this video is great if you have a handle …. but my problem is, I have a broken knob with no visible screws and don't know how to remove/replace them. can you help?
I closed the storm door and locked deadbolt with key. Now when trying to unlock, the key keeps spinning. It's not pulling in the latch. Tried using a different key to spin out cylinder, but it's not spinning. Any suggestions on how to unlock door?
Take a screw driver and place it in the keyway at an angle and give it a light tap with a hammer. Turn the screwdriver the other direction and give it another tap. Now insert the dummy key and try to twist it out now. If that doesn't work, try spraying lock dry lube around the cylinder if possible. Using the lube can be difficult/impossible with the shroud in place, so you might have to cut it off if it just won't come loose. Once the shroud is removed you can use slip joint pliers to twist it off.

My wife needed to know that the lock cylinder should be turn counter clock- wise to back out the lock... Great video. Now I can fix my lock!
The cylinder lock is screw on to tight when I use a different key to try to unscrew it only move a little I’m scared if I force it the key will break
