Ah, but leg locks ARE a part of the 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu system.
The difference is that John Danaher is a 4th-Degree Black-Belt under Renzo Gracie, specilizes in training highly advanced students, and has developed his own system.
Joe holds two bjj black-belts. One in traditional Gracie in-Gi BJJ under Jean Jacques Machado, and one in non-traditional 10th Planet no-gi BJJ under Eddie Bravo.
Joe knows he can learn a tremendous lot from the man across the table, and if you noticed , John ribbed him a bit for being "one of those 10th Planet Black-belts".

Only a mouth-breathing casual would fall asleep to this. This man was hypnotic. When he was breaking down the components of Jiu Jitsu, I got chills down my spine. The dimensions of detail he fleshed out when he analyzed that Cyborg vs Gordon match broke my jaw open. He made Joe Rogan, a black belt & expert on the subject look like a kindergarten student.

This was absolutely amazing. I've listened to you before mention about how dangerous it would be to get into a physical altercation with someone who has MMA experience. Listening to this guy talk in detail about the pure domination of a BJJ black belt on the ground is fascinatingly horrifying -- the detail he goes into explaining every step in the system, I'm blown away. I sat in the car for 45 minutes extra just listening in awe. John Danaher, thank you! More episodes like this Joe!! Always a student!!

From the way he teaches, the way he asks questions to make sure you’re keeping up with what he’s talking about, everything getting broken down to 4 steps, even his tone of voice changes depending on if he’s conversing normally with Joe or if he’s trying to teach him something. I would love to be able to learn from him one day
