"Don't go up the stairs." "Why?" * cryptic response* "What does that have to do with anything?" * aggressive cryptic response* "Can you give me any answers?" * cryptic silence.*
I remember seeing stairs in the woods. Nice a short. I walked up them. The only thing I found was a good view of the area. The reson your not supposed to go to them it the can be unstructerly sound. The one I found was made of stone and a little Crumbly. Good for finding mushrooms when mushroom hunting
Random fact: That picture of a man in the first story is actually a real person and his name was Raymond Robinson. He got horribly disfigured because he got electrocuted when he was 8 years old. He apparently likes to go on walks and he tends to do it at night time to avoid scaring people and because of that, he was actually struck by cars a few times. But on a positive note, mans lived a full life and he peacefully passed away in 1985 at the age of 74.
Thank you for that. I was very curious what that pic was about. Bless that man’s heart!! He had to have had a hard time to live like that since he was 8 years old!! 😢 how did you know this?
@@Yerpompous There was another video that used his photo, and I think one of his nephews/relatives commented about him and how he was. I figured I would just spread the info cause I noticed his photo is getting used in a few horror vids.
@@metokyan5804 I love that you are doing that for him. ❤️ That poor man. I like to imagine someone being in their house, getting ready to go upstairs, only to find that the staircase is missing, and their all like "oh dammit not again!"
Yeah I caught that too, and like when homies hand got yoink off it disappeared. My curiosity has me wanting to know the timeline between the hand severed off incident and tree cutting incident.
I thought the exact same thing, dead ass it was probably the dude's severed hand in the tree. I speculated the stairs may be interdimensional and he reached his hand too far over the threshold and it ended up somewhere else in the woods.
Man I miss this age of the internet. 4chan and Reddit stories were the absolute best and most interesting stories I’ve ever read. Many of these people deserve to become authors and make money.
@@impishlyit9780yep. Rinse and repeat killed it. Problem is it’s the smaller channels now that do the trash “I bought 5 grams of black tar on dark web, then my family dog got kidnapped by a satanic vegetarian sex cult that trapped my dog in the annals of the dark web for eternity” stories
@@impishlyit9780 Ain't this the sad truth. So many bad stories now because people's attention spans got shorter and they don't appreciate the slow-burns. I'd argue that this one isn't even a slow-burn, it's a multipart roller coaster. But no, now r/nosleep's front page is a bunch of stupid multi-part stories that are horribly written and end with a twist just for the sake of a twist. It's abysmal.
i'm sure this is an obvious connection but i love the fact that the author leaves it up to the listener to realize the severed hand from the stair story likely was the one that ended up fused to that tree
Ok I have actually seen one of those only once in my life my dad said don’t play with it I was abt 13 deep deep in the woods up behind his old summer house
when you start to connect the dots.... (spoiler warning) so they found a baby in a *hollow* log. the two boys go missing, one found said to be kept by the "fuzzy man" who let him stay in a *hollow* log. one of the first stories was of a child being taken by a "bear man" (same guy as fuzzy man?). also the "fuzzy man" had no face and would scream loudly. remember the climber who said he saw a man at the top of a cliff with no face who screamed??? also how that worker randomly showed up miles away from the camp, and how people would show up tens of miles away from where they should be. those people randomly vanishing just like her.. and how when they did show up it was as if they had just died, or just went missing when in reality it was much longer. for her it felt like 30 min when it was 2 days.. also the man who's hand got cut, the hand being found in a *hollow* tree..
The one when the baby was accidentally dropped, it nearly made me cry, just thinking about what pain the parents went through, just seeing their baby, lifeless, on the ground.
same, idk if most of these stories are real but that one is just so sad because it's something that could so very well happen. it just hit particularly hard, and i'm sure the parents were just hoping for a lovely hike with their baby and everything just went so painfully wrong.
@@viatheanimator That's what made that story like, so terrifying. Because even if that particular case wasn't true, the possibility of the story being true about a different family just makes it hit different.
this is a collection i’ll never stop coming back to. The mix of the fantastical and the crushingly grounded stories, along with the clear knowledge of the author, lends a believability that’s rare in the genre. It’s just classic. I retell some of these as campfire stories on occasion

Honestly, the part with the kid who froze to death while crying is devastating for me. One of my major triggers is kids (especially young ones) going through traumatic stuff/dying in horrible ways
I think it's the same for most people. Most normal people. I think I'll spend my entire life trying to wonder how people exist out there that desire bringing various forms of harm to children. It's innate to protect them. What makes these ppl vary so wildly off the course?

It sounds like to me it’s a case to do with the fuzzy man. Maybe the man tried to put him there so he wouldn’t get cold, but doesn’t understand human physiology
I do the same. It’s just such a good, creepy compilation of very scary instances based on what actually goes down in the woods. I think after listing to a lot of David Paulides’ interviews it just makes listing to this so much creepier.
I commented a while ago telling you that I used to watch this video with my dad when he was in the hospital, it was our comfort video…. The phrase “he took an impossibly long step towards him” has actually haunted me for years. The whole image really got under my skin and stuck with me.
to everyone commenting on his voice change: he has gerds, and this eroded his throat and caused his voice to change. Edit: he also did have some natural voice deepening over the years but such a drastic change was bc of medical stuff, including his body processing a shit load of testosterone.

DeadisBetter bear rhymes with where . where did these stairs come from? do the bears know where the stairs come from? if a bear climbs the stair does it know where it leads? if the bear climbs the stairs does it bleed on the way to where it leads? plot twist the bears are the stair creators and secretly engineer these stairs to confuse humans
fr. when he blew up for music I was shocked. I don't listen to much of his music anymore (esp after removing DAYWALKER after MGK (🤢🤮) rewrote it) Corpse should go back to narration
“Don’t touch them, don’t look at them, don’t go up them.” Gets me EVERY time. I’m always in tears when this video is over for one reason or another, whether I’m straight up terrified or thinking about those kids whose parents will always have to wonder, and I’ve watched this a HUNDRED times. I would love to make this into a short film with the OP’s permission, these stories are so original and haunting.
Eight years later and I’m still re-watching this. This must be my 536 watch. This is what it inspired me to become a forest search and rescue volunteer, although it led me to become a wildlife firefighter. I had hopes that he would continue this series.
Reading the comments on people getting physically sick on some stories makes me wonder where I got so desensitized And whoever wrote these deserve some type of award

I saw a sign that pointed to an abandoned house in the middle of the woods and you bet my dumbass checked it out. It just had a lot of penis graffiti and torn up bibles. I saw signs of squatters up stairs and dipped in case they were sleeping cuz I've been homeless and the worst feeling is finding a spot to sleep, finally falling asleep, and then hearing people coming towards you. Shits scarier than actually finding a sleeping dude in the woods
I can't tell you how many times I've listened to this video. This one has always been my favorite. I may have started with mr. Around 1:04:00, when the kid says "He wasn't scary, but he didn't like how the man didn't have eyes" for some reason that scared the living shit out of me.
I have a friend who’s parents live out in the country in Texas, and she was staying at their house alone one weekend to watch their dog while they were away. She said it was late one night, around 10 pm, and her dog started barking at something outside in the backyard. She let the dog out and could hear a weird noise coming from behind their back fence. She stood there and watched and listened, thinking it sounded like some sort of farm machine like a tractor or something. She then realized it wasn’t that but she didn’t know what it was and she was scared. It sounded other-worldly. She says after what felt like 2-3 minutes passed, she looked down and her dog was sat staring at her like “what are you doing mom, you okay?” The noise had stopped, she went back inside the house, looked at the clock, and 4 hours had passed. It went from 10 pm to 2 am in what felt like 2 or 3 minutes. She said she was so freaked out. She thinks it was possibly aliens. She was not on drugs or drinking at the time, only watching a movie when it happened. Still haunts me thinking about her telling that story.
Kind of reminds me of the stories I hear from people who have played with Ouija boards. Like massive amounts of time that just go missing: 30 mins to like 4 hours. It's always kind of horrifying to lose time (esp as someone with pretty severe ADHD) but knowing you haven't spaced out and lost time anyway? Yikes that's gotta be fuckin terrifying...
I come back to this video so often, it’s one of the best “spooky horror narration” videos on the entire platform. Wish there were more like this. Perfect music, perfect pacing, great emotions in the narration. Probably my favorite video on TH-cam ❤
I remember finding this years ago way before he blew up. I still find myself coming back to this every other year or so. Probably my favorite reading his voice fits perfectly with these stories.
It is odd, and I've seen similarities with other stories from this, if you look up missing 411 it's a book series written by a person who was a police detective who started doing research onto the many missing cases in national Parks across America and into Canada, a lot of them end up missing without a Trace and sometimes they're found usually without their clothes on and shoes and clothes arranged right next to their bodies. It's really strange and if you're interested I suggest looking into it
Related to the stairs thing, this is actually true. I'm only a teenager and not a search and rescue officer but when me and my friends used to explore in the woods, we found ATLEAST 3 or 4 staircases. Only about a mile or so into the woods too. We also found random crates and large metal pipes. It was always super eiery and I forgot about it up until now.
DO YOU REMEMBER GOING UP THEM?? I had an experience with them when I was a child and there’s like....a fucking trauma response when I try to remember details
I've found random stair cases in the woods near my house, I always assumed they were just parts of unfinished buildings but these stories have me freaked out.... I never wanna have another photoshoot with my cat on those stairs again. T~T
@@emitsu_kitsu They probably aren't unfinished. You don't build stairs first. But when old wooden building rot or are stripped of easily accessible wood , the stairs often stay. It isn't a mystery. Just laziness.
@The Shenaniganator It isn't common. That is the point. These are just fictional stories. It happens occasionally when an old building rots away. And even then , they are old , rotted stairs. Not "untouched". You understand that this video is just a story , yes ? And the people just making jokes - of course they are. Because it is just a story and this is not a real phenomenon. And that the people saying it "seriously" are still just ... adding to the story. That doesn't make it true.
This is undoubtedly my favorite piece of content he's ever produced, I find comfort in coming back ot and listening to it. First time commenting however. Hello fellow returnees 🙂
Hold up, there was a guy whose hand was cut clean off at the top of one of the staircases, then a different group finds a perfectly severed hand fuzed with the wood inside of a tree? Not a coincidence
my guess is the guy made it up the mountain but were suffering from some kind of oxygen depravation. He saw another hiker who was wearing a mask to shield from the cold, and thought they had no face. They freaked out and ran away, getting injured in the process. The other climber sees this happening and, out of concern for the man tries to follow, but can't without getting hurt. So, he ends up just doing his best to keep up as far as he can tell, calling out for the guy through his mask intermittently, resulting in "muffled screams".
If its the same as the image used it's The Green Man or Charlie No-Face. He was said to be disfigured in an electrical accident as a kid and as a result went on long walks at night through the woods. He's an urban legend at this point but there is a man behind the legend
This video's my damn childhood. I used to listen to Corpse, BeBusta, and Mr.Nightmare all the time in middle and high school. Glad to see Corpse where he is now. I loved him when he was an unknown, and I love him now when he's famous and finally getting the recognition he deserves.
@@josephwoekel8637 back in the day most definitely! I actually started watching him bc I ran out of mr nightmare videos like 6 or so years ago but I specifically watched corpse because he sound like him. Sounds dumb but at the time I wanted a familiar voice. Now dudes like being scared or Mortis media are killin it with the uploads. When the ogs upload though it definitely hits much better
Yep. Me too. I listen to it over n over. Every night I want some creepshow in the background . Does CH have other stuff? I check his spot but it's all just random stuff. If there's other stuff, how do I find it?
So, there's staircases all over the forests and they are so common that they are encountered regularly on searches for missing people. So regularly that everyone knows about these stair cases. Everyone knows that you should never go near them, never touch them and never - ever - walk up them. Mysteriously some of them look in perfect condition, with untouched carpet as if they have been teleported from a new house right in to the middle of nowhere. But ... The most mysterious, terrifying aspect of these staircases is that despite so many people encountering them no-one - ever - takes a photo of them and posts it on the internet.
I remember seeing these alot in the woods when I was growing up. My mom would always tell me it's because the stairs and the chimmy deteriorate way less fast than the rest of the house . So where there used to be a house ..now just brick stairs or a chimney.. even if there used to be a foundation it's probably buried.
And I'm still here in 2024 to fall asleep to this as my fav video. Thank you corpse! This narration calmed my brain more times than I could count until I was able to sleep.
@@tylerlabombard9092 another comment said it’s because of his condition and that it became too painful for him to do it anymore. @@YoungDymisty- That was part of it. He also got doxxed and another site claimed to have found out who he really was and posted what were supposedly photos of him. The backlash from some of his parasocial “fans” - the ones who convinced themselves he was really good-looking (even though he often stated he wasn’t) - was nasty: calling him ugly and unsubscribing from his channel. Didn’t do much for his mental health, which he said was as bad as his physical health. Sad.

I never understood why people always were missing their shoes when they were in the woods.. that was until I, myself, got lost in the woods. I was drinking a bit and had some alcohol in a Gatorade bottle that I took with me. I was originally hanging out with a friend, until he started getting weird and drunk. He was being overly touchy and emotional, and I'm not an emotional girl, nor do I like dealing with uncomfortable rejection. I had a boyfriend and this friend knew that. I decided when he went into the bathroom, that I would head home. I started walking the back roads. I did not have a cellphone on me, just shorts, a tank top and sandals. I dont know why, but it was so late that I figured I would avoid the main streets to be safer. I regret that decision now. As I was walking the back streets home, I ended up noticing that I was growing unfamiliar with the area. I've walked this way many times, but it was pitch black dark out, no moon, just a black dark sky. I couldn't see anything. I kept walking and noticed that I ended up in the woods. Confused as to how I got there, I was trying to see if I could spot any light at all. I walked and walked through the woods, getting more panicked as I walked through complete darkness. During a certain point, I started running and noticed more that I couldn't see anything at all and the woods was getting thicker and thicker. Both of my shoes were ripped off me, I was bitten by a spider, had a huge cut on my foot, and was completely freaked out. After hours of trekking through the woods, I fell to my knees, completely broken down, and just screamed, "HELP!!! SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME!!!!". I was an emotional wreck at this point. I was still kinda tipsy and just felt defeated and beyond frustrated. I decided that if nobody heard me, I would try to get some sleep and try to find out where I was in the morning. With one last attempt, I screamed for help. It seemed like it was hopeless and that I was too far out for anyone to hear me. Suddenly, I see a bright light coming into the woods. The cops were there and I was so relieved I hugged the officer immediately. He was concerned about my cut on my foot and the spider bite, so after a bit of hiking with him, we reached the patrole car and i hopped in back. It took a little while to get the car out of there. I guess there were several officers that were looking for me, it just happened that this officer heard my second cry for help. When we got to the station, he asked me questions about how i got there, i explained the situation and once he determined that i wasnt in any danger, and my foot was bandaged up, he was going to take me back home. When I told him where I lived and where I was coming from, he was baffled. I guess that I ended up going 8 miles into the woods in the opposite direction and was only 3 feet away from a massive cliff that would have killed me if I had fallen down it. Thankfully, I stopped where I did and I remained there until he found me. I was never so embarrassed or grateful in my entire life.

@shadeyreign7353 I think you misunderstood my comment. There's nothing wrong with him showing his face. People were practically stalking him about wanting to see his face. Pictures came up of him when he was younger... And because people said he didn't look like he sounded, he was harassed pretty badly. That's why he disappeared for a while long ago. Person walking through the woods comes across a random staircase. He stops and says “I really like that staircase.” Next day, starts building a house around the staircase.
Can we just take a minute to appreciate how much effort Corpse Husband puts his videos? Like, he’s such a good narrator, not to mention the pictures of stairs he finds, as well as the background music.
This is honestly my favorite video of his. I've been listening to this for years whenever I have trouble sleeping and I only discovered it again recently. I have some stories practically memorized lol.
Now all I can think about is all the iron swords and wooden shields laying around in my skyrim playthru... and that just makes me think of "if any of this disappears I'm blaming you"
I've seen the stairs. But mine didn't go up a whole floor (10 ft.). They were little 10 steps 5 feet. There was a log cabin that had degenerated from age. All except for the fire-place, and a couple 3 or 4, huge ass logs. Those things must have been 2 feet in diameter. That the rest of the house could melt away and leave those logs. And then, on the departure. After we built a fire for a couple hours, it was snowing. There was this little staircase off about 100 yards from the house. And the stairs were in good enough condition to actually climb if you tried. They had briars and brambles all growing around them. So you couldn't go up to them and check them out. I said "why the hell you think those little stairs are over there"? And why they in such good condition. It's like somebody's been painting them with that wood preserver stuff. But why? And how, they are all unreachable. And I left and have never thought about it again. Until today, 30 years later.

I like the fact that there’s real emotion, the horror in his voice from hearing the most fucked up thing. The music and horror sounds are absolutely perfect. I always come back to this narration whenever I want to show someone anything horror
Honestly, a lot of these stories are heartbreaking to listen to. I feel really bad for the parents and people who have their kids or loved ones missing for months and/or dead.
the one I don't get, what are you doing out in the wild with a baby (the 15 month old with the cracked skull), why the need to crawl up rocky terrain with a baby - but it's not only the parents fault, alone for safety reasons, the park needs to put up a minimum age +even if nothing had happened, would the child have anything remembered from this "experience" - no, plain and simple
I suggest supporting Dave paulidas! He’s the creator of missing 411 and has a TH-cam channel called “Canam missing project.” He’s pretty much dedicated his life to re-opening missing peoples cases, primarily people that go missing in the forests of Canada and the US. He seems like an awesome guy and really cares about each and every one of the people that have gone missing without a trace. The families deserve closure !!
the story with the man making a meow sound- i have a story EXACTLY like that. i get chills every time i talk about it because it seriously creeps me the fuck out. I was with my friends outside and it was around 7:46-7:52 PM and we were in this area where theres this abandoned waterpark and next to it theres a few bushes but theres also houses and apartment complexes around so its mostly safe to be there in the day time but at night theres lots of groups coming there esp when its summer but the time this happened to me was in winter- this winter. its always very cold so most people from my city dont even go out during winters or if they do they go to restaurants and stuff like that but a few weeks ago i was out with my friends and we were chilling around that abandoned waterpark area and we hear this strange "meow" and we ignore it since it was pretty far away from us then we hear it again around 8:04 PM and it was WAAAAY closer and it sounded more like a bark and a meow combined so we were rightfully confused and slightly scared and then 5 minutes later we hear the "meowing" get more frequent and fast and loud and one of my friends decides to go with me to check it out and when we get there we see this man, in a grey hoodie, black straight long hair, covering his face with it, with a black jacket. We see him- he sees us- we run, and he starts running after us. We yell out to our other friends to run because we're being chased and they start running right away. For 5 days straight we heard that "meowing" sound in every place we went and the last time we heard it, we also heard footsteps following us
His voice like dropped two full octaves over four years

Random fact: That picture of a man in the first story is actually a real person and his name was Raymond Robinson. He got horribly disfigured because he got electrocuted when he was 8 years old. He apparently likes to go on walks and he tends to do it at night time to avoid scaring people and because of that, he was actually struck by cars a few times. But on a positive note, mans lived a full life and he peacefully passed away in 1985 at the age of 74.

I thought the exact same thing, dead ass it was probably the dude's severed hand in the tree. I speculated the stairs may be interdimensional and he reached his hand too far over the threshold and it ended up somewhere else in the woods.
These stairs are scary, but then again so are all these missing persons cases because all of them have something to do with... creatures or beings

I come back to this video so often, it’s one of the best “spooky horror narration” videos on the entire platform. Wish there were more like this. Perfect music, perfect pacing, great emotions in the narration. Probably my favorite video on TH-cam ❤

The moral of the story for me:

@@peppermintsky5536 yeah, plenty of these people (well mostly the children) went missing when they were with others

Everybody be talking about the stairs, but can we talk about how weird it is that almost everyone that got found, their shoes was missing?
Is this a new advanced foot fetish?
It is odd, and I've seen similarities with other stories from this, if you look up missing 411 it's a book series written by a person who was a police detective who started doing research onto the many missing cases in national Parks across America and into Canada, a lot of them end up missing without a Trace and sometimes they're found usually without their clothes on and shoes and clothes arranged right next to their bodies. It's really strange and if you're interested I suggest looking into it

That's how you know someone is super dead.
Me too they actually scared me
I've found random stair cases in the woods near my house, I always assumed they were just parts of unfinished buildings but these stories have me freaked out....

I have cimbed stairs in the woods. Yes, I know, it's amazing. Who wants to touch me?
I literally have chills… especially the stories about the faceless man, hairy man, and of course the staircases!
The guy with no face: hmm, yes I am normal human man. I enjoy air and walking.
I think you mean "mmff fmfmmhf mhuhmhffbmuh ffummnnmuhggf"
@@yefferybeans9761 but didn't he could scream?
(I mean not like I wanna get in details on how a faceless man can scream but)
my guess is the guy made it up the mountain but were suffering from some kind of oxygen depravation.

But ... The most mysterious, terrifying aspect of these staircases is that despite so many people encountering them no-one - ever - takes a photo of them and posts it on the internet.
or no one has the chance to post it.....
google stairs in national forest its real
I remember seeing these alot in the woods when I was growing up. My mom would always tell me it's because the stairs and the chimmy deteriorate way less fast than the rest of the house . So where there used to be a house ..now just brick stairs or a chimney.. even if there used to be a foundation it's probably buried.
I feel like id be too scared to take a photo
You do realize these stories aren’t real right? These are creepypastas. Silly kids
I think the hand that they found in the dead tree is the same hand that got cut off at the top of one of the stairs and was never found...

Sad.

Aren't the Wendigo just cannibals?
Nathan Miller no. The Wendigo is an evil spirit that posses humans trapped in unsurvivable conditions, and drives them to the point of cannibalism.

Um ok

Jesus Christ....

I think that this is the absolute most perfect horror narration. I love that it’s actually scary and not just all jumbled up. Honestly, a lot of these stories are heartbreaking to listen to. I feel really bad for the parents and people who have their kids or loved ones missing for months and/or dead.
the one I don't get, what are you doing out in the wild with a baby (the 15 month old with the cracked skull), why the need to crawl up rocky terrain with a baby - but it's not only the parents fault, alone for safety reasons, the park needs to put up a minimum age
+even if nothing had happened, would the child have anything remembered from this "experience" - no, plain and simple
Most if not all of these are fabricated creepypastas.
The more realistic ones were the best, because it's creepier when they actually sound plausible.
Backflip guy: "I am speed"
*Gets shot at and backflips in the opposite direction:" deeps ma I"
underrated comment
This sounds like 2017 gacha-
Lmao
A backflip in the opposite direction is called a front flip lmfao
@@oriaaane 1.) r/whoosh 2.) You can still do a back flip in the opposite direction without doing a front flip

@@Jdabomb93 thanks bro
the story with the man making a meow sound- i have a story EXACTLY like that. i get chills every time i talk about it because it seriously creeps me the fuck out.
For 5 days straight we heard that "meowing" sound in every place we went and the last time we heard it, we also heard footsteps following us
Thank you for sharing. That was a very interesting story 😌
How dare you insults my hobby like that I've been doing that outside of your bedroom window for years
