My grand mother had a restaurant in Bologna before Mussolini. She left Italy as she was outspoken about him, or so the story goes. I hope to go and research were it was and if the building is still standing. She was a fantastic cook!
@@Drunkenstupor just let me know in which part of the city are you going to stay, if you rent a car during your holiday and how many days I will be pleased to suggest you a list of restaurants Meanwhile watch some video of food traveller that came here, I suggest eurotrotter + Bologna
@@quelodequelo thanks I will be staying near Parco della Montagnola just for 4 days Im not really considering renting a car but maybe a regular bike im nervous of all the ZTL areas and getting a ticket for driving into one.
@@Drunkenstupor ok, then I would suggest on the first day to book trattoria del rosso near montagnola. Have some pictures of the bologna window on canal, explore the small street of ghetto ebraico and take your first shot of Bologna towers
@@Drunkenstupor on the second day have your italian breakfast to pasticceria impero. Walk through via indipendenza, have a slice of pizza at pizza altero. Visit piazza maggiore and have a good time in the roman part of the city in via delle pescherie. There you can have salumi, aperitivo buy cheese or taste good bread at Atti bakery, or tamburini, or the food cornner in mercato di mezzo. Go back to have a nap, and if you like to have a dessert consider to stop at gelateria delle moline for an authentic Italian ice cream. For the evening I would try Antica pizzeria Michele
these people have to use their hands to talk. so don't interrupt talking to them while they were working lol. also the New Jersey guy developed an Italian accent so funny
In general, apart from the hugest advertisement of the "Italian cuisine" - their menu food is not very healthy (everywhere its the same: pizza, pasta, bread, dried meat and cheese). I just came back from Italy (two days ago i was in Bologna) and i'm generally dissapointed from the food in general, meaning the offerings in the restaurants! COMERCIAL AND ADVERTISED but average and expensive. I don't know why people are accepting this overexaggerated comercia and advertisement for their (menu) food. I believe that in Italy, there is their local, original way of healthy food with lots of vegetables and fruits, but - what is offered in the restaurants, bakery of caffe, it's just expensive and average. But, most of the tourists can't cook - so average prepared meal means a world to them. Nonsence

It's truly refreshing to know there are still some places left on Earth that people may partake of the joys of a real life!!!

Is it normal for someone to go to another’s country and call them civilized? Like what the actual F?! Rich coming from a North American too.
It was really weird lol

I would very much like to view a documentary about Bologna that is NOT about getting even Fatter by continuously feeding your FACE!
Too much talk, no much food.
