I think Jar of Flies may be my all time favorite album. I was a teenager when it came out, and I still listen to it regularly now. It evokes all the same feelings now that it did then for me.
Really nice to see companies supporting artists trying to support future artists. Please let Donner know I ordered myself this same guitar and looper not because i need more gear but because i like to support those that support others. Keep up the great vids.
That’s really nice of you Andre! I will pass that on for sure mate! Yea they were really accommodating with my gear requests for the school, really nice people to work with and the equipment really makes a difference. I got a lovely note from the young lad who got the Donner electric I demoed. I feel incredibly lucky with having so many awesome people like yourself watching these vids so it’s nice to be in a position to pay it forward in a small way 🤘😊
Once again- fantastic job- What a great page you have created- Every time- I hear a tune, it think of a tune- I love figuring it out- but then, also love finding your lesson and seeing how I did- Bravo-
Loving learning this song. Your tutorial is my favorite I have found on TH-cam. Thank you for including the solos. What a hauntingly, beautiful song. We are not worthy.
Favorite finish: Quilted maple top with a natural arctic blue burst on a color matched Mahogony body. Great work on this iconic song. That Donner guitar sounds pretty good.
Great song thanks for the updated lesson. Fav finish Honey Burst on Les Paul with the grain coming through. Honorable mention. Lake Placid Blue on a Tele.
I love the Lake Placid Blue finish on my new Harley Benton Tele! It’s a beauty! Thanks for your video lessons! Very helpful and love the songs you spotlight! Cheers! Scott
My favorite finish on a guitar has to be the blue/silver sunburst that was on an inexpensive Westone I traded up for as a teenager- gave a guy my Honda 185S motorcycle for it. The guy who had it before me had added a couple nice double coil pickups- no idea what brand but they sounded great. I remember figuring out how to play speed metal riffs in my bedroom with it- I was so stoked when I figured out my first Metallica song- I was convinced I was on my way. It was a couple tracks from their "Kill'em All" album - "Jump in the Fire" and "Seek and Destroy" - LOL- I can't believe I remember that- haven't thought about that in many, many years. Put it this way- that album had just come out- that's why I was learning those songs. That donner sounded pretty good- surprised me tbh. I'm still picking my old Epiphone me and my dad pulled out of the trash when I was a kid and repaired- love it. My dad made acoustic instruments in his retirement so I have several of his guitars, mandolins, banjos, even left me an old dobro but- I think I prize that ole Epiphone we saved over all of them. Someone broke the neck off and tossed it and we go it out, put a neck on it refinished it, and I've been playing it every since. I've got an old Gibson arch-top he left me to- with the F style holes in the face instead of the round hole under the strings. I need to go through all the old stuff and see what's what- haven't wanted to since dad passed tbh but- it's time.
Wow that's so cool you've got so much memories in all those instruments and are still breathing new life into them! Amazing mate. I hear you with Metallica too, my first proper album was "Master Of Puppets" - was a huge Metallica fan!!
As I am venturing into dark arts of soloing it would nice create something to play over. My fave fave finish is on my latest guitar which prs toreno, a gorgeous smoked red. Bought it for a steal as the guy thought it was broke as the floyd rose trem had a piece of wood under bridge just flapping about. Took it off and plays like a dream
My favourite finish would have to be Nitrocellulose lacquer, i reckon a guitar thats a bit battered and worn is way cooler and gives it history and i find this finish is susceptible to being worn down easier. Great video as always man keep up the good work.
Great video as usual! I definitely would like that looper :) My favorite finish on a guitar is the Nitro, although I have seen some Poly finishes that look quite beautiful as well. Keep the amazing work and hopefully you can get to some Tres Mts. songs in the future!
I just discovered your channel and have been binge watching your videos. Especially the Stone Temple Pilots ones. Could you do an acoustic version of Glide?
Great lesson yet again… 🤘 honestly I love a classic brown/black sunburst in any guitar as it’s the same colour as my dog. 🐶. I also have a black and white guitar which is the same colour of my other dog 🐶. 😂😂 there’s a pattern here 😂🤣
Excellent lesson! Best way to finish a guitar is either to smash it like Townsend or set it on fire, then smash it like Jimi 😂😂 seriously though my current favourite would be the Duesenberg Paloma in red sparkle, beautiful 🤘🎸 (I don’t own one, just drool over the photos)
Great video, been looking for a nice looper pedal for a while. Favourite finish? Depends on the guitar, but a classic tobacco burst strat or a black Les Paul with gold hardware are perfect in my eyes.
Congrats for the videos, I just love them and learn a lot. Please record "I know somethin (bout you)" from Alice I'm Chains Facelift Album. Hugs from a Brazilian friend, Edu Elias
It's funny but it's the music that I'm learning on the guitar at the moment 🤔😯🙄and Down in the hole by Alice in chains ! Well but it's only a detail. Otherwise I love your videos.
This acoustic guitar got nylon strings, why? I was thinking about do this same with my old acoustic, instead to buy classic guitar, but don't know if this gonna be good idea.
I got it when I turned 17, few years later I meet Jerry Cantrell and hang out i hours when AIC played in Copenhagen the first time we smoked all day and laughed and had fun, he’s a huge inspiration to me Copenhagen supports
Too many options, but I do like a nice relic look. No matter if it's done on purpose or not 😅 So far I haven't managed to do that to my guitars 🙊 EDIT: corrected a bad autocorrect 🤣
** Competition winner announcement.....Rob Flanegan you are the looper winner! Congrats man! Thanks to everyone who took part :-) **

Wow! Thanks for the great video.
Thanks Matt 🤘🔥
I always love Jeff's orange bass. So that's my favorite finish
excellent choice sir!
Duuuuude!! Just picked a random winner and you won! Get in touch with me at letsplayallguitar@gmail.com and I'll get it over to you!
Guitar sounds amazing
Thank you for this tutorial.
Amazing work man 🙏🏼
Thanks Jason!

Bought it for a steal as the guy thought it was broke as the floyd rose trem had a piece of wood under bridge just flapping about. Took it off and plays like a dream
That sounds lush and nice find!! Love my PRS 🤘😊
My favourite finish would have to be Nitrocellulose lacquer, i reckon a guitar thats a bit battered and worn is way cooler and gives it history and i find this finish is susceptible to being worn down easier. Great video as always man keep up the good work.
Good choice, plus less stress when knocking it into things (which i often do with my guitars tbh!)
Great video as usual! I definitely would like that looper :) My favorite finish on a guitar is the Nitro, although I have seen some Poly finishes that look quite beautiful as well.
Keep the amazing work and hopefully you can get to some Tres Mts. songs in the future!
Good choice! You're in the running mate!
Brilliant Matt. The rhythm on this drives me mad. Not as easy as you make it look. Cheers.
Thanks man!
oh hell yessss cant wait to play this
My Favorite finish on a guitar is acoustic Mahogany body with a matt finish (Orangewood Rey Mahogany for reference)
nice!
So awesome
I just discovered your channel and have been binge watching your videos. Especially the Stone Temple Pilots ones. Could you do an acoustic version of Glide?
Thanks for the suggestion Caleb!
Yeah the guy is really good and enthusiastic on the subject
@@kkrsnn5632 Yeah, and he makes it all very easy to understand for even a beginner to novice level learner like myself.
@@LetsPlayAll I really hope you do. I love this song and there isn't any channels that break it down that I could find.
@@searchbar83 100% agreed
One of the greatest song ever ! ( with Down in a hole)
Current favorite finish, the Jenna Jameson King V I just picked up. It calls to be played. Just something about it.
I had to google that :-)
Really nice rose wood color with very high gloss maple blended together ABSOLUTLY beautiful !!!!
KennethTwardzik!
Do Silvergun Superman by STP 🎸
that one's on the list :0)
My favourite finish is on Chris Cornell’s Gibson ES-335’s. Still can’t decide between the drab green or the satin black though!
Thanks mate! You're in it to win it!
Great lesson yet again… 🤘
honestly I love a classic brown/black sunburst in any guitar as it’s the same colour as my dog. 🐶. I also have a black and white guitar which is the same colour of my other dog 🐶. 😂😂 there’s a pattern here 😂🤣
haha amazing, just aswell you don't have Dalmatians ;-)
Gorgeous master
THIS IS MY FAVORITE SONG TO PLAY !!!
enjoy mate! such a hypnotic riff
😂😂 proper old school relic'ing you mean? i can get on board with that 🤘😀
thanks dear master
i learn many songs thorugh your videos
but i have question
is it possible to learn " nobody breaks you by jerry cantrell"?
Lots more Jerry to come, best place is Patreon for specific stuff mate as I have a long list!
Perfect you are the best Matt and my favorite guitar finish is the Travis Bean TB1000A with aluminum neck, what do you think of that one?
hadn't seen that, that's a beaut!
Great video, been looking for a nice looper pedal for a while. Favourite finish? Depends on the guitar, but a classic tobacco burst strat or a black Les Paul with gold hardware are perfect in my eyes.
Oosh! Nice 🤘
Also really cool of you to donate to help kids learn how to play at an early age that otherwise couldn’t afford too!
Ah thanks man, we need to ensure the next generation of musicians play guitar haha :-)
*Eres el mejor!*
Congrats for the videos, I just love them and learn a lot. Please record "I know somethin (bout you)" from Alice I'm Chains Facelift Album. Hugs from a Brazilian friend, Edu Elias
I like the clear red poly on my 80s Aria =]
oh yes! ;-)
It's funny but it's the music that I'm learning on the guitar at the moment 🤔😯🙄and Down in the hole by Alice in chains ! Well but it's only a detail. Otherwise I love your videos.
Hej, when "where did you sleep last night"? Thanks for the nutshell
You're welcome! Good shout, need to do some more Nirvana soon!
I have a black finish on my accoustic!
Immense!
This acoustic guitar got nylon strings, why? I was thinking about do this same with my old acoustic, instead to buy classic guitar, but don't know if this gonna be good idea.
@@Cezarygon they’re metal strings, not nylon mate. It’s an electro acoustic so sounds a bit like nylon I guess
What is the tunning
Std AIC tuning, guitar down 1/2 step - put a note on screen in the beginning mate :-)
Please help me out with another Seattle band’s song! I’m really struggling with Crazy Love by Gruntruck. Help me Obi Wan, you’re my only hope
Man i've never heard of them, will check them out :-)
Favourite ending
( Rockicks “ Highway Gypsy” )
Thanks for learning content

good tutorial, please teacher, could you make a tutorial of "Down in a Hole" from MTV Unplugged??? I think it would be great!!!
good shout, i've done the electric version but not the Unplugged, it's on the list!
❤❤🎸❤️❤️
Too many options, but I do like a nice relic look. No matter if it's done on purpose or not 😅 So far I haven't managed to do that to my guitars 🙊
EDIT: corrected a bad autocorrect 🤣
Not sure what you're talking about.
@@Chugins I was answering to Matt's question 😊
@@jannetunturi oooh sorry, I missed that bit!
@@Chugins 😉🤘
Big fan of relics!
This is the unplugged version. What we really want is the studio version, particularly that little arpeggio lick at the end
Don’t worry, on the list 🤘
I wanted to type out a pun on a famous Finnish person, but there aren’t any.
Kimi Räikkönen perhaps?! :-)
That's it in a nutshell
🤦♂️ I apologise again, I'm getting worse not better.
