I have watched and read loads about this sort of twill but only just now watching yours has it made sense, I have a 4 heddle table loom and I have just managed to see the relevant.Thank you
Glad it was helpful
I still have a question about the threading, but thanks for trying to explain. I have never done a twill so I'll get a book out. I get the actual weaving because your views are clear. Your close-ups really help. Thank you!!!
I will be creating a more detailed twill video in the future. Thanks
Is there a video that shows how you warped the loom. I understand that there are 2 in the slots and 1 in the holes. Where does the one come from. I know that sounds silly but I'm confused.
Great question, I'll try to make a video on this soon. I think I warped the loom and then removed all threads from the Heddle and then threaded 2 in slot 1 in the hole. Hope that helps.
Just what I need. Just wondering about the tie-up. Which threads go on the heddle rod and the Pick-up-stick? Maybe it shows somewhere?
There are 2 threads in each slot. Choose either one for the heddle rod, and be consistent, such as the right thread in each slot goes on the heddle. Hope you that helps.
@@JeneratedDesigns oh, great, thanks, and the pickup stick, is that every other thread in the down position?
Yes, the pickup stick holds the other thread in the slot.
Hello, thank you for posting this video I just got an Ashford rigid heddle loom. Your video will help me getting started.😁
Thanks for watching, I hope you enjoy your new loom!
hello thx for this video, İf you coukd make a video about treading and preparing the loom would be great help. I have a question: Why do you prefer a 1/3 twill weaving? For what purpose? I assume you get a thicker wowen material, as a reault? For example, where will you use this piece of material?
I made a correction in the description it's actually a 1/2 twill as it goes over 1 under 2 threads in each pick. Twill makes a lovely pattern, it's slightly thicker, great for dish towels, but this particular fabric went to making a pillow. I'll try to work on a video of how to warp the loom for twill, thanks for your interest and letting me know what kind of video you would like to see.
@@JeneratedDesigns I thank you for your quick and explanatory respond.. It looks great, will keep wainting and watching your videos.
Could you possibly post the pick up stick pattern, with the rod pattern sequence you used...I'm finding it hard to read the drafts .
I only have one reed for my Heddle loom, so I'm using pick up sticks! 😊
I didn't actually have a pattern for this draft. You will need to warp the loom so that you have one thread in each slot and 2 threads in each hole. Then select one thread from each slot and tie it to the heddle rod. And the other thread from the slot will be picked up by the stick. So shaft one is up position, shaft 2 is heddle rod up, rigid heddle in neutral, and shaft 3 is rigid heddle neutral with pickup stick brought forward and turned on end to create the shed. I hope that explanation helps. I'll add this to my list to create a more detailed video.
Why wouldn't you use a second heddle instead of pick-up stick and heddle rod?
At the time that I filmed this I didn't have a second rigid heddle. You can absolutely use whatever works best for you. Thanks for asking.
