Yeah @@joedirte6476it's almost Christmas, hope you've done your Christmas shopping or you're going to be in the bad books with your better half, if you don't have her present at least, friend.
Clearly one of the best TH-cam Channels. Interesting, informative, and enjoyable to watch. This video, despite being 55 minutes long, flew by because it was so interesting. Early Christmas gift from Scandinavia.
I reckon what makes this content so enjoyable is the young man himself. I for one really appreciate that he is willing to share with a world full of strangers.
Recently moved to Sweden. I like this channel a ton, it shows me a part of this country and a life that I have not have the chance to observe or enjoy.
I grew up in Western Canada and spent quite a while living and working in Northern Alberta so I recognize the winter conditions, short daylight long shadows , everything covered in snow , frozen up equipment, materials frozen to the ground when you go to use it! Difficult driving conditions. I live in the USA southeast and miss winter but not enough to move back! It’s going to be a really nice building and valuable in the climate you endure!
I'm reminded of framing a house. When we got to installing the kitchen cupboards and counter, nothing fit. When we set the frame for that wall I was on one side of the chalk line, my buddy on the other side. A nice acute angle that required 2 weeks of customizing the fixtures.
Engineer Here: The truss with the broken bottom cord, that cord member is almost certainly going to be in significant tension once set. The lapping length and number of screws on that 2X4 repair piece should be at a minimum double or even triple what was shown as the fix in the video. My suggestion is to lap a much longer 2X6 on the opposite side from where the 2X4 was placed. I’m sure it’s still exposed so easy fix. Nice garage build. I’m pretty jealous.
It seems like a very weird way to build a building. You've now got an air gap/splices between each wall pannels. No double top plate on the walls. So theres basicaly nothing holding each wall panels from moving besides the few concrete anchor & interior sheating? For a place that gets alot of snow i would have thought it would be built alot stronger.
@@ryy597 Yeah, I had the same thought, initially, as well. But my gut tells me this is an Engineered System to support the live loading and other dynamic forces in this geographical area. Time will tell.
@@manganvbg90 I noticed that. That member is still going to be seeing dynamics from the snow and wind loads, my suggestion was only that. A suggestion.
WOW! Ho, ho, ho. The Christmas present arrived earlier than expected. Greetings from PL and huge respect for all your hard work. Looking forward to the next chapter.
Hey! Just wanted to let you know that all i wait for is your new episodes, they are amazing. Keep them coming. They have inspired me so much. From fixing the water well/pumps to large scale projects. ❤️
Benefit of prefab elements. Behind fast install is probably months, if not a year of prep. Contracting various element makers to make the elements and have the dates and deliveries lined up. Contracting all the other suppliers for the parts like the heat pipes, plumbing and so on. Building on site doesn't start until one has confirmations of "these are ready then, these then."
That's an awesome shed like how east to put together and just how fastnit went up. Perfect size to get your equipment out of the snow an cold.to work on
It's 38f (3.3c) here in the deep southern US and I'm already complaining about the cold. Hats off to you fellas working in the temperatures you have to work in and not even mentioning it. That being said, I don't complain about the heat until it's 100f (38c) because we're all used to it here. It gets upwards of 110f (43c) here in the summer.
Björn, 1) I don't mind the darkness. My lovely gf lives in Tromsø so when I visit her my lights shines brilliantly. 2) I like the comment about Milwaukee in the cold. Doesn't work for me neither so all my tools are Makita and Ryobi. 3) Nice you could show how we put up scaffolding here in Scandinavia. So much more efficient (like the ladder for carrying the roof sheets) and the safety factor.
Another almost 60 minutes!!! Whoohoo! Better get it in before the wife asks me to do anything. A great way to relax after a good days work. Rainy, but good
Talk about a time crunch, only three hours a day of sunlight is brutal! Makes for much harder work but I guess if you’re used to it then it’s just another day… I love that pallet truck. I drove a pls (palletized load system) in the army but it’s designed for more off road than the comfort you get with that Volvo. Good luck with that garage, it’s a nice prefab structure.
Another absolutely incredible video and step closer to completion. When you stopped for food, it was like a Swedish happy meal. Burger, soft drink & tin of 1.4g explosives wishing you a merry Christmas and good health
I always look forward to watching the videos on your channel. Seeing the progress of your workshop and the building techniques is really interesting to me. I didn’t expect to see prefabricated walls and trusses being used on such a big building and then watching them be put in place and be joined. Another thanks for sharing some of the beautiful and peaceful scenery of the area. 👍👍👍 It may have already been answered, but is red a common color used for buildings in the area?
The red color that is used most in Sweden is specially developed for our climate, the red color comes from red iron oxide and is called in the mouth of many "Falu rödfärg".
Well that is why Nordics prefer prefab element construction method. No need to frame walls or do fiddly work like building trusses out in bad weather. All elements get made in nice dry and warm factory hall, gets wrapped for transport and then installed. Minimizes the amount of time having to do construction work out in the bad weather.

Garage is coming along pretty sweet my friend! It's very cool how everything is prefabbed. That's a great idea and makes it go together so quickly. Hope you're staying warm.
34:25 Listening to radio channels from other countries without any context is always a little like interdimensional cable. Edit: Oh well or maybe he just backed over the owners cat.
First story was that Quincy Jones was buried in a private ceremony. The cat thing was something about how their brains age but it was then abruptly cut off.
All you got to do is run a plank down the center of the building to lay the peak of the trusses on and walk on and you can set the whole stack up on the walls and easily roll one truss at a time by yourself. I know because I framed houses by myself for a living.
Every new episode is better than X-mas indeed. Who needs a television with channels like theese? Good work MB!

Definitely rockin the Fargo vibe on cinematography! You’re a stronger man than I, I truly don’t miss the cold!
Really appreciate the more frequent uploads! Makes the cold winter a bit more enjoyable!
dont ever stop making videos pleaseeee and never think that a video is too long, i watch every second of ur videos!!
Thank you sir! Very cool to see how you build in Sweden. This is going to be an awesome garage.
Well done MB, really looking forward to seeing your finished garage 👍

Very impressive.😁
I can't wait to see the garage when it's finished.
I love your videos, and admire your "can do" attitude to life. Keep it up!
So good, and still in style with the red wood. Thanks MB for such good tube material!
What a time to be alive when the overhead shots are a nice touch rather than a job involving a helicopter or a camera crane 50 meters long.
Swedish craftsmanship. Brilliant 👍😎🇩🇪
Crazy how fast you're making progress🔥 happy building and thanks a ton for entertaining our Wednesday evenings👊🏼

He’s building it
Great progress on the build. You hoovered that burger up lol.
Love your video editing especially the drone work.

Im so happy you posted, I have been binge watching your videos since the start of the final exam season at school.
Thanks!
This is so nice seeing the walls being set up. Good job.
So awesome. Love to watch you all the time. Such skill!
Very nice garage/workshop you’re building👍
What a huge step forward getting these walls up!
And of course in the world famous Falun Red!

Driving down the highway, listening to the Verve with a bucket of explosives sat next to you 🤣
Again a very very nice job! Beats watching Netflix
The new workshop is looking really good, you should be proud of whats been achieved so far. 👍
nice little ending showing how the walls were fabricated :)

It’s well fabricated well done
Interesting that the company throws all the wall pieces in their yard and Björn just comes by in his truck and uses their JCB to load it all up :)
I think his friend whohelps him works there. also it's a tiny community so you know everyone and know wether you can trust someone or not
