Great lesson! Thanks so much... the visualisation of rests on 1 and 4 in the Hotel California singing was very revealing
I see not so many coments. So just want you to know. You doing great work we really appreciate
Thanks! You're welcome
This helps a lot, thanks man. I was told i skip a beat sometimes while i am singing but i could not notice it. This was very helpful so thanks a bunch!
You’re welcome!
Thank you for this, i have learnt something new today. this is what i have been looking for long time.
That’s great!!
You are a great teacher sir. Well explained. God bless and more power.
Thank you so much for the lesson...I've been looking for such kind of singing lessons since last year as I always used to mess up with singing timing Everytime I used to sing and play my guitar at the same time.
You're welcome!!
Awesome , thanks for the lesson bro
Can we.do it with metronome
If the beat of the song is 4 beats, we’ll sing on every 4 beats of the song?
Very nice, useful lesson! Thanks!
Fantastic
thanks i have this kind of problem i will work on it thank you so much
You're welcome!
Absolutely gold lesson , the best I’ve ever learned! 🙏
This was so helpful thank you so much!
Thank you sir
You're welcome!
Thank you Sir. :)
yeah big help, that nobody mentions in good singing, thanks.
You're welcome!
Exactly lol they left this out like it was nothin bruh.....
Good that you kept the mistake in ,
I thought I was the only with this problem.
One thing that I don't get is how one distinguishes a tempo that is 1234 vs 123. From a counting point of view one can do 123 on a 1234. If the whole song is 1 minute we will have 20 123 sets and 15 1234 sets without any loss of counting. Could you highlight what it is I am missing
You're getting too imersed in the math of it. It's not about the math. It's about the feel. It'a about rythm. Forget the whole song. Do this. Stand up and count 1234. Every time you say "one" step to the left then to the right on every time you say "one". Then when you have done that for a bit, count 123. On the one step forward and backward. Forward the first time you say one, then backward when you say one. Keep doing that in sequence. Incidentally, if you do that and you put your arms out in front of you, someone might step in and you would automatically be waltzing lol!
@@singingfromscratch_official Will do as you suggested.
THANK YOUUUUUUUUUUU :*
You're welcome!
Thanks very much.. though some details was nusunusu😂
He got the point but don't know how to explain. In short,he doesn't know how to emphasize the answers...... Repeating the same thing from lesson 1 till lesson 3 🤣
Anyways its good to see these kind of video, helping some beginner 👍
Can you speak slowly please?!
Very clear tutorial. I have been looking for something like this for a while. Finally I ended up here. Thanks a lot!
Sometimes even if I start in time, uneven pattern of words in the lyrics makes me go off the rhythm. is there an exercise to resolve that?
Thank you!!! I've been looking for tutorials on how to sing in time and your tutorial is the best! Thank you so much!

Thank you. I’m always being told my timing is horrible 😢
Pattern recognition ok
Yep. Pretty much in a nut shell.
I was just listening because I just wanted to learn how to sing on time exercises but well. Thank you so much Sir I have learnt a lot 😊
Would you consider doing a series on keeping good time while playing and singing simultaneously? My timing is fine if I do one thing or the other, but songs that have a different rhythm between the vocals and the strumming really throw me off. For example, I learned a song where the vocal comes in on the fourth beat every time, but the chord change happens on the first beat. It took me forever to get it right, and I have the same problem over and over with different songs!
I hadn't actually, but that is good idea. The core secret or hack to the problem though is basic. Don't think of the two separately, singing and playing. Have you ever sung along with a song and in between phrases, sing the instruments melody? One of the biggest examples would be Sweet Caroline. 'Sweet Caroline - bah bah bah'. Do the same when you play. Sing your guitar part when you aren't singing the song and the two will meld into one in you mind and you will get the timing. Try that.
@@singingfromscratch_official Sometimes I have the same problem. That is great advice
Super useful, always had that problem and never knew how to fix it! Thanks so much for these exercices and examples, it's really easy to follow!
You're welcome!

Thank you so much! :)

After decades, I've been awkwardly making music again. Your topic gave immediate Focus to a musical sense dulled by decades singing at the speakers in my car.
While I have never forgotten the structure of the musical measure, 3/4 vs. 4/4 Etc I had forgotten the *musical rest* as like the mathematical Factor that completes the meter, maintaining the integrity of each measure and thereby the entire musical element. Thank you
You're welcome!
Awesome thanks
You're welcome!
Hey man , I saw your 3 lessons and I am really planning to do some work with that now.
I am good in singing but I have issues singing in time and a lot of other people have suggested me to work a lot with metronome, I saw you didn't mention that much , what do you think about it ? Btw I really like how simple you explain things ...thankss
Sorry for the delay, but a metronome can help, but only with establishing a tempo. Really, it's about the math. Feeling the math. I know that sounds weird, but it fits.
THank you man.
You're welcome!
Before one week I was sing in time but now I cant
Soooo helpful!
Great!
@@singingfromscratch_official Some videos try to explain, but I was unable to make use of them. But I can use this one. Look forward to testing it tonight with my guitar.
Thanks for this.
You're welcome!
Famous monsters for life!
How do you recognize a 34 beat and a 44 beat
Is it always 1,2,34? I'm so confused. When an instrument starts playing, I feel lost. I don't know when to sing.
Nope. It can be 1,2,3 as in a waltz like Take It To The Limit by the Eagles. Listen to Addicted To Love by Robert Palmer. The bass drum is hitting on 1 and 3. The snare is hitting on 2 and 4. In the Eagles tune the bass drum is only hitting on 1.
Great exercise!
Thanks!!
Actually,I turned this series into a free mini-course at www.singingfromscratch.com
great
Quarantine has brought about our singing hobby
such a fantastic teacher,i bet you could give some very good guitar tutorials also, thank you
Thanks so much! It's on the agenda
I’ve been a musician for 20+ years and I’ve always had rhythm from playing guitar but could never sing in time in with my own songs.
You’ve cleared up everything, phenomenal job. I now hear where I’ve been going wrong!!! Lol
Thank you !!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks so much! Glad I could help.
This really helped
