I have been loving your videos! I am a novice weaver, but avid yarn and fiber artist, and I've been bingeing your videos whilst awaiting my loom's arrival! Just assembled and waxed my 24" Ashford loom and can't wait to get it started. It has been 4 years since I've used a Rigid Heddle or floor loom, but your videos have given me a new excitement to try more techniques. Stay safe and well
Thank you, Kelly! I am always looking for lacey patterns. I am putting this one on my list. My 16" Ashford rigid heddle came two days ago. I finished the wood with an oil stain in dark pine and assembled it today. I am waiting a few days before I warp it. I am still reading instructions and viewing TH-cam videos.
Being new to rigid heddle weaving I have been really loving watching your very informative videos. I am an addictive yarn worker so I’m enjoying learning a new way to create with yarn. It is also a great way to use up some of my yarn!!! Thank you for your helpful & clear instructions.
Thank you Kelly. Just came back from Come and Weave in Cambridgeshire UK. Someone mention your name.So I looked you up. Very nice podcast. I also like LENO Weaving. I want to make a cafe curtain for my kitchen. All the best.
Your video is great. I have followed this Leno weave on two scarves and it made them amazing compared to just plain weave. Will shop your Amazon and hope that will somehow support all your great videos. Thank you.
I like it could not really see it until the upclose part but i like it you do such good work have watched a few other people doing this but i don't always understand what they are doing it is not like your video
Hi kelly, so glad you're offering this class. I'm wondering if you will show double weave as well? I want to make a leash for my pup, and the one i want to make needs to be double weave, so the two halves can be separated for a bit of a second handle closer to the pup. I have a store bought one but would love to make her one of my own. Thanks again and looking forward. Joy
I do have a couple of double weave classes - kelly-casanova-weaving-lessons.teachable.com/p/weaving-with-two-heddles/?preview=logged_out kelly-casanova-weaving-lessons.teachable.com/p/doubleweave-baby-blanket/?preview=logged_out
I had never seen this weave before and discovered it by accident when someone put the word Leno down in Words with Friends. I looked it up for the meaning and was fascinated. I might try it. I only have an inkle loom but I use rope heddles to make sheds so I think it would still work if my warp is wide enough.. What do you think. I think I could make some nice hair bands using Leno.
Beautifully explained as usual. Is there a difference in the appearance if you use the closed shed method? I am guessing not. I plan to use this to make a lamp shad cover ( it arrived dented) and curtains, I was so happy to see you explain it, thank you so much Kelly 💕💕💕
This is a cool technique! Any way this could be used with tablet weaving? Maybe it'll be a whole different effect? I think I will have to experiment...
I haven't tried that, I'm not sure how it would work out considering tablet weaving is usually so condensed rather than open and light. But yeah, definitely have a play with it and see if you come up with anything interesting 😊
Thank you , I’m a beginner I like to know how I do it . I have this 10 inches weaving loom . How can be involved in your group or take a class with you thank you
Hi Kelly, Im just doing an article for Ashford wheel magazine on Leno weave. is it ok if I say in it that I used your video to learn the technique and include its title and possibly a link just to let people know where to find it.
Great tutorial! As your weave is thick and looks a little tough to beat, would it be possible to leave the pickup stick in place for that first row and use it to beat with, instead of the heddle? Would that work?
A couple of patterns are the same as classes, but most are projects I don't have classes for. The pattern instructions are written in detail with colour photos, and some have links to additional video resources.
Thank you! Relative novice here, and very much appreciate your clear demos!
You're welcome!
I love seeing the possibilities of different things with a pick up stick. It's excited seeing the different things that can be done with weaving.
Yes, there are SO many options!
Thank you for showing how to weave in Leno. It is nice to have some ways to add interest to woven pieces.
You're welcome Audrey!
Excellent, patient demonstration with clear photography following along.
Thank you!

How exciting for you, have fun!
I love the look of plain weave with the Leno.
I do too, it looks so classy 😊
Excellent tutorial, I’m going to try it!
Great!

Congratulations on your new loom!
Congrats on 1000 members!
Thank you Kevin ❤
Thank you Kelly, I will try this sometime when I haven't already got a project on my loom, it's lovely and you explain it very well.
Thank you!

Thank you Kelly, I love the Italian hemstitch on this Leno, as well as the Leno Lace. Thank you.
I do too, it's so classy!
Another fabulous tutorial, I totally understand the 1x1, 2x2 and open and closed Leno now, thankyou 👍
You're very welcome!
Beautiful! Can’t wait to try it! Thank you Kelly!❤️
You're welcome!
Loved this, I've done Leno before but it's been a while, this was a great refresher! Starting a curtain now.
Great! I'd love to hear how it works out 😉
Thank you for this video. It's very clear how to do this and now I plan to weave some Leno curtain panels for the sidelights on my front door.
That's awesome, I hope they turn out great!
I like it could not really see it until the upclose part but i like it you do such good work have watched a few other people doing this but i don't always understand what they are doing it is not like your video
It’s lovely. I’ll do this on my next project! Thanks 😊
Wonderful! 😀
Just watched this. Thinking I will weave some woven valances for the dining/kitchen windows.
Sounds lovely!
Thank you for making the process so clear. I had been following the instructions in a book and the pictures and instructions were not detailed enough.
Glad it was helpful!
I'm fairly new to weaving but I've really got the bug. Thanks so much for this lovely clear explanation. Can't wait to try it!
You're welcome!
Hola, desde Argentina muchas gracias!!! Recién estoy comenzando y tus videos me ayudan mucho!! Saludos desde Argentina 🇦🇷🥰
Gracias! 😀
I have never done Leno but I think it is very pretty . On my list to try.
It is really lovely, and realistically it's not all that difficult. I hope you do give it a try sometime 😊

I'm not sure, I've never tried it on an inkle loom, but feel free to experiment 😊
Hermoso, me falta mucho para hacer eso que usted hace. Pero el buen animo ayuda espiritualmente lo digo. Gracias.
the twisting part is very similar to "sprang" weaving - apparently it was a viking type of twisting of wool to make bags, hairnets, gloves and socks
Yes, I'm familiar with sprang. I haven't tried it though, have you? 😊
This is what I wanted to see.
very clear instructions thank you
Thanks Sarah!

I haven't actually tried on an open shed, so I'm not sure!
Very clear tutorial. Thank you
You're welcome 😀

Absolutely, thanks Sarah!
That is really cool.
It sure is, lots of fun to weave too 😉

Yes, I have done that before, but I find a follow up beat with the heddle is also helpful 😊
Kelly Casanova thanks-good to know.
I want to try it!
I hope you do 😊
Great weaving thank you for sharing 💟⚘
You're welcome Amira!
Are the things on etsy the same as on the teaching weaving class?
