Multiple agencies responded to George Co. Ms. to assist in the search for a missing 77-year-old woman who walked away from a personal care home on July 17th. The George Co. Sheriff's Department and Emergency Management Agency coordinated the search which lasted for two and a half days. George County Search and Rescue set up a base camp. Mississippi Emergency Management Agency, and Harrison County Fire Rescue deployed UAVs in the search, Task Force Three had boots on the ground, K-9 units from Gulf Coast Search and Rescue and Jackson County Search and Rescue were used along with the Jackson County Ms. Flotilla. The area had thick woods and a large creek ran near the house. The temperatures with the heat index were around 109 degrees. The missing woman was found safe by search crews, in a wooded area about a mile from the home.
