You don't live in Florida, do you? Our fresh water is in aquifers. Underground pockets in limestone. Sometimes things shift. More water usage may inevitably cause these sink holes.

I understand the ground water situation but that sink hole will likely never stop opening up unless they figure out a better way to plug the hole. Also all that gravel and mud they are filling it in with is probably getting mixed in with a fresh water aquifer which probably isn't good. It'd be alot better if they excavated the area and figured out exactly whats going on so they can properly fix it imo. They're probably going to have too eventually if it keeps opening up. I can't imagine 300+ years from now they're going to still have all that fenced off and occasionally have to fill it. I also can't imagine anyone would ever use that land for anything until it's figured out. Might as well get it started!

I went back and watched a few older videos, initially the hole was something like 6 feet deep and gradually got deeper and deeper. When crews were on the scene it was 20 something and seemed to eventually settle around 60ft

Keeping it the way it originally was is a sign to all nature to stay away. What's the point of patching up a sinkhole when it will reopen, it's just apart of a nature design. Jeffery is still fighting to give his family closure and peace. I think because Jeffrey is confused he doesn't know why did the hole up specifically while he was sleeping in the beginning. I think Jeffery is probably have something to do with this sinkhole keeps opening up after the first time. Alot people are in a confused state immediately after death. They don't know they're dead. So they begin to to show us in many ways that they are still there. But because alot of us always believed that there is a logical explanation for this and that. Look at situations from both sides. There's a reason behind everything.
The news of when it initially happened ten years ago made it all the way to the west coast. I remember it made me cry because my world would implode too if I lost my brother/best friend.
The stuff nightmares are made of. How awful for Jeffrey's brother and family. My gosh why should anyone have to endure such tragedy. It would be so very hard to find peace after this but I pray they have.
They should open it as a national park and encourage people to dig it out like a diamond mine. Get to the bottom of why it keeps happening as a group effort!
Its the massive pond behind the property. It floods with ground water that continues to seep through and dissolve the limestone. They need to keep ground water away from limestone rich sublayers near housing.
