      Agreed. There is music for every mood. But even in the apparent chaos of chaotic music, there is a pattern. There is a structure.

    Sort of. Other people in other lands respond differently to what we might call dissonance. A lot of our preference is controlled by what we grew up hearing.

      To a degree, yes. Dissonance it more prevalent in some cultural music. But resolution is always constant. There is a finality to a song. Or, for the sake of artistic effect and to punctuate the meaning of the song, it is left unfinished. But not normal. As far as culture determining preference, no doubt.

      Absolutely! But it is usually not the commanding theme unless the songs purpose is to create a sense of dread, fear, or anxiety in the listener. Easily found as the backing music in horror movies.
