Mark getting more and more red and sweaty as the ep goes on from holding in all his no-no words Seriously though what an excellent episode. I love Mark and it's awesome to see him talk about something so personal to him with Nate!
The Slicer episode! I forgot! Kramer: "I've sliced pieces so thin, I couldn't even see them" Elanine: "How'd you know you cut it?" Kramer: "Well I guess I just assumed..." 😂
The whole ‘i didnt realise Nate works clean’ thing is so true. I had watched everything on Netflix and it was only when he was on Rogans show promoting The Greateat Average American that it dawned on me. And it was only because hes clean in conversation too. It works so well because its genuine
In my opinion, Nate has transcended the clean comic title. He is a comic's comic. Every comic that mentions him loves him. He just happens to be clean. I love comedy, clean or dirty. Funny is funny.
His style of comedy is so funny and unique like Theo Von. I love dirty comedy and gravitate towards that but Nate’s specials make me laugh out loud the most. He’s great
You know Nate used to be a frequent guest on Legion of Skanks right? All these comments calling Mark Normand dirty, when Normand is on LOS, he tells them theyre going too far.
Without question, this was liveliest and most engaged Nate has been on an episode. He’s clearly passionate about Seinfeld. I could never really get in to the show but this episode has convinced me to give it another try.
Some will disagree, but I would say start with season 4, episode 3, "The Pitch." The first two episodes of season 4 might be weird to jump into. Go from there, and if you enjoy it, then go back and watch the earlier stuff. Season 4 seems to be when they really hit their stride.
Just got done watching “The Cigar Store Indian." That episode was on fire. So many heaters and fast-paced. I mean, season five was really a lot of heat. Elaine really started looking beautiful in the next few episodes, though of course she already was. She began to look so French, as she really is. All the way through season nine she just got more attractive. The women that they got on that show with the jokes and acting was just something special. I know that’s random, but it’s just what I was doing and I know you guys are Seinfreaks. Great pod.
As a fellow Nick and Seinfeld fan, I can relate 😝 That ep had a scene based on real life (maybe Larry David’s life) w/ the mailman that Jerry asked for advice on local Chinese restaurants 😂
My dad's friend just told me this story where he met Jerry Stiller in Alaska and gave him a bunch of canned salmon and told him he liked his jacket. So Jerry Stiller told him that he would give him the jacket but his wife bought it for him and so she'd be mad. So later he went to New York and Jerry Stiller took him shopping for a jacket like his, but they could find one so Jerry Stiller just gave him his.
Definitely can see how comedy is humbling. Watching the Comedian, Jerry basically said that it doesn't matter what you have done in stand up you can still come on stage and bomb. As he was struggling on stage and being heckled after having such a successful tv show.
My husband hosted a Festivus party. It was amazing! We had a pole and feats of strength and airing of grievances. It was cathartic and maybe hurt some feelings but all in all would highly recommend.
I've been refusing to watch Seinfeld for a long time. I didn't get the hype. Just by watching this episode I gave it a try and last night I couldn't stop watching and laughing. Thank you for basically forcing me to watch it so I can relate to your episode. I LOVE MARK AND NATE so, I wanted to blend in...
We can all recommend great episodes to see if you really wanna be sure you like it 😂 ‘The Opposite’ and ‘The Note’ are GREAT eps! I could laugh at those every time 😀 ‘The Note’ was based on a real-life experience that Larry David had, and ‘The Soup Nazi’ was also based on a real guy! I even met a guy once at a small restaurant that might have been the owner and he reminded me of the Soup Nazi character 😆 Another fave’ ep of mine is ‘The Wink’!
Hearing the last part about Ben Stiller made me think of his best film, Heavy Weights. Absolute classic. Would love an episode centered around comedy movies. 80's, 90's, 00's. could be a fun little series. I picked up tickets to the show in SLC in February and cannot wait!
I once had a conversation with Jerry Seinfield; he was at a Porsche show in Hershey PA around 1999. I was 14 years old, a big fan of Seinfield, and his show had just ended. Jerry had entered the event as my father and I were leaving. I was just young enough to have the confidence (or lack of self awareness) to yell out "Hey Jerry!" He turned, looked at me and, and not knowing what to say next I just said "you're pretty funny!" His response, delivered in the classic Jerry tone and cadence, was to shrug and say "Me? No." and he kept walking. To this day, best conversation of my life.
Larry Charles is AWESOME! He always has a fun story to tell and he’s 1 of the nicest ppl in the universe 😀 I love his commentary on the Seinfeld dvd extras 👍
This was amazing! Highly recommend the DVD's with the special features and commentary. Covered a lot of it in this episode but theres tons of behind the scences stuff
You guys left out "The Race" as one of the best Seinfeld episode. Like Andrea Doria, everyone's storyline is airtight but I'd say they're even funnier. Elaine's commie boyfriend, Kramer a s commie Santa and George/Jerry lying to their highschool buddy. Its Gold (Jerry, Gold)
I love the early seasons of Seinfeld! “The Pony Remark”???!!! Classic! I can recite every word. Along with “Male Unbonding,” “The Jacket,” “The Statue.” Guess I’m in the minority.
My softball team was called “Them”. It was funny when people would say oh we’re playing “Them”. Then there was a year where we were registered as the “Ball Busters”. It certainly was no “Them”. The following year were were “Them Again”.
I’m a 33 year old man and I have never seen Die Hard until…. 3 nights ago. My wife and 3 kids went to bed early so I turned it on and was glued to the TV the whole movie. So many quote that people have used and I never picked up on until I watched it. Nate just mentioned Die Hard 2 or 3, which I didn’t know existed obviously, so I’m going to have to pause this and go watch.
I never usually post but just to let you know if you don't allready , there is a Die Hard 4 , Yippee kiyayyye mother fuckerrr, I'm off for a queff, Comedy

I saw Breakfast at Clowes Memorial Hall in Indianapolis. I yelled Let’s go folks, but not sure if he heard me. The people behind me laughed. He was hilarious! Loved the show!
Tough choice, but this is still my favorite Nateland Podcast. Just 3 comics jamming about their favorite mentor and one of the greatest comics of all time. They know all the bits. :) It's so re-watchable.... Thanks, guys!
I usually listen to this podcast on Spotify, but I had to jump over to the TH-cam comments for a second. You have now blown my ears out twice: once with that high-pitched ring, and now by doing the ads in the eye of a hurricane. If you need to do the ads quickly, just email me the script, I'll do them, export then in a Wav. File and send it back to you. All love though, great episode.
I'm currently going through Seinfeld for the first time because I wasn't allowed to watch it growing up and hearing Nate always talk about it convinced me to give it a try. So this was a fun episode! My wife and I just had our ten year anniversary and she surprised me with tickets to see Nate in Durham NC in March. Looks like I made the right call ten years ago!
Having the last name Costanzo (even though it’s off by the last letter) I get comments all of the time when having to tell people my name. What I remember most is my high school basketball coach yelling “GEORGE” every time I messed up on the court followed by the student section yelling “CANTSTANDGYA”
One more. I’ve never watched a full episode of Seinfeld (just seen some clips) so this episode of Nateland makes me want to watch it, starting in season 3 of course. LETS GOOOOOO.
Rewatching this and watching more of Marc’s standup. Marc is “basically clean” as much as Nate is “basically a literary genius”. Even that is a weak analogy because, like you said, at least Marc can be clean when he needs to. Regardless, great to have Marc and the wide array of comedians on this podcast
What a moment in time that would've been. Mark got the gift of a lifetime spending that one-on-one time with Jerry at that Italian place. People would spend their life savings to have a similar experience.
I love the first two/three seasons of "Seinfeld." I remember watching the pilot episode and thinking "this show is so different from anything else on TV. There's something (yet nothing) going on here."
Love your comedy, Nate - love the podcast. It's perfect as it is. One thing I've noticed is that those of you who love it, speak Seinfeld. Me and my brother speak in a sort of Seinfeld shorthand. Actually, my dad too. Sometimes if the tone just sounds the same "And I LOVE the people I'm WORKIN' with!", squeezing by each other "WATCH it, funnyman", or just anything that comes up. We don't plan it, but it happens any time we're together more than 15 minutes. First comment ever - don't think this is the quintessence of my interest - "It just popped in there!" But, there's an episode of Mad About You (Paul Reiser's show) where he has to go see his old roommate, which turns out to be Kramer, then you realize that the setting DID look familiar - it's the Seinfeld apartments. Reiser asks Kramer about Jerry, so it IS "real" Kramer. Funny thing is, tho, as you guys mentioned, George and Susan watch Mad About You in The Engagement. So, the show exists in Seinfeld, but is also in a crossover. Not being pedantic like Bob Herbert - if you take my meaning. Love you guys. Just remembered this ISN'T my first comment, sorry to lie. Jerry, Post Falls, Idaho
When he's trying to get Kramer to take his dog medicine is one of the greatest physical comedy bits I've ever seen. It was one of those times I laughed so hard I wasn't just crying... I was starting to lose consciousness. [edit: If you've never tried to get a dog to take a pill it might do nothing for you.]
Hey Nate! You were talking about being a "clean" comic, so I have to tell you exactly what happened to me last summer 2020 when I found your comedy and then Nateland... I had watched 2 of your stand ups more than once and found Nateland soon after it started. I was loving your comedy and telling all my friends. Stand up is what got me thru a year of COVID with Bill Burr, Joe Rogan, Bert, Nikki Glaser and many many more that I've followed for years. Then one day during your podcast or watching you on an interview I heard the term "Clean Comic"..... it made me literally stop and think then realize OMG!! You are sooooo frigin hilarious that I never even noticed at all!! I was blown away! Then I was bragging about you even more because that right there is true talent. You kill me!! Thank you so much!! My favorite real-life-to-TV-joke of all time: A male network executive named Kim denied an episode idea for Community season 3 that Dan Harmon (the show runner) really wanted. To get the executive back, Dan made an entire storyline in S3E13 (“Digital Exploration of Interior Design”), where Jeff gets a letter from Kim, and he thinks it’s a girl. It always makes me laugh: an entire storyline just for the punchline that Kim is a girl’s name…all to get back at an executive denying a show idea.
I almost forgot Mark was a guest for a moment. Nate took no breaths when talking about Seinfeld, lol. Cool ep but could have used a little more moderation. Mark is the man.
Now that Seinfeld is on Netflix I'm finally getting to watch the entire series. I'm on season 2 and I have not laughed once. I know you all have said it takes several seasons to get good so I'm riding it out.
I normally only listen to the podcast, but when Mark Normand is on, I had to watch. Which means I got to see what Bisquick looks like, I then had to pause, go back to see what Aaron looked like. In my head I had always pictured BrickTop looking like an old “Fix-it-Felix” and Aaron looking like Rutledge Wood.
I do see how season 8 gets goofier, and then season 9 is hit or miss, but there is some gold. The Bizarro Jerry is probably my favorite episode and that's in season 8. Edit: I wrote this comment before Nate started listing all the great episodes of season 8.
The Bizarro Jerry is when Elaine hangs out with opposites of Jerry, George, and Kramer (obviously), Kramer gets a job ("crackers"), Jerry is dating man hands, and George is trying to get into the secret club filled with models. That's why I like it so much.
The Shakey Mohel actor died a couple years ago in a bizarre way. His car was found in the wilderness in the Pacific Northwest with his dog dead in it - and they found his body later partially eaten by wild animals in a canyon or ravine or something. I remembered it because I follow a lot of Seinfeld accounts on Instagram, and because the death was really weird.
Normand in his head “ stay clean, don’t say queef, stay clean….” Lol
My thoughts exactly!
i'm going to reply, because i know Mark reads all comments. I'm ecstatic Normand is on the podcast. Huge fan of both. Comedy!
Pretty much sums it up
There were a few moments I knew he was chomping the bit. Late night chops pay off.
Feels like Mark's on a job interview.
What a crossover, Kevin Hart on Nateland, fantastic!
I'm watching and waiting patiently for some classic Normand belching! Hehehe
I’m done watching Kevin hart. People just laugh when he does white face, but if it were the other way around…..
@@HenryErnie Kevin hart is to far removed from reality. His last special was hard to finish.
This took me a second haha
That's comedy!
Nates face lights up when he sees Harper and it’s so sweet.
I love how she has license to interrupt the podcast when she gets home from school. He loves that girl for real, it’s so cute ❤😊
I love the respect comedians have for Nate. Mark didn't let out a single queef.
Mark getting more and more red and sweaty as the ep goes on from holding in all his no-no words

"Like Him" new merch!!!
mark saying the "A word" is wild hahah
Lol, he respects Nate. You can tell. He didn’t give any push backs on s8 and s9 being good. You can tell he likes and respects Nate

Literally my two favorite comedians talking about my favorite show. And bates is there too.

Nate’s approach to comedy is what makes him a great comic and respected by other comedians.
In my opinion, Nate has transcended the clean comic title. He is a comic's comic. Every comic that mentions him loves him. He just happens to be clean. I love comedy, clean or dirty. Funny is funny.
You're right. During the pandemice, I was listening to Doug Stanhope's podcats and even Doug mentioned that he thought his special was really great.

Now that Seinfeld is on Netflix I'm finally getting to watch the entire series. I'm on season 2 and I have not laughed once. I know you all have said it takes several seasons to get good so I'm riding it out.
34:00 that's great to hear, Brian. Ryan Hamilton is v good.
Yes! Seen him once before, he's another amazing comic that just happens to be clean but anyone can still find hilarious
On the edge of my seat for the pg podcast having an r rated guest 😆. Maybe mark is more professional then I know though. Love this
This was great. I love the episodes where you have other comics join you, Nate.
His TH-cam special is funny, but I truly love how witty and clever you are and I never need a guard up. Thank you!
Just saw Mark last night, it was one of the best shows ever. He is not only hilarious, but was spitting genius insights.
My two favorites!!! Seen both in the past month or so in SoCal - the very best!!
I do see how season 8 gets goofier, and then season 9 is hit or miss, but there is some gold. The Bizarro Jerry is probably my favorite episode and that's in season 8. Edit: I wrote this comment before Nate started listing all the great episodes of season 8.
Ha! I knew Mark was going to say "Where are the cameras?" I've heard him say that several times on Tuesdays with Stories.
Nate. You are lengend brotha.
Nate: *breathes
Mark: "YESSS."
I mean, Mark literally can't do anything else, Nate is talking a mile a minute the entire time.
The Seinfeld talk was spesh
I just waited on pins and needles for Mark to slip up and cuss. 😆
Dan soder, Mark Normand, Shane gillis and nate would be awesome together
This episode felt empty without Aarons wheezing
What a great episode!!!
Legit here for the comments and to watch mark do “behind the hand comments”. This is great! Queef!
