak skills first, and then used sniper rifle/Gobi Campaign Scout Rifle/Christine Cos Silencer Rifle for critical hit againts deathclaws
edit: stealth suit will come in handy too, or recon armour for cheap stealth suit

If you want to get T51-b/R. Power Armor early in game you should take a Stealth Boy and sneak trough really easily.
Man its hard to kill dos things but if you have a plasma caster it gets way easy 😥

GUYS! You can also use Anabelle (Black mountain) and Thump-Thump (nellis)...they are effective too just make sure you have enough missiles and grenades for the grenade launcher (i used some high explosive missiles too)
I went to the place but I didn't see both of the prospectors bodies, all I found was just a regular plasma rifle.
The XP you get from this is GLORIOUS.
Best tactic is gobi sniper Boone and EDE sneak left up the ramp take out the first few deathclaws then continue Onwards Boone and EDE perception bonuses show you where they all are giving you a better chance of taking them down. Also Boone and EDE go beast mode so just sit back and wait it out.
