    Great help mate.....bloody adjustment screw for the alt belt cam out of its nut on mine.....could not get it in.....going back out now to take the adjustment pully off as I can see in the vid where I need to see.
    I wasn't getting enough slack.....I know see I hadn't slackened the adjuster pully central nut enough for the adjuster to slide freely.
    Not a nice job.

    Great guide sir, just to confirm that both pulley bolts are a 14mm spanner?

    • @SNORKYMEDIA
      @SNORKYMEDIA  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes both are the same as far as I can remember. Undo the adjusters on the side first - if they dont comply you can dissasemble the pulley wheels

      @@SNORKYMEDIA Hahaha went to do this today. "Undo the adjusters" he says.... Cant get on the things unless your wrists are made of jelly. Thanks for the guide though, really helpful, genuinely.

    Do you reckon you can get the water pump replaced without lifting the engine out? I'm looking at one now and it seems very tight

    • @SNORKYMEDIA
      @SNORKYMEDIA  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ive looked high and low on this - it isnt even mentioned in the Haynes manual !! I would assume you could get to it through the wheel arch as per the belts video. Sorry I cant be of more help.

    No need to take ajustment bearings off at all , just losen bearing nut ,then loosen adjustment nut , put new belt on then tighten adjustment pulley then tighten bearing nut , why take adjustment pulley off if you aint replacing

    • @SNORKYMEDIA
      @SNORKYMEDIA  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      a) inexperience - I'm not a mechanic, just trying to help others b) if you can't get the adjustment nut to move ( through corrosion) you could do it this way

    20February22Canada Thank you so much 4 the time and effort in showing us how to replace the drive belts. I wonder if the idler pulley on my 2015 Micra S is a spring loaded (tensioner?) idler pulley. It would be easier to replace the belts if it's a spring loaded idler pulley.

      It may well be as this is an updated model. Either way it isn't difficult to do on your own

    • @SNORKYMEDIA

      There are two belts. One varies in length depending on if you have air conditioning as it needs then to be longer to fit around the air compressor pulley

    g changer la courroie plus le galet cars j'avais un sifflement sur ceux coter courroie g changer le tout mais le sifflement et tjr présent et il augmente plus a l'accélération si vous avez des avis la dessus je suis preneur

    • @SNORKYMEDIA
      @SNORKYMEDIA  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Malheureusement, le sifflement pourrait provenir de l'une des choses en rotation. Donc n'importe lequel des roulements de l'alternateur, de la poulie ou du compresseur de climatisation. Il est peu probable que ce soit le roulement de manivelle. Donc tout ce que je peux vous conseiller est d'essayer de déterminer lequel c'est - pouvez-vous mettre un gros tournevis ou une tige sur les roulements (TRÈS SOIGNEUSEMENT) pour voir si vous pouvez entendre lequel c'est ...... bonne chance

      After that miles I'm surprised the belts haven't snapped. You should replace them. If they snap you will lose air con , charging of the battery etc

    do you have video of replacing the timing belt? many thanks🙏🏻

    • @SNORKYMEDIA
      @SNORKYMEDIA  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      these engines dont have a timing belt that need changing - it is chain driven. So oil changes are more important.

    Do I need to remove the pulley in order to replace the longer belt, or I just can loosen the adjuster nut?

    • @SNORKYMEDIA
      @SNORKYMEDIA  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      you should be able to use the adjuster only - but the pulley comes off really easy if reqd

    Really helpful, thanks. I couldn't figure out how to tension the pulley except by holding with a lever and tightening the pulley nut. Did you do it another way?

    • @SNORKYMEDIA
      @SNORKYMEDIA  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As I think I mentioned in the video the idler pulleys are bolted into a block which has a bolt on the side which you tighten to stretch or increase the tension in the belts

      @@HawaiiBeach_ The small belt (water pump) on my 2009 Note was 668mm. I originally ordered the 833mm belt after reading this but it is too long, I think the 833mm belt must be the alternator belt for models without A/C. No doubt you have already done yours but just in case anyone else is reading this and about to order their belts. Eurocarparts didn't stock the 668mm belt so I got mine from GSF car parts, both belts were just under £15, I added a £1.49 wiper to qualify for free delivery.
