HTC removed the One and M from the title because they said 10 represents perfection. Well, personally I would have to say the HTC 10 is not perfect but it’s damn near close.

OK, so your wrong on a few things. First you can adjust the brightness while recording video just like you can while taking an image, with HTC if you tap a darker area on the display while recording video it will brighten the video or image, if you tap a lighter area it will darken the image. Also if you become more familiar with the HTC camera and know how to use it, you'll find it proves much more capable then the S7's camera in most situations. the HTC 10 received the highest score from DXOMARK even higher then the S7. Honestly I have compared the S7's camera to other phones, and I think the LG G5 has a much better camera which takes crisper photos. The HTC 10 is the complete package, you get OIS on the front camera, as well as hi-res microphones which will pick up far more sound in videos or hands free calling then other phones will. HTC pays attention to finer detail like that, you get a great display also with Great speakers, you get a powerful internal amp and DAC for amazing headphone listening experience, you get a durable metal body, ip53 rating, and uh-oh protection to cover any worst case scenarios and even performance issues. the HTC 10 can be given far more storage then other phones, and is extremely customizable in every way. I have mean just look at the phones on the market today they have all copied HTC , all metal body, antenna bands, dual camera sensors, 5MP front camera, opting for lower resolution for larger pixels, front facing speakers, powerful amp/dac with 24-bit audio, live photos, featuring facebook app, the list goes on forever. The S7 is nice yet Samsung is infamous for having performance issues after a few short months of use, while HTC is King of optimization and has a reputation for making, smooth, reliable, consistent performing phones, and innovation for days ! The S7 excels in certain areas, but I find the HTC 10 for be more of the complete package doing just about everything the S7 can do and more.
You have several in correct statements. Tapping lighter or darker areas during video is only adjust the exposure that does not equate to manual controls like that are found on the S7 or S7 Edge. DXo mark said the S7 Edge and HTC 10 tied in terms of rating so it is not better. Galaxy devices have been known to be buggy prior to the Note 5. However, the newest S7 and S7 Edge are incredibly smooth but I do give the upper hand to HTC. Battery life is much better on the S7 Edge I can assure you.
+OT4Tech lol, OK "incorrect or "in correct" first off the S7 hasn't been out long enough for anyone to know how if it has fixed it's performance issues from previous phone models.... Also I never said HTC had manual controls like the S7, I simply said the the image or video can be darkened or brightened depending where you press the display... And HTC placed higher then the S7, they both have the same score 88 but the S7 falls below the HTC according to DXOMARK due to the fact that HTC did better with photo quality which is mainly what DXOMARK looks at. The S7 scored an average of 88 between it's video and photo quality but the HTC scored better with photo quality which put it ahead...
+OT4Tech also the HTC 10 does have a manual setting, called pro mode, which allows you to adjust all the camera settings, and even save them.

You spend the whole video talking about how great the build quality is, the UI is, the lack of bloat, and then actually call it the "King of cellphones" right now (unless you are looking for a better camera and display.) You basically said it's a tossup between it and the S7, and S7E.
Then you complain that they cost the same?
Why does Samsung get a free pass to charge $800-$900 for an S7E, when the HTC 10 actually is a better built device? (FWIW, you can pick up an HTC 10 from Sprint right now for $504 in $22 installments.)
I actually have an S7, but I think it's COMPLETELY unfair to dog HTC for selling their highest end device for the same price or lower than Samsung does with theirs.

I owned the 10 for 4 months now and in every aspect, it's an awesome device, a perfect 10.
It doesn't come with headphones for you folks in the US only. But in exchange of that HTC is offering for US only customers, the "oops" warranty, which means they'll replace your phone once, for free, no matter what you do to it. Outside USA there is no "oops warranty". I live in Europe, and I got HTC's headphones with my HTC 10. I can tell you you're not missing out on much. The included headphones have 13mm drivers, which is HTC's decent attempt to compensate the fact that the headphones are made of plastic. It works to some extent, bu for example the Sony MDR-EX650AP in-ears which are made of brass, and don't vibrate almost at all, sound tenfold better, and are very affordable. So if you're asking me, I would take the "oops" warranty any day, over the factory headphones. The DAC/AMP in this thing is on par with the DAC/AMP I use for my computer, so the sound quality is absolutely mind blowing, but if you want to hear that sound quality, you need to have really good headphones to begin with. What HTC attempted with the included headphones was to bring an entry level experience, of higher quality sound to new owners, who would otherwise not even try to hook it up with higher quality headphones. And I think they succeeded, but make no mistake, if you're serious about sound, you need stuff like the Sennheiser IE 80, or IE 800 if you want to go crazy, or equivalent, or at the very least the Sony MDR-EX650AP, which you have no excuse not to purchase considering how cheap they are. If you like over ear headphones, I highly recommend the Sennheiser HD 25 Aluminium, which is what I tested the phone with, and oh my god does it blow your mind.
:DDDDD sure. I have 100$ in ear phones and 240$ bluetooth headphones (on ear) and I can tell you that there's quite a difference althought both are pretty mid-highend.
To me the s7 just feels like its plastic and a toy. Htc 10 feels like you have an industrial tech advancement

I've owned this phone for about a month now & love it,
I think your review was very honest & informative without the technical bullsh*t.
most of the reviews on you tube are biased towards the reviewers own preferences ie apple samsung etc, me I do think it's the best phone in the world as it does exactly what I need it to do, I'm in construction & everyday I see my colleagues samsung edges iphone 6's being dropped & smashing the screens, no joke at least one a day, i cant remember the last time an HTC m7,m8,m9 or 10 was broken, so defo a very strong phone.

go for the 10, it is more durable and the waterproofing on the s7 is at the cost of a bad speaker performance, so tell me, what happens more? you dropping your phone in the toilet or you listening to music/video? ;)

OK first the S7 has a higher water resistance rating, but both phones are water resistant, but the S7 is pretty much all glass and considering your far more likely to drop your phone and crack it the all metal body of the 10 is better. not to mention HTC gives you 100% free protection for any damages or performance issues for the first year, so if you crack your screen they'll send you new phone. As far as performance goes don't listen to the videos you see on TH-cam they are bias, HTC has just as much power as the S7 but the 10 has less bloatware and HTC is Great at optimizing phones. The HTC has the best cameras and scored higher then the S7 by DXOMARK. The S7's camera is good but not as great as everyone says, the G5 and HTC 10 both have better cameras. The HTC 10 also has hi-res microphones which pick up far more sound and better quality sound at that while recording videos or talking hands free. The HTC 10 is completely customizable in every way, camera, display, layout, etc... The HTC charges faster, runs smoother and more fluid, has better cameras, and equal or better battery life, less bloatware, and amazing audio and sound. You get the complete package with the HTC 10.

Check ur priorities than go for the phone, as long as they are nearly the same
S7 has a better camera, is water resistant, and has a better display
HTC 10 has better audio (including headphone), less bloatware, has an app drawer that is automatically alphabetized (you have to rearrange the apps on the S7 every time), and, from all the tests I've watched, has a longer battery life and quicker charging time

...I've had mine for almost a year now, and I wouldn't trade it for anything made in 2017 - not even a U11! In many instances, I'd be taking a step backwards! I use the living shit out of mine for a wide variety of tasks, such as photo and image editing, music production and sound editing, (some) video editing, audiophile, gaming, business correspondence, and social networking... Almost like having the power of a compact phablet, it still runs strong with zero lag... A great handset for a power user such as me... "The most underrated handset of 2016", they call the HTC 10... Everybody and their brother (and sister) has got either an IPhone or something Samsung, so I don't mind the moniker, being that you don't see too many people with a 10 when you're out and about... You really have to had some hands-on experience, even if it's an introduction to the brand via friends with older models, as I had - to fully appreciate what you are holding! Is it any wonder that there are still those out there using old M7s and M8s as daily drivers?

I still got my m7 and love it.
I bought it, it's great phone. In the package I found greatest headphones ever. Battery will definitely last a day and a half if you have personal life. Loudspeaker is not so loud. if you had m8 or m9 you may be disappointed. It's fastest phone ever. No lag. The call quality is excellent way better than the S7 and S7 Edge.

this is seriously the best phone I have ever owned... and the deal I got with a 2 year agreement.. makes it even sweeter.
the bootloader issue is the only thing that has held me back from getting the s7, and with how slow sammy is at releasing updates, it makes that bootloader issue that much more apparent
I own a HTC 10 for about 3 months. These are the things I dislike.
-NFC not fully functional with all NFC devices.
-Fingerprint sensor does not work when finger is a little bit wet.
(not sure if all phones have this since it's my first phone with fingerprint sensor.)
-Unlock button on the side has rough edges. It even destroyed my smartphone pouch because the button acts like a saw when sliding in and out.

Dude, great review on the HTC 10. I think i will switch over from the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. The HTC 10 seem more like a real nice phone. love the skin on your phone and the music in tje background was the bomb. I love music and i have a set of Audio-Technica head phones that will sound great.

My 10 lacks some things I enjoyed from my One. Really have issue with HTC dropping their browser. Not excited about chrome and Firefox is really aggravating. But, overall good qualities

One major flaw for me. I can't see screen with polarized glasses on. Which immediately made me sale the device.

Watching the vid on the moto x 2014 and I must say their ergonomics are very similar.
It really is a beautiful phone. Looks how it's boxed, such cars and attention to the whole experience for the owner. Still, I really can't decide on one or to wait for the S8. I love my S5. Had it two years and far and away the best phone I've ever owned. I'm gonna need a huge amount of convincing to change brands.

You are so undecided with what you think about the phone.. You said the display can't compare with the samsung's display but it's not far from it and also " it's not gonna get that overly saturated look that you get from a amoled display BUT it's still pleasing on the eyes" , that's just a prefference, you can't say amoled is better than LCD just because you like more saturated images. You pointed out all the advantages advantages of the 10 and in the end you made it sound as if it's worse compared to s7 just based on prefference ( same goes with the camera, if you're gonna say that the s7 camera takes more realistic photos, then why would you prefer amoled instead of lcd since lcd brings more natural colors. ). Also, " TON of features like being water resistant and being IPS certified " ips certified and water resistant are pretty much same thing, where are the many others that form this TON of features?

G5 has a better camera than the S7 and they have the wide angle lens! Reviewers just don't like it because LG used paint on the metal.

just a thought, but you should have talked about call Quality. I've heard several reviewers say it's a bit inferior to other flagships out this year.
wanted this device but HTC shipped it to the wrong address...They were able to retrieve it a week later, but still no device for me yet... At this point I'm over it...Such crappy customer service.

HTC 10 is delivered by default with the HTC High-Res Audio Earphones. I don't know from what you are talking about, but that no headphone is in the package is totally wrong.

Great review, but you didn't say anything about the Call Quality. I was almost buying this phone but almost everywhere its mentioned that Call Quality is poor, that's unacceptable, do you conclude with those reviews?
My 10 is alright I just got a problem with transferring Google Play My Library and my games transfer from HTC to the next

If you have ever dropped your smart phone get htc 10, if not get samsung galaxy s7. The htc 10 can take quite a beating compared to s7. In my use I had samsungs s2,s3,s4 and after that htc one m8. The samsungs didn't last as quick phone even 2 years. Most phones got really slow after one year of use. I still have my m8 it use (with android 6.0 gotta love htc for flagship upgrades

+Billy Routh i used note 5. never lagged. i own the edge now. its been 17 days. i have my phn filled with apps and 13 high graphic games. i use multi window and pop up window a lot. i didnt find any lag yet. only issue i had was with fb messanger (it crashes a lot after i blocked all permissions)

For the audio definitely LG or HTC. Camera probably Samsung, though the V10 has a very good one also. Depends what you value and use most, but I think as a complete package HTC 10 because you get the awesome audio plus a very solid camera too (though not the best). V10 will be cheaper probably, but last year's model and I personally don't like the look of it and its size.

Valdemar Traça Best phone speakers are on Zte Axon 7 and audio output is best on Htc 10.
