After a quick stop in Ao Nang, Krabi it’s time to fuel up, soak up some of the gorgeous surroundings, and head to Railay! There’s not much pre-planning to be done here, so we just head towards the beach and hope for the best! Just like most travel days in Thailand, where there’s a will, there’s a way! We are ready for a gorgeous sunny day in Railay, here in the sunny south of Thailand 😍🏝️

Emerging countries have better internet on average because there is no legacy infrastructure in the way, so multiple generations of technology are leapfrogged for the latest and greatest. The worst connectivity I have ever experienced has been in the US, Australia, and Canada. Those three should be ashamed of the state of their internet coverage and speeds.

Curries as street food are in Khao Gaeng stands - typically a place with lots of pots lined up, you open the lids to check inside and then you’ll be asked how many scoops of rice you want, you can have on 1 plate (cheaper) or rice on the plate and a choice of curries in little bowls. You’ll find this all over the south of Thailand

I used to stay in Krabi town, and take a boat down the river to come around the back side of Railay. Frankly Railay is well past its prime in terms of now it is just a resort enclave. Fine if thats what you are looking for. Used to be a bit more of a rustic place.
Even if you're not a climber, you should try mountain climbing, a half day climb is more than enough. Railay is world renowned for it's mountain climbing and the climbing shops will cater to all types of skill levels. There's also a cool viewpoint climb that you can arrange that has an awesome view of the west beach (not to be confused with the treacherous viewpoint hike of the east beach/lagoon hike).

This is awesome! Ao Nang is almost our 2nd home, we have been there about 12 times now, and we are going back again next October. We have also been to Railay many times, I almost feel homesick when I see your videos....

17:19 The orange tint in Pad Thai typically comes from fresh red chili in the sauce, or sometimes from shrimp tomalley, which is the fat from the shrimp heads. Sometimes Pad Thai appears brown due to the caramelisation of palm sugar. :)
Railey, Koh Phi Phi and Koh Lipe are some of the best islands in Thailand. Railey is still on the mainland but only accessible by boat due to the tall limestone cliffs getting in the way. The entire Krabi Province is my favourite area of Thailand - Koh Lipe is in Satun Province on the border with Malaysia
Yep it’s about 100-150 baht for the Railay Beach and you book right at the beach! Hang on to the tuk tuk! It’s a wild ride!

You should of walked up to the the right hand side of the cave beach to the actual big cave. It's a bit of a climb but it's epic and there is a bunch Gibbons up there too who are so cute. The phallic symbols represent the rock formations coming out of the water found along that coast too.

I’ve watched many videos about Railay. This is already my favourite. Your hotel in Ao Nang is a bit different to mine. Mine had no lock on the door - it was broken. I was being eaten alive by bugs all night. There was no food, and the coffee they reluctantly made for me was undrinkable - I had to
pour it out of the window when they weren’t looking. On the plus side it was on the beach and the room looked nice so long as you ignored the columns of ants walking across the floor

God i remember when I went to Railay and my hotel told me there are boats back all the time but when I actually tried to go back to catch my flight there was literally no boat leaving for 2 hours. Had to end up renting a private boat for 500thb to get back in time :*

food poisoning: I have been there for many, many weeks with children. I know almost all restaurants and had no food poisoning. you guys missed the cave and lagoon! finally I also do not recommend visiting it in high season because it is too crowded.
And hopefully you haven't missed the many beautiful islands in the area. must see!! paradise
I was their a month ago and it was very disappointing their where jelly fish everywhere and where washing up on the beach with the high tide,very few people dared getting the sea.I did for about 10 minutes and got stung.
You can download an area map in Google so even offline, you have directions. Enjoy Railay!

Hey, the food poisoning is highly likely due to the very hot weather this time of year in Thailand. It’s harder to manage the spoiling of food - not related to restaurants being on an island.

I had food poisoning just prior to going to Railay in March of 2024. We spent two nights at a very nice and expensive hotel on Koh Samui. That travel day was interesting!!!!
When we arrived to our hotel we saw them unloading a boat of raw meat, it was laying out on the ground in the heat, no refrigeration. I only had egg fried rice and banana pancakes for two days.
Railay had a lot of garbage and there was a horrible sewage smell this time. I would recommend going early and take the last boat back, don’t stay the night.
Oh that sounds super intense!! A bit of a different experience to ours 😅 luckily no food poisoning!

I think if pad Thai is orange/pink they’ve used shrimp paste like they do in Thipsamai I’m not sure though tbh.
Sometimes they literally use sriracha and it also makes it orange 🥹😅
For authentic traditional Padthai 's souce actually made from tamarind... so real padthai is suppose to have brown colours....
The legit “orange” pad Thai’s orange color comes from the fat from the head of the prawns, it would also cost more than the regular pad Thai. We don’t put ketchup in pad Thai.
In some countries (in Europe) they don’t make it properly and use ketchup sometimes… 🥹
Out of everywhere I travelled in Thailand I thought railay and koh Tao were by far the most overrated . Lipe and Lanta are far superior

It’s hard to tell - it didn’t seem too “lads holiday” or couples up. A lot of various families and I’m sure there were also solo travellers!

Sometimes it may NOT be true food poisoning but rather different bacteria in foods that your body is not familiar or used to. Just saying Make sure the food is cooked well.

We use the Sony a7siii and usually use the ecm-b10 (I think it’s called) microphone. The lens is tamron 17-50mm 🙏🏼🙏🏼 sometimes we also use audio through our rode 2 wireless mics with a rode go lapel mic attached to it!

Breezy clothing and aircon, haha! Make sure to stay hydrated! 👀 We didn’t get unwell at all, so just if something looks questionable - don’t eat it! If something looks like it’s been out for a while in the heat, don’t eat it - careful with meats (whenever we are a bit concerned we tend to eat more simple noodle dishes!) 🙏🏼😍
