Today we bring you to a food-lover’s paradise: Italy is world renowned for its delicious cuisine but where do the Italians go to eat Italian? Rome, Venica, Naples, Amalfi coat, not quite.
Today we explore the amazing Northern Italian city of Bologna. Bologna, Italy is a culinary traveller’s delight. Bologna is one of Italy’s lesser-known big cities but is one of its more charming. Often left aside on travel plans in favour of more famous Italian cities, such as Rome, Venice and Milan, Bologna has plenty to offer tourists and should not be missed! Bologna is most famous for its Italian cuisine, la cucina Bolognese, (this is where Italians go to eat) and while there are so many options to eat, we spent the day with FICO Eataly World to discover the best Italian food to eat.

The list of things to eat in Bologna is truly endless. Because of its position in the fertile region of Emilia Romagna, Bologna’s food culture is renowned in the whole country and in the whole world! First staple of its food culture, the fresh egg pasta. From Lasagne, to Tagliatelle, but also Gramignia or Tortellini, there is a lot to taste and they’re incredibly tasty. They are sometimes dressed with meat sauce, the famous “Bolognese” called ragù, but also broth or cream. The Italian Bolognese cuisine also heavily relies on pork meat and cheeses coming from the whole region: ham (prosciutto) and Parmesan from the neighbour city of Parma, dried sausage (salumi), or the famous Mortadella, sometimes called Bologna in English. The nearby vineyards provide sparkling white wine such as Pignoletto but also sparkling red wine like the Lambrusco.

@@limonman1716 ti posso garantire che ormai si trovano ottime pizze anche all'estero, le paghi caro ma non hanno nulla a che invidiare alle pizza napoletana. Di contro ho mangiato a Napoli pizze pessime.
@@taddarita75 le ottime pizze all'estero il 90% delle volte sono fatte da napoletani, o con metodi tradizionali di napoli però la maggior parte delle volte si trovano pizzerie che le pizze non le sanno fare. Lo so per esperienza. Potranno essere anche buone, ma l'originale non si batte. Se per esempio trovi una pizza che sembra un friesbie e croccante , quella non è la vera pizza tanto per farti un Esempio.
La miglior pizzeria sta in provincia di Caserta. A Napoli ce ne sono di buonissime però che non hanno niente a che vedere con le repliche di altre regioni, e ovviamente è anche vero che ci sono certe pizzerie che non sono il massimo come ovunque, non mi riferivo a questo però.
È un po come dire che la replica falsa della Samsung, chiamata "Sangsum" non ha niente da invidiare all'originale... non so se mi spiego
@@taddarita75 diciamo che è raro, io mi sono trovato a Londra centro di Londra, Piccadilly Circus, ho mangiato non una ma due Pizze ottime, da un Ristoratore Italiano (Napoletano) e al prezzo giusto. In Italia? C'è l'imbarazzo della scelta parlando di Pizza e non solo, fai 10/15 Km e scopri nuove e stupefacenti varianti dello stesso piatto, ma all'estero credono che l'Italia sia rappresentata in ambito di Food soltanto da alcuni piatti, in realtà anche per noi Italiani è difficilissimo catalogare il numero di ricette, qui non si parla soltanto di cucina Nazionale o Regionale, spesso si varia tra comune e comune.

I'm sure all italians agree with me ... you can't say "the best food here or best pasta, you cannot get better than this" ... so many different local foods in every regions and so many different special dishes with pasta with the best local recipies.

Agree, it would take 10 years for a foreigner to understand how good Italian food can be, would need to move to Italy and spend 2 days a week travelling and eating everywhere. 2 meals x 2 =4 x 52 weeks 208 meals x 10 years 2080, equally divided among all regions. Perhaps 10 years are not enough, unless in those 2 days a week they do also tastings of the 500 cheeses, 300 cured meats, all the breads, the olives, the specialty vegetables, the fish, the meats prepared in 100s of ways, the wines, the sweets etc. Let us say in 10 years they get a slight idea. Fico is a great idea but it is a small selection, it is not true what the lady says “every Italian food is here”, could not be further from the truth, every product in Fico is a selection, they could have chosen 10 others. Somebody who mentions Domino, even only as a joke, is not ready to take this journey.

i was just living in Italy, infact i have a vlog of this going up this week. we were lucky and got to be there for Truffle week which was cool. though i didnt think it was as spectacular as it makes out online, it does seem very much for locals and generally farmers showcases events there, but definitely was a cool experience. Bologna was quite gritty and rough exterior, but food there is great!
Yes, its a bit gritty but the authenticity is there and thats what we loved about it :)

Bologna is not the capital of all italian foods... for example, the real pizza is made in Naples, if you go in other regions of italy is very hard to found the original, they do only a version obviously.
actually it is, every region and city has its different cusine, all of them so good, but we can't deny that Bologna is the birth place of so many italian recepies. So yes Bologna for me is the city that contributed the most to our cusine. I'm not from Bologna.

Italians go eat anywhere in Italy, it is hard to find places with poor value for money
Been to lot of places in Italy but best pizza I ate was in Trieste and Venice.
