I just finished binge watching your channel. You are a super girl. Please take care so you can keep making videos. Very informative and great fun to watch. Can't wait for the next one.PS hope your surgeries are successful and quirk recoveries. Best wishes from Illinois.
You certainly are creative ! So many wonderful ideas that you brought to life. I'm trying to imagine the view of the night sky up there with no light pollution interfering with it. So many stars and how beautiful the Moon must be. : ) Thanks for another great video, Michelle.
The last time I was out there, and soaking in the hot tub in the pitch dark, I spent the whole time gazing up at the stars. Yes - the sky is amazing out there!
A beautiful slice of heaven..... at the mercy of Mother nature... She decides the what She will allow to remain and what She would like to reclaim. Fingers crossed... :)
Michelle-your creativity and engineering talent to bring an idea to a functional completion is totally amazing. I’ve built buildings here on our small farm in Georgia including a 1500 square foot garage, and none of these come close to your skill and talents. Thanks for sharing!
The drawer inside a drawer is slick. You could have the primary drawer catch the auxiliary (spice) drawer to bump it open an inch or two if it's fully open.
Loved the Pirate head. My Mum had about half a dozen of them back in the 60's and 70's. Never expected to see one again but here is one almost half way round the world!
The green light for the win. Also that main bed floor bed room is really nice. Thanks for sharing. My aunt also has a sewing machine like the one you have in the main bedroom. Such a nice touch.
Beautiful location, great looking Cabin on the lake. Lots to be said about building your own habitat. This is some of the best filming, and editing I have seen on the internet. You have so many hidden talents . Being a Woodswoman and also an actor. I admit I'm amazed by you.
Heyy Mitch** A Newbie From Liverpool/Uk joining Yiou .. Thats a Real Nice location wow!!! Ime working My Way Through So could Take time nbut enjoying Cheers lol/Hugs Tc xxx
Your home is beautiful, really. You could have been an interior designer, but with your acting talent I'm hoping to see you cast into the next Game of Thrones 👍😎
Michelle, I was up in BC in '84 at Mackies School of Logbuilding outside of Prince George. It was an incredible experience for a young man of 25. (62 now) Drove if from Ohio. Wished I would have found a way to stay. Beautiful, beautiful country. I envy you. I really enjoy your videos and your industrious, inventive nature. Stay safe.
What a cool place Michelle! On the cabinets, you might try making some pull out platforms with ball bearing slides; kind of hybrid drawer/rolling shelf.
Awesome Cabin!…………. Love the rustic look. Surprised that in the “ Penthouse Suite” ( where the major happens!👀☺️) , there wasn’t a mirrored ball hanging off the Beam!??? 😉 #Justathought #Christmasiscoming
I must say I love your style and the cabin is done up very well. Steve has a gorgeous view out there and the lake is amazing as well. ;) He is a lucky man to have all that. Thank you for sharing your amazing home.
Michelle your very talented I don't think there is anything you can't build I love the cabin and yes we were missing you .and hope Steve is doing well hope to see another video soon
Thanks for showing us around you guys's (sp?) comfortable cabin and separate throne room. The wind has a lot of fetch on a big lake. At least it is fresh water, that is very nice. So you wont be anchoring the big boat near here anyway. Keep up the good work and keep the films coming Mich!
Gorgeous home! I really "get" using some paint. Light is everything. Your and Steve's handy skills - and tenacity - have served you well. Good job, guys! 👍😎🇨🇦🌲🐾🏚

Stop being so hard on yourself. The cabinet doors are perfect. Functional is all that really matters. You remind me of my late wife. There was nothing she would not tackle. Press on Michy!
Yoy have very cozy cabin. Lots of ingenious little solutions that are both practical and stylish, like closets and upstairs flooring. Even the outhouse was elegant and there was a sink. You are really skilled at doing it with your hands and by doing it you will constantly learn more. The surrounding landscapes are rugged and truly beautiful. To me, they remind me of the fjords of Norway. BTW, is it a lake or the sea ? You have a really gorgeous cottage, you can be happy about it.
I can see you put a lot effort and thought into this cabin. It looks like it is going to be an ongoing project. I hope you enjoy every minute of it. Thanks for sharing!
Just came across your channel, lovely cabin and enjoyed the tour. Thanks for introducing kitty southgate. I’m A senior in Missouri. Grew up in the hills of Missouri ozarks. Love the country living. New subscriber. 🙋♂️🐈🐈
That's one sweet home you've built I'd love something like that my first house i wanted to be a log canin and got talked out of it 😡 water over the dam now 🙄 enjoy all you have there dearheart wishing you joy peace and happiness❤👍✌🙏
I agree with you about painting the wood. I find it too much, wood everywhere. I love the ceiling beams & wood floors, but I love stone or plastered walls. It adds a bit of contrast & isn't so overpowering. I love log cabins, but I'd never have one. I love a stone house or a cob house. Love your videos love. Thank you. Love from Galicia N.W. Spain. Atb Frank.
Yes, thanks! I received a lot of flack from people about painting the walls, but once I did it I knew it was the right thing too. I’m clearly not done yet, nor done staining the bedrooms, but when it’s all done I think it’ll all look great.
This is only the second episode I've seen, saw I guess last episode doing fridge surround w/ mini-bar and I subscribed but now I see the full cabin tour it's amazing ! Love how you reclaimed/repurposed as much as you could and that outhouse is the shit !
I like the cabin, you have built lots of cool stuff there, I love the way the upstairs wood floor turned out. I do want to mention something, I am not sure if it's a concern in your case, but another video I watched had a solar set-up with batteries in the house and they built a sealed box to put them in with a vent to the outside. Apparently, these types of batteries put off some gas that isn't good. If this isn't the type battery you have then, you probably have the kind that don't put off gases.
One thing I felt that was great for storage was the captain's bed I built. It has 3 drawers on each side and a valance around each side to house a 4" flu. fixture with a switch at the headboard area for a nightlight and to light up the drawers!
Fantastic, thanks for sharing. You both are very skilled with an eye for the unusual, eg the green lampshade, door to battery compartment. Your kitchen doors ard lovely, handmade!
I have 2 big wasted space drawers like that, never thought to use another drawer inside. Good idea and im stealing it lol, we closed in the space under our stairs and have drawers under each step with a mini storage cubbard for canned foods/dehydrated sealed country ham packs to keep out of the normal use spaces
Absolutely! Steal away! You will find you are able to use the space much more efficiently. Just make sure you figure out what the tallest things are that you’ll be putting in each drawer. Good luck!
Wow, you are so friggin talented, absolutely love the sailing theme! So many cool things I can’t even name them all, that plywood use was brilliant everywhere! Thanks so much for the tour of the cabin, truly enjoyed that!
Thank you! I realize I should have got more B roll of some of the decor that’s not really in the video. Steve has been a sailor his whole life and grew up in Nova Scotia- so it just felt right to have a sailing theme. I love vintage and eclectic things, so it’s kind of a combination of both (I think).
Really like the wood counter top above the cupboards you don't like. Loving the marine touches about. (The cleat) anchoring the light. Propeller in background.
The counter was made out of leftover 2x8’s. Forgot to mention that. Steve grew up on the sea and has always sailed, so much of that comes from him. That is a brass prop from his old sailboat!
Quite impressed with what y'all did with the Dovetail Cabin build. Not surprised though, I don't think there's too much you can't do. I really liked Steve's Light House ( is it operable), I have visited bunches and bunches of them.! Living off grid y'all give up a great deal of amenities (that aren't really needed) in exchange for the peacefulness and serenity. Silence (nature) is Golden. Must be hell to have to take a pee in the middle of the night in the middle of winter! Thanks for the tour, y'all are AMAZING!!! P.S., that pirate in the bathroom! Does he got a name?

Pretty amazing the stuff you are not afraid to take on. Your one in a million
That vintage singer is pristine, my Mom had one when I was very young, well over 50 years ago.
