I just went to MEPS a couple of days ago and I have to get a waiver issued for my "Adjustment Disorder" I'm crossing my fingers that it gets approved though!
Rooting for you! It was a long wait for me but it was worth it!
Rooting for you as well.
So did you get it?
@@ZiiShihouin yess i actually did!!
Yay!!!! Have you gotten your ship date yet? Which AFSC are you going for?
Lol im losing weight rn, hopefully the depression diagnosis from a year ago won’t hold me back 😅 there’s another youtuber that had to wait like 7 years before she finally got in! But that guy with the self harm marks you talked about also gives me more hope.
I feel the older you are the more complicated the enlistment process gets. Joined at 35 however, leaving the air force is a laborous journey as well.
I am currently trying to get in. I do take ADHD medication and anxiety medication, but I use the anxiety medication in partnership with my ADHD. I am doubtful but I certainly hope that I can get in without having to wait a whole 3 years.
do you have any updates? i’m in a similar situation
@@awormhole I could be mistaken but I think you have to be without taking the prescription for 15 months. I could be off by more/less but not sure how that works exactly. Probably with passing a drug screen and not failing for amphetamines' and also based on your last prescription fill date.
Waivers suck, I'm waiting on a hearing waiver
Great video !
I am on meds and my psychiatrist said I should do therapy. I have my first appointment next Monday (it is Wednesday today) should I cancel? I am not in tricare. But I will already need a waiver for my meds and asthma from my past. I feel like it’s just racking on the DQ. Mental health shouldn’t be such a barrier to getting in. My mother abused me and I’m 99.9 percent sure my depression is from that. But if I get away from her then I’ll get better. I moved in 2018 and I healed. Came back bc of covid and started meds bc of that…. The woman who took my blood was rude to me all day. She targeted me as soon as I walked in the door.
You don’t necessarily need a waiver for therapy, it’s if you have a diagnosis that the waiver is put in for/ and meds (if are taking). But you do have to stop therapy in order to join (before heading to meps for physical) and if you tell your recruiter that you went to therapy in the past or current you have to hand over ever note they have taken during your sessions. I also believe you have to be off certain meds for 1-2 years before being eligible (I could be wrong on that)
if the general surgeon decides for whatever reason to deny you, is there any chance to try again? or are you denied for life??
I believe a waiver is like an appeal, you would be disqualified from that specific branch but you can always try different branches.
you can try another recruiter if all else fails, it's never really a "life" thing unless that is specified to you.
I was looking online, and someone did say that they ended up talking with their elected representative congressmen and that did change the subject
"Say less" ah, I see my generation is taking over things haha. 😂
I was denied by 3 different branches. So I pretty much gave up lol
