Enjoyed watching you weave and show the process, you have inspired me to try the log cabin weave as my next project, thank you. Yes please more weave designs for the ridged heddle loom please . Jason 😊
Thank you for sharing this video. I can hardly wait to warp my loom tomorrow. Your instructions are very clear and I enjoyed watching the pattern change direction. Dewey fron the Texas Hill Country.
I am trying this, this morning and I have ended up with bit of a mess behind the heddle. I have tried my best to reorient the colour warps from twisting over one another to get to their slots and holes.. there has to be an easier way. I would rather warp each individual strand from the beginning
@JeneratedDesigns thanks for replying! I am very new to weaving. I have also messed up my sett and warp. What I am ending up with is fun however! Its a weft faced almost Krokbragd pattern that I will play with. Saving log cabin for another day and another attempt at warping. Thanks again!
Gotta love that mrrping in the background while you're doing the intro.
Thanks. This is very helpful. I was confused by the written directions I have, and I really want to make a set of placemats in this pattern.
Thank you for explaining and demonstrating the logic cabin pattern on a rigid heddle loom. It looks so hard but you went through each step so well. 🤗😀
Glad it was helpful, happy weaving
Love the video! Fixing to start the pattern. Please more videos. So easy to understand!

I love this pattern, thank you for the video! It is very impressive looking, but a pretty simple weave, the best kind of pattern.

@@JeneratedDesigns some times seeing a weave design being created is better than seeing in on paper, will start my new project next week, thanks

You can definitely do that. It takes a lot of practice. I would recommend doing a short and narrow warp to practice.

@@JeneratedDesigns a narrow sample is the way to go. Great advice.
Thank you!
Your method of warping for log cabin is totally different than the one given on the Ashford blog. I'll have to try it, to see if it's any easier. :)
I'm not familiar method on the Ashford blog, but there are many ways to warp your loom. I hope this method is helpful. Thanks for watching!
Love your explanation! Thank you. I'm weaving a bath towel for a baby using 8/2 cotton. Do you suggest double or single warping?
Depends on what size heddle you are using. I would use 8/2 doubled in a 12 dent heddle and single in. 15 dent heddle.
Thank you!
It’s a 12 dent, so I’ll double.
Great job! Pls what is this design called??
This is a log cabin pattern.
@@JeneratedDesigns it is also akin to draft
I believe so, I always see it listed as "log cabin" as the name of the weaving draft/pattern.
👍♥️
Do you weave with the heddle in the up position through out please thank you
No I change every time between up and down just like normal plain weave. The only thing that changes is which color you use. Hope that helps.
@@JeneratedDesigns thank you for your help ,I see now
Will it work just as well if you start weaving both threads from the same side?
You can start both on the same side, this is just my preference.
What is the finished siz
You can make any size you want. I usually make my towels 18x24 inches.
Thank you❤
