So excited y’all are back!!! This was awesome!! I am 51 and right handed and my mother still tells me to watch that knife or I’ll cut myself. Do more of these please!
My mom was a die-hard stan of Elvis. He did no wrong in her eyes. She passed his records down to me. Makes me miss her every time i see them. 50 degrees here in illinois feels like summer to me 😅
Oh no! My aunt who was born in 1952 is also left handed. I once ran across a yard sale for a left handed club and bought her one of every left handed gadget they have.
Elvis is Everywhere - by Mojo Nixon is one of the coolest songs about Elvis I ever heard. There is a sign on a signpost here in town that signifies a spot where Elvis got out of his car and stopped a fight one time
Modern pecan pie is indeed gross. It's way, way, way too sweet. You might as well cut out the middle man and just chug the high fructose corn syrup straight out of the bottle. Max Miller did a pecan pie a while back that cuts way back on the sugar and he liked it a lot. Been meaning to try that recipe but, to date, I've never had a pecan pie that wasn't sickly sweet to the point of making me ill.
Call me a bad southerner, but I'd rather turn off the TV than watch any football, college or otherwise. I have no use for it. Also, I've never had puh-CAHN pie, but I LOVE PEE-can pie. That gooey filling is SOOO comforting. It's the comfort food of dessert.
I'm a born and bred southerner, but I have to agree with you on this one...I love the good and do NOT like the pecans or the crust. Actually, I don't like any kind of crust on anything! 😜
I've got a story about the whole college football being overrated thing. My Southern Momma (my ex-MIL who pretty much adopted me) came to visit us up north recently. While we are aware of college football, pro football is more the thing up here and that was what was on Sunday while she was here. Momma told me that the guy she married (which would be my ex's stepfather) is no fan of football at all, and that just blew my mind. (BTW, Momma stomps for Alabama and even gave me an Alabama sweatshirt for Christmas the year before last, so I feel obligated to watch their games.)
Here's how to make sweet tea: use tea leaves or tea in a bag, or however else. Brew the tea. Whatever amount you want to have in your pitcher or your jug. Put in the desired amount of sugar WHILE HOT. then put in ice to cool it down. Or keep it in the fridge if you don't like ice.
Thank goodness I love you ladies because Elvis is divine and I would give anything to have tea and cornbread with you as we discussed this topic with spirit. Your Mama was right!
College football is more entertaining because the players are still trying their hardest to move up. It seems like once players hit the national teams they get lazy as they have already "made it."
I've had sugarless cornbread. It's bland and sometimes (rarely though) downright disgusting. I guess it mostly depends on how you grew up. If you grew up on Jiffy cornbread, then you want a little bit of sugar added.
@@privacyvalued4134 polite disagree 😅 I think jiffy is great on it's own. But if you want to be fancy you can add cheese and jalapenos. Just not sugar for my family.
My mother was MAD for Elvis, and I (from age six through eight) got dragged to his movies. Then she cranked the soundtrack from Blue Hawaii, learned to hula. My father was underwhelmed by Elvis and by my mother's fan-girl demeanor. I dislike Elvis, to put it mildly 🖖🙏
College football IS indeed overrated and I will happily give up my southern card if they'll just take it off TV every stinking Saturday from August to January. It takes up the ENTIRE channel line up. Give them their own channel and keep it off the major networks.
Sweet grits can be good IF you know how to make them right. I recommend fried cornmeal mush. (Horrible name I know) Cook your grits and add butter, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and any other spices you want. You can also mix in some dried fruit like raisins. Pour it in a greased loaf pan and let it set overnight. Pop it out in the morning and slice it however thick you want it. Fry in butter and serve with powdered sugar and maple syrup.
YAY, my favorite Southern channel is back.
Diane and Donna are the queens I needed to see todaaaayyy❤
Grandma’s using butterscotch lol
Diane not knowing how to make sweet tea is shocking!!!
The secrets are out!!!
How hard is it? Brew tea, add a simple syrup to taste. The end.
I know a British guy that doesn't. Still shocking
So excited y’all are back!!! This was awesome!! I am 51 and right handed and my mother still tells me to watch that knife or I’ll cut myself. Do more of these please!
I sat back in my chair just a bit for the look, checking for a switch.
I so enjoyed this episode
I love these two ladies.
My mom was a die-hard stan of Elvis. He did no wrong in her eyes. She passed his records down to me. Makes me miss her every time i see them. 50 degrees here in illinois feels like summer to me 😅
The look! I about fell out of my chair.
Oh no! My aunt who was born in 1952 is also left handed. I once ran across a yard sale for a left handed club and bought her one of every left handed gadget they have.
Reminds me of Ned Flanders' Leftorium in the Springfield Mall ( The Simpsons ).🙃
Glad you guys are back! I’d really like to see more of Talia’s Kitchen or like a scenario where they’re on a trip & it’s like a show.
When's your next short film thing coming out?
And i love the last line! I'm not either!!😂
Soon! maybe even next week! Things haven't been finalized yet!
Elvis is Everywhere - by Mojo Nixon is one of the coolest songs about Elvis I ever heard.

I can somewhat forgive not knowing how to make sweet tea, but not knowing how to make cornbread?! I never thought I’d hear those words.
We listen and don't judge!
Two southern momma giving me the LOOK back to back - I feel so guilty I'm so sorry ma'ams I'm gonna go call my momma now.
You should try my sister's cornbread. It's sweet and makes a great dessert or breakfast treat.
I miss The Church Ladies of Burndale! Cheers!
omg so do we!
My mom made Pineapple Salad. She made it with the same ingredients as Pear Salad.
I miss Georgia. It has enough seasonal changes for me. Moved back down to Florida because of family.
OMG Ladies!
I would NEVER take y'all's southern cards.
I Love You 💖
No sugar in grits. Jalapenos in corn bread.

i love sugar in grits. but I'm a Yankee :) (but I LOVE collard greens cooked Southern !!)
"We're not one-take wonders." I don't think anyone really is. That's what B-roll and post-editing is for.
@@privacyvalued4134 agreed!
I put sugar in my cornbread. I'm from Wisconsin, so it's not my fault.
CHOCOLATE pecan pie is better than regular pecan pie ❗🙃🥧

3:30 grits yes, corn bread
AAAWWWWW. HHEEEEELLLLLL NNNAAAW
Pear salad sounds extremely scary - and gross to the max! Who invents stuff like that, yikes?

Pecan pies are disgusting when made according to Kayro syrup recipe. When you cut the sugar by 30-40%, they get better.
My college football team is whoever Alabama is playing against.
You and Ryan would be best friends!
@@ItsaSouthernThing my name is Ryan as well. Two peas in a pod…
If you cannot sweet tea, it invalidities your dislike of Elvis. Even I can make sweet tea.😂😂
Pear salad for the win all day long!!!!
I just want out in the snow in 10 degree Fahrenheit weather and nearly laughed my butt off at the comment about under 50 is too cold. LOL
IT'S A SOUTHERN THING IS BACK! :)
Good episode!!
Wo HOO!! IAST IS BACK !!!!!
BACK LIKE WE NEVER LEFT FOR CHRISTMAS BREAK!
More of this.
My mom fixed cottage cheese and pears, pear half on lettuce leaf with cottage cheese on top. Didn’t know it’s called pear salad.
I HATE cold weather. I'm a Georgia Peach, I frost easily! 😆
I never knew I was eating pear salad. It was just something I had to choke down before the main dish
and now you know! #knowledgeispower 🤣
This is a Chuck Berry household

As a bona fide southern woman, them grannies are wrong about sugar not belonging in cornbread. Bless their hearts!

PREACH!
Saying Elvis is overrated is blasphemy. Y'all take that back right now. 🙈🙉😱
I strongly agree with Elvis being over rated and sugar not belonging in cornbread.
We got one!!!!
I don't understand.
You are wrong!
About?
How dare you????!!! Never mention the king and the word overrated not even in a 15,000 page book! Handle this.
Wife from Ohio, Jawja boy here; opposites attract.
We like to agree to disagree, on a friendly basis.

Mom... chill out 🤣🤣🤣
I know how to make sweet tea but I make my cornbread with the Jiffy mix.
I like elvis.
Pecan pie is gross?! From a northerner pecan pie is delicious!
Left handed also - don’t know how to cook or sew - “too dangerous”!
Then wouldn't that be called 🤔 cream of wheat?
Blasphemy! Elvis is an entity unto himself, neither under or over rated. ;-)
Pear salad is 🤢
I prefer the Beatles over Elvis. I liked his movies which tells you how bored I was when they came on tv
You’re not American. Or from this planet.
College football IS indeed overrated and I will happily give up my southern card if they'll just take it off TV every stinking Saturday from August to January. It takes up the ENTIRE channel line up. Give them their own channel and keep it off the major networks.
Pear salad is gross revolting and disgusting
Sugar DOES TASTE GREAT with grits AND cornbread ladies!🫵🏻👍🏻
EXTRA BUTTER! And lumpy!🤤
I haven't tried sweet grits, but I love sweet cornbread with lots of butter!
YESSSSSSSS!!!!!!😋🤤
All football sucks. I'm in my 70s. I used tp rent a PA sustem to a school. I would sit in my truck and watxh TV ibstead of the game.

What about adding honey to cornbread?🤔 🌽🍞 🐝
Pee Can. There.
