Gordon and I went back and forth on a Jiu-Jitsu forum I was admin on a few years ago. We had an argument about his BJJ carrying over to MMA so I asked him how many fights he had? lol
It is a fact, BJJ alone in 2024 will not get you anywhere as you need standup. It is not 1990 with Royce Gracie and the other fighters not knowing BJJs tricks.
@ but, you are talking about in the context of MMA where everyone else is a professional striker and grappler. I’m talking about in the context of an actual fight. Jiu Jitsu is literally all you need. You don’t have to be a pro Level kickboxer to go along with it to be able to defend yourself in an actual fight.
@@dragonballjiujitsu BJJ is great on the ground but it doesn't start on the ground. And if it is not just 1:1 being on the ground exposes you to a soccer kick to the head and its lights out. @@viadharmawheel What you are saying shows a lack of understanding about what actual jiu-jitsu is. I'm not talking about sport BJJ here.
