Hello, Ben. Today I became a subscriber to your channel and watched this episode, as my first. I want to praise you for being an excellent presenter: you ask short and specific questions, you don't interrupt the guest and you listen carefully to what the guest is saying. Few presenters today can boast of these qualities. Keep up the good work and I will continue to enjoy your channel. Greetings from Belgrade, Serbia.
People will say he’s boring. But ultimately he’s just very old school and isn’t going to gossip about what happened in the dressing room. And to be fair, you’ve got to respect that. Even if it is underwhelming to watch.
Understand what you mean. But if you are going to listen to something for an hour and a half you want it to be interesting. Talking about things that happened isn't gossip, all the players are retired now anyway
At the beginning of Solskjaers run, they had a bigger rotation of the squad and everybody got a chance. The moment Ole got the full time job, the rotation was shortened and the players looked a little tired or burned out at the end.
Lost respect for him after his interview with Talksports. He defended Ole with reasons which could very well be applied to Ten Hag, yet he said Ten Hag doesn’t merit a second chance. Rode on SAF coattail long enough, time to be your own man. His body language during the Rangnick days was bang out of order.
The clarity he has for his own role is really impressive. I know ppl wish for more 'masala' but it seems to be that is how he did his job too. Tunnel vision n all that.
He’s boring, but he speaks really well. Mick’s a legend who has definitely made the most of his career and chances. The players always spoke highly of him as well.
@@Stm1054 got the utmost respect for Mike but it’s his monotone voice for me and he rarely gets animated! Love the man and love that he’s associated with my club and I even had the pleasure of meeting him twice when he was at Hull City…but he’s boring 😂

Any question that was of possible interest was answered with a shrug of the shoulders or “ I wasn’t the manager. Nothing to do with me .Not my responsibility “ . Mike Phelan didn’t really provide any meaningful insight into his time at United . I get the feeling that his second stint at United was possibly a Sir Alex appointment to be his ex bosses eyes and ears at Carrington

Ferguson was an old school manager he got out at the right time his last premier league title took a lot out of him . To Play devils advocate could he really compete against the city machine now ?
We’ve spent about £100M less than City. They spent it over 16 years from 2008. About 90% of ours was spent after Fergie retired. If he had been physically able to keep going for another ten years that would have been more than enough to allow us to compete with anyone. The money spent has been spent so poorly it gives the impression that it was never spent at all…

"Sir Alex had a reputation for changing his assistant regularly".... No he didn't Ben. Brian Kidd was there for years and only left because he got an opportunity of a first team coach at Blackburn.
