Jonnie W was a great guest for the podcast. Very quick comebacks, and several times I literally laughed out loud. And holy moly, I can't believe we are halfway through episode #177 only just now hearing Dusty's BB story. If he ever writes a memoir, I'll listen to the audiobook!
JW was a SOLID contribution 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 - good jokes, good voice, good timing. - intelligent but for the sake of the joke/ conversation rather than his own ego. Can’t wait to binge all his stuff now!
Dusty.. that feeling of not wanting to leave your kids with strangers never goes away! My kids started off in public school which was also hard. When they came home during COVID, we started homeschooling and never went back. Everyone has to do what's best for them but for me and my house, my kids are staying with me! lol!
My favorite part of these episodes is Aaron giggling in the corner every time an ad is read...especially when Dusty joins in and watching Nate (the bossman) not laughing while staring at them. Missed you this week, Nate! I look forward to more information on the grandslam Nateland...
-But it saves a lot of money. When you're just coming up as a comic, that's saving money. -But does it save money? -Oh, I don't know. That made me laugh way too hard.
Hello Folks!! Clay Stoker here. I also remember just having a tub of just random Lego. So we might have another Mandela effect going on here. Since the beginning of the plastic Lego creation, they have had sets. They sold both as they do now. You most certainly can buy sets and boxes of just pieces.. Also, as far as I know, all Lego stores have a pick a brick wall as well
Tristan said last week that if Nate isn’t there, you guys shouldn’t put out an episode. But my favorite episodes are the ones where Nate is gone. Plus it’s also pretty funny to have a podcast named after someone who isn’t on it. Pound sand Tristan!
One reason why a lot of people know about Chuck Yeager is that the film “The Right Stuff” was a pretty epic. He is portrayed as a respected man in the movie. It’s like the grandfather of Tom Hanks’s Apollo 13 movie. The men in the film are portrayed as the great men of their generation-played by exceptional actors, like Sam Shepherd who played Chuck Yeager and Scott Glenn who played Alan Shepherd. Chuck Yeager stands out because he is the man of a previous generation who is highly respected. Great movie. Highly recommend it. I have good memories of watching it with my dad.
Dusty, Growing up, my brother had those wrestler toys too! Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, Iron Sheik, Junkyard Dog, and Rowdy Roddy Piper were some of our favorites. They held up really well considering how much we played with them...and they were good stand-ins when my Barbies outnumbered Ken dolls! Love the pod!
Nateland in a nutshell: A little after the 17 minute mark Brine says the lady that knew Dusty had a non-American accent. Dusty replies “Like New York?” and no one even blinks at the comment. I love the lighthearted, free spirited vibe of this podcast!
Im all caught up! I started listening/watching the podcast around spring time of 2023, and caught up today 12/7! Love the show, especially when you guys talk about how you all got started in stand up and your process on writing jokes. Look forward to listening in real-time from now on.
"Breakfast" really showed up this week. He had so many funny comments that were complete drive-bys, and totally missed. But I heard ya, 'BeatBox'! You had an exceptional week!
Aaron, I totally know the book you’re talking about! My third grade teacher, Mrs. Furrow, read Hatchet to us and the author, Gary Paulsen, become one of my favorites. When I taught third grade, I always read Hatchet to my class for one of our read alouds. Solid book!
I’m going into church so I have to be quick, I was at the Tampa show and behind my wife and I sat a couple who were talking the whole time and laughing at the wrong spots. I felt like Aaron in the “Enough” moment but didn’t want to be that guy. Someone else finally stepped in and that was that, but great show, we loved it! Go NateGang!
Think I laughed out loud more in this one than any so far. Dusty's story of only having 3 steps for a slinky made me have to stop painting I was laughing too hard. Thanks for a great episode.
My niece was 4 last Christmas and made it clear she didn’t want any baby dolls (she has 3 older brothers). Well, she got one anyway and quickly proclaimed she “doesn’t love babies.” Cut to later that night we are sitting in the kitchen and she walks by with the doll on her way to her room. Totally unprompted she says “I’ll play with it, but I’m mad about it because I told you I don’t like babies.”
Aaron making Lego magazine is more impressive than Nate hosting SNL. That's incredibly cool. Growing up my brothers and I would make sure our best original creations would not have any Megablocks so we could submit them. I'll go proofread this now.
On the toys podcast. The Dominos robot "Welfare check" was hilarious. A slinky in a trailer and a skateboard on a gravel road were equally laughable. Just booked a flight to see Dusty, May 31st at the Factory in St.Louis. Great clean entertainment!!
You guys haven’t had MY dressing! I have taught all three of my daughters how to make MY dressing… so it will continue on for generations… hopefully. Absolutely LOVE Nate Bergatze, Nateland and y’all’s podcasts. Keeps me laughing! Be blessed! ❤😅
Y’all talked about the “Lego” candy. I love those bricks for building gingerbread houses. You can build walls, fences, and landscape borders. They do connect like legos.
I love this podcast so much. Early on, Brian makes a nearly perfect subtle segue into an ad read, and Dusty was so confused. Brian later on just gives up and goes back to the more obvious jolting segues.
It was funny hearing about Aaron and the spatula because my 2 year old looks forward to playing with the cutlery on the table at my mom’s house when we go over every single time
When I was a kid I got the batmobile (for the 1989 movie) for Christmas. My friend already had it so I knew that it came with a few accessories including a plastic shield to emulate the protective cocoon from the movie. After we had finished opening all of our presents my parents could tell something was bothering me. I told them that the cocoon and other accessories were missing. They thought about it for a few minutes and then said that maybe Santa dropped them and I should go check outside under the chimney. Sure enough, the cocoon and other accessories were laying there.
I love Aaron’s memories of Hatchet and Encyclopedia Brown. As a high school teacher, I hope that my students remember All Quiet on the Western Front forever.
I love Groucho Marx- he is one of the sharpest wits recorded. On You Bet Your Life he talks to all kinds of “ordinary” people- by that I mean all kinds of characters and his back and forth can be lightening fast. I think it’s one of the most important historical records we have because of the people he interviews. I’m not sure there is anything like it. 58:42
Big fan and saw Nate in Tampa this weekend. Nate’s dad was the best part of the show and for the 2nd show there was no Hello folks or Hey Bear at the beginning 😂
Sitting downtown Nashville right now during the tornado warning and just hoping that dusty has a safer place than a ditch right now. Hope everyone is staying safe. Love you guys
Aaron read that comment about the embarrassing moment of being a Taco Bell regular. When we were dating, there was a Chinese Restaurant near my husband’s house and we were such regulars, the business owner gave us a wedding present and offered to sing at our wedding. After we got married, we moved to Dayton, Ohio. We moved from an apartment to a house after about a year and the Chinese restaurant we frequented noticed when our phone number changed when we moved.
When you guys were discussing Better help's policy allowing you to change therapists anytime, it reminded me of an experience I had with a therapist a few years ago. I didn't really care for her, and was strongly considering a change, but I thought I would give her one more chance. At that last appointment she proceeded to nod off in the first 5 minutes and start snoring. I got up and walked out and she didn't wake, even when I closed the door behind me. I could see her snoozing peacefully through the her office window. Not only did she charge me for that session, she vigorously resisted the idea of me changing therapist. Way to go, Better Help!
Aaron, I think the monopoly guy had a monocle because of the scene in ace ventura when nature calls. Might be the same for you if you watched it growing up.
A couple years ago, I found a bunch of my old legos in my parents’ attic. My 5 yr old (also named Eleanor) loves playing with them now. She does tend to lean more toward girly things but I love that she and I can bond over our shared love for them.
I was a regular at a gas station. I worked nights at a hospital in Montgomery, AL, and would stop at the same gas station a few times a week before my shift to get a beverage and some food. 4 out of 7 mornings when I got off shift is stop for breakfast. One day the lady working said “You gonna be back for lunch? We’ve got wings today.” At that moment I knew I had a problem, and stopped going to that gas station.
Lego candy was my favorite candy! Seems to be a rare find these days. You can build with them but they won't stand the test of time and ants also like them very much.
Happy Christmas and Hey Bear. As a child of the 70's / 80's I had a myriad of toys but unfortunately none of them made it to adulthood. The one toy I was into in the 80's was Lego. We lived in West Germany in the early 80's when I was introduced to them and my friends and I would mix our Lego and build all manner of things. When we left Germany I did not get mine back (regrets). As an adult I have spent many of the past 20 years buying sets. I now have a wall full of them assembled and n display.
Dusty can actually get rid of the moles in his yard with nematodes! They have highly specialized species of nematode that will eat all the little grubs the moles feed on but leave the worms unharmed.
Love nematodes. It will help his garden too, I use them and have no spider mites, aphids, or any malicious infestations of bugs, all beneficial microbials and bugs coexist together while getting rid of everything invasive. If you get a magnifying glass you can see them jumping into action. Cool little organisms.
I've never had so many ad read fake-outs. When Dusty started to read the AG1 ad directly to Abbey I started laughing so much I almost dropped my dumbbells on my toes!
Abby Wainwright’s question about staying healthy on the road got me thinking. How do you guys find a doctor that accepts your insurance when you’re on the road? Are there any services you use that help you find local health care providers? If so, does that service have a reliable rating system for the docs that you can trust?
Had a conversation the other day with my younger sister and she referenced the "Mandela Effect." I was like, "Dang, that's profound. I don't even know what the Mandela Effect is." So she explained it to me and gave me the example of the Bernstein Bears. I left that conversation thinking my little sister was far smarter than me. But I just listened to this episode and am realizing she just quoted y'all word for word! I guess this podcast is educational after all. Who needs college when you have Nateland?
As a collegiate track athlete on away travel meets we would get a per diem. Instead of spending it at restaurants I would go to the grocery store for meals. It was way cheaper and healthier than eating out. I would always come home with a profit. Dusty one up-ed me with the hot plate - keep up the good work!!
My favorite toys from childhood were a grappling hook/rappelling GI Joe, Pizza Throwing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle car and the huge 8’ long GI Joe aircraft carrier. The aircraft carrier was so huge it took up half a bedroom but it sure made me popular with the neighborhood.
The slinky and skateboard gift combo for the child that lives in. Trailer at the end of a dirt road is the funniest thing ever. However, the submission of homemade human centipede style action figure toys by Dusty is some pretty psycho stuff that likely got his name put on some “lists” long ago! He should bring those letters in and read the responses with the tone of an unsuspecting toy CEO knowing that he likely sent an accompanying letter to the authorities…. ;) Great episode gentlemen!
Dusty may have grown up in a trailer, but at least he had a real PlayStation. We couldn’t afford it, maybe we bought food or something. Anyway, my sister and I drew a tv screen on a cardboard box and wrapped duct tape around a Snapple bottle and pretended we had a video game system. We told kids in the neighborhood it was better bc we could play any game we wanted. Side benefit was the bottle top felt kind of like a button, so that’s neat.
This is for Nate: Is there anywhere we can buy your Netflix specials? They have expired on Netflix 😢. I never saw a warning that they would expire. I’m I know it’s not your fault, you had said you don’t own them. It seems like they would have kept them on since you were nominated for a Grammy and were the best SNL comedian ever. Love your podcast and watch everything I can find with your name on it. ❤️
I was at the Friday night show in Atlanta. Since it wasn't the first time I'd seen Aaron live, I could tell he was a little off, but I still laughed out loud during the whole show & enjoyed meeting him after. I think that's worth mentioning. 😊
When I was a child, I received a Stretch Armstrong my birthday one year. Upon opening my present to reveal the new toy, it was taken away immediately. The older guys at my party needed to play with it first. They (4 of them) ripped it completely apart on the first stretch. They then proceeded to try and stretch me since the toy was no longer stretchable. I wasn’t even offered a replacement. “And that was the worst birthday I’ve had.” -Michael Scot
Dusty, if you ever find yourself in Florence, AL stop by City Limits Cafe! Every Sunday they have chicken and dressing and I would put it against anybody’s.
Dusty looked so happy while showing the rest of the crew his toys. 😊
For Christmas I would love to hear yall re-read the “Aaron begging for a towel” comment while Nate is there.
Jonnie W was a great guest for the podcast. Very quick comebacks, and several times I literally laughed out loud. And holy moly, I can't believe we are halfway through episode #177 only just now hearing Dusty's BB story. If he ever writes a memoir, I'll listen to the audiobook!
Thanks for watching! I had a blast with the guys :)
JW was a SOLID contribution 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
- good jokes, good voice, good timing.
- intelligent but for the sake of the joke/ conversation rather than his own ego.
Can’t wait to binge all his stuff now!
JBird gets it :) Thanks for watching!
Jonnie W. is great! Saw him on the Nateland Showcase and he did not disappoint on this episode.
Jonnie W is one of my favorites. He’s very good at blending in with the crew.
Hey thanks, Daniel! I had fun with the B-A-D boys :)
Dusty.. that feeling of not wanting to leave your kids with strangers never goes away! My kids started off in public school which was also hard. When they came home during COVID, we started homeschooling and never went back. Everyone has to do what's best for them but for me and my house, my kids are staying with me! lol!
We are in our 9th year of Homeschooling!! 🙌😵💫👩👧👦
My favorite part of these episodes is Aaron giggling in the corner every time an ad is read...especially when Dusty joins in and watching Nate (the bossman) not laughing while staring at them. Missed you this week, Nate! I look forward to more information on the grandslam Nateland...
Jonnie W looks like a blended together version of Brian and Aaron. Very interesting
Love Jonnie W. Thanks for having him on. Brian should be the one sitting in Nate's seat in his absence.
Y'all are so delightful. Such an easy breezy vibe when Nate isn't there, and John W just gained a new fan
77 episodes with Dusty and we’re just finding out he’s been shot in his youth. The layers keep coming off!
-But it saves a lot of money. When you're just coming up as a comic, that's saving money.
-But does it save money?
-Oh, I don't know.
That made me laugh way too hard.
Thanks for watching, Alex!

Obsessed with this podcast. I look forward to waking up Wednesday mornings just so I can hang with you guys. So thank you ❤
Tristan said last week that if Nate isn’t there, you guys shouldn’t put out an episode. But my favorite episodes are the ones where Nate is gone. Plus it’s also pretty funny to have a podcast named after someone who isn’t on it. Pound sand Tristan!
Dusty's life is full of funny stories and experiments. He should write a memoir/cookbook that has stories and recipes throughout ha!
I love how the thought of wearing down shoes was just unimaginable for billionaire bates
Jonnie W is hilarious! What a great guest host. Best yet!

Bartholemew segués are getting so good, the boys keep missing them 😂
Is that how you spell it? You must have gone to Notre Dame
@@9988coneil 🤣
Possibly the greatest AG1 read Dusty has ever done. I can't stop laughing at Aaron laughing just off screen at every mention of "Abby"
Maybe put Jonnie W’s name in the title of the episode?
Yes!
Agree! He was such an awesome guest. I went to the description just to see if they credited him at all! LOL
He is hilarious and fits in perfectly. I hope he’ll be back soon.
Are we related? Cousins? lol
They don’t want him to win smh
Here to support Dusty❤
Dustyland podcasts are my favorite podcasts.
Aaron with another great reference from our generation. The book Hatchet had a hold on all elementary school age boys I swear. -Abbey AG1 Wainwright
I agree with Aaron that the Bigfoot expert should come back on the podcast. Him and Dusty need to be in the same room together.
Some of my favorite comics are on this show. Jonnie W is great.
Nateland in a nutshell:
A little after the 17 minute mark Brine says the lady that knew Dusty had a non-American accent.
Hey Bear
I am shocked Aaron can’t whistle. He gives off huge gym teacher whistle vibes.
They don’t teach ya that in college
Aaron has a low pucker factor. This is required for retention and unassisted shriek-whistles. Coach Aaron uses "Allright boys."
hahahahaaaa
If you’ve seen him live you wouldn’t be surprised. I bet he can’t snap either. Lol
He would have one around his neck
BRIANS GOTTA BE DICE FOR HALLOWEEN NEXT YEAR 😂😂😂
I was thinking he could be Laurel and Aaron could be Hardy
"Breakfast" really showed up this week. He had so many funny comments that were complete drive-bys, and totally missed. But I heard ya, 'BeatBox'! You had an exceptional week!
Im patiently waiting for an episode called The Shawshank Redemption. Someone tape Nate to a chair and press play already.
Agreed
Aaron, I totally know the book you’re talking about! My third grade teacher, Mrs. Furrow, read Hatchet to us and the author, Gary Paulsen, become one of my favorites. When I taught third grade, I always read Hatchet to my class for one of our read alouds. Solid book!
Time to hear Bates talk all about Jacks and paddle ball.
His stick and hoop that he paid for with his first nickel
Kickin a can down the road
This combination is comedic perfection!
You are 100% correct. Maybe it’s time to add a fifth Beetle. 🤣🤣🤣
Jonnie W. was a great guest. I will be checking out his stuff for sure!
You’ve had a ton of guests … but Jonnie W has been the funniest. He is gooooood!
Hey Thanks!
Hope we can get a full Medela Effect episode
Mandela effect is a psyop.
I’m going into church so I have to be quick,
I was at the Tampa show and behind my wife and I sat a couple who were talking the whole time and laughing at the wrong spots. I felt like Aaron in the “Enough” moment but didn’t want to be that guy. Someone else finally stepped in and that was that, but great show, we loved it! Go NateGang!
I can’t believe it took 177 episodes to get to toys. But bet this will be a good one.
My Mom had a whistle too....and when we heard that we knew to race home!! 😂
On the toys podcast.
The Dominos robot
"Welfare check" was hilarious.
All 4 of these Comics have been to Gutty’s Comedy Club. Fun times. Now we need to get them on Gutty’s TV.
Jonnie brought good chemistry…great episode!
I love this podcast so much. Early on, Brian makes a nearly perfect subtle segue into an ad read, and Dusty was so confused. Brian later on just gives up and goes back to the more obvious jolting segues.
It was funny hearing about Aaron and the spatula because my 2 year old looks forward to playing with the cutlery on the table at my mom’s house when we go over every single time
Aaron, love the Greensboro Grasshoppers hat.
Your parents (I mean Santa) are awesome. I love this.
@@asherwallick7767 I was 8 at the time so it probably extended my belief in Santa by a year or two.
I love Aaron’s memories of Hatchet and Encyclopedia Brown. As a high school teacher, I hope that my students remember All Quiet on the Western Front forever.
Brian, that's crazy! I had one of those walking robots. I haven't seen one of those in ages. And yes, my first gaming system was a Pong as well.
Dusty gets 100+ bonus points for bringing his toys in. Alot of memories playing with those stiff wreslters and I still have that battle-damage He-man.
Saw Jonnie at the Nate show in Knoxville. He was hilarious!
Aaron “SpongeBob” Weber with his spatula 😂
Aaron read that comment about the embarrassing moment of being a Taco Bell regular. After we got married, we moved to Dayton, Ohio. We moved from an apartment to a house after about a year and the Chinese restaurant we frequented noticed when our phone number changed when we moved.
I love that yall have a family dynamic on the pod. It takes a Village!! Great ep.

When you guys were discussing Better help's policy allowing you to change therapists anytime, it reminded me of an experience I had with a therapist a few years ago. Better help is a absolutely atrocious. Don't use it.
Look up the horror stories from people who tried better help.
Aaron doing Nate's closing lines never gets old. 😂
The fact that no one went and got a spatula from Nate's kitchen and just handed it to Aaron was a missed opportunity
Maybe Dad was in the kitchen frying up a single brat and couldn’t step away from the boiling oil! 😜

The guys should watch the movie The Right Stuff. It’s a fantastic movie about the first astronauts AND Chuck Yeager!
Lego candy was my favorite candy! Seems to be a rare find these days. You can build with them but they won't stand the test of time and ants also like them very much.

Finding that DVD at the store would Goodwill Good Will Hunting hunting.
The slinky and skateboard gift combo for the child that lives in. Trailer at the end of a dirt road is the funniest thing ever. Why is it just Jonnie W.? Do we not know how to spell his last name? Good guest though, very funny ❤😂 50:42 the change of look on Aaron’s face 🤣
Would love to see Sam and Daisy 🥰🤗
Dusty dismembering army men and painting them then taking pictures of them and sending the pictures to toy companies sounds so chaotic 😭
Brian was feisty this week! 🤣
A stab wound being an "Alabama swirly" had me crying laughing. The epitome of "edgy". Love the podcast, guys.
Leave it to Nateland and Jonnie W. to ruin eggnog for me!
Glad to help. Merry Christmas :)
Dusty, if you ever find yourself in Florence, AL stop by City Limits Cafe! Every Sunday they have chicken and dressing and I would put it against anybody’s.
