@ItsaSouthernThing I used to live waaaay out in the desert and worked 24hr shifts on the ambulance, and the entire top five of my Life's 10 Unforgettable Moments was coming home after a particularly trying shift to find half a skunk...the business end...dragged through the doggy door and placed on my couch. The dogs were _much_ more pleased about it than I was.
@@ItsaSouthernThingHappened to have some with me when I went to El Salvador for the first time, in December 2001, and met my youngest sibling-in-law, age 6½. He played with it constantly - popped bubbles with his elbow, his knee, his fingers, his foot, his baby nephew's foot. Now grown (29) and with a child the same age he was when we met, he's grown quite accustomed to me randomly presenting him with a bit of bubble wrap and telling him I brought him a present 😂.
Sketch Cobbler is very quickly becoming one of my favorite parts of the week! I'm not a parent but I do have a niece and nephew and one of my favorite videos of my niece is of her tearing apart a paper bag when she was a little over one year old! She was having a blast, and the look of pure CONCENTRATION on her face was more prominent than that from any of the super expensive educational toys I've gotten for her!
Hilarious! And so true. I think Aunt Ray Ray should have done an old cardboard box toy. That would have been the source of entertainment for years. Especially if it’s big enough. It would have brought in millions 😁
We bought a large appliance that came in a box. What did we do with it? I decorated it, cut out a window and a door, and made a raised A-frame roof. My then 4yo granddaughter had a blast for months. We loved playing in it. Best toy ever!!
I loved the addition of actual bells and whistles to "empty toilet paper roll,"' and that this was the downfall of the company. And that a company created to be anti-easily forgotten, wasteful consumer products created ... actual consumer waste as products. Hilarious.
My mother tells the story of my older sister opening a present, seeing the box and jumping up and down yelling "it's a box, it's a box." The friend of the family that got it for her said. " I could have saved a lot of money."
The pet toy "used tissues" had me almost peeing my pants!! 😂 it's a personal growth challenge to NOT leave any paper towel within reach around my house. This was great, guys! Well done 👏 👍
Absolutely brilliant I almost cried from laughter. I was just surprised you didn't do " empty box" lord knows that's all my kids ever actually played with
Great sketch! We have a 13-month-old. And we have that activity square and the steering wheel toy shown at the beginning of the sketch. But they don't compare to an empty water bottle. Empty water bottles are the best!
Costs a tad more, but my one year old's favorite toy currently is a computer mouse that he scoots around the house like a toy car (he has plenty of toy cars, he wants the mouse). Only downside is that his favorite mouse is the working computer mouse, not the non-functional one that was explicitly given to him.
I keep waiting for my son to age out of that, but he hasn't quite yet. His bio father had a birthday party for him for his 9th birthday, and he got a bunch of toys. When he got home he was like, "Mommy, guess what my favorite present is...." I thought for sure it would be one of the Lego sets, but no, it was one of the gift bags. It was his favorite color. And he proceeded to show me the myriad of things he could do with it.
My dog has lots of store bought toys. But he gets most excited when I toss a water bottle or an empty toilet roll at him. So I made a super special toy: I took an empty paper towel roll, a couple of empty toilet paper rolls and an empty water bottle to make The Best Toy Ever! I squeezed the bottle just enough to insert into the paper towel roll. Then I put the 2 TP rolls over the ends of the towel roll (they slid on tightly). Then I tossed the new toy on the floor. He loved it and played with it for about a month, which is a world record. You should market that!
Bravo! Made me laugh out loud! I will now forward this to both of my daughters, one of whom has a five-year-old girl, and the other, who is pregnant with her first.
THIS. WAS. HILARIOUS! I nearly spit out my drink when Talia said their brilliant break through was ... A WATER BOTTLE! My new grandbaby is NUTS for empty water bottles! Especially if it is half full of water, or has a few beans rattling around inside. AND I JUST GAVE HER AN EMPTY TOILET PAPER ROLL TODAY! 😂💀 Y'all are BRILLIANT!
I work in a deli. Whenever we a roll of bags runs out, I take the tube home. It's like a toilet paper roll, but much stronger. You'd be surprised how much kids will fight over something like that.
I am sitting outside after work at 230am Ontario Canada laughing so hard the neighbors must think I've gone mad. ❤ your Scetch Cobbler series is so well done and absolutely hilarious, thanks to all your hard work
I love Adam's character who acted like he got burned out on the whole fashion scene so he went back to basics with babies and the accent! Y'all crack me up with the sketch cobbler skits
This was amazing - so well thought out and incredible that you made it so fast. Also, Adam's accent as Tonothan? I'm English and I was bowled over by how good it was :)
Hilarious!! A favorite video of my firstborn is of him at about a year old sitting between a pile of brightly colored toys and a bunch of canned veggies - his back to the toys, totally engaged with the cans, stacking and rolling them!
2:39 I just LOVED seeing The never-before-seen ACTUAL footage of the moment they realize Empty Toilet Paper Roll was going to be a hit. I feel so honored in being able to witness The greatest invention since fire. Personally, I think it was that greedy cartel of toy companies that made Aunt Ray Ray's go bankrupt. You call me a conspiracy theorist if you want but I will always believe that 😡😡
I still have fond memories of getting the dishwasher box to play with. It was epic, at least it was to my four year old self. I also enjoyed a broken alarm clock and one of Mom's old squash balls. Mud was another I loved to play with. Kids like what they like.
Loved it! ❤ Belly laughing all the way through!🤣 Excellent production quality too! And a nice awww moment at Talia and her baby pic. ❤ Looking forward to more of these! 😂
The fuzzy, slightly corrupted VCR video bits really sell it. What you needed though was a bit where the team acted like children while playing with the products and then immediately pretended to be adults whenever the CEO walked into the room. Then cut to the CEO playing with the toys as well, spotting the camera, and then chasing down the person who was recording the video.
Absolutely genius! Your brainstorming and improv that led to this skit is a work of art. The idea to "keep it simple" is spot on. #welldone (almost up there with the SEC Shorts episode on Vandy's win over you-know-who)
A most delicious sketch cobbler. The "bells and whistles" toy is exactly what my mom would have bought for her nephews (part of a long running feud started by my uncle giving me makeup for my third birthday) IF it had only been on the market in the 90s!
Aunt Ray Ray can make a comeback with pet products! As a parent of cats, myself, they are just as dumb as babies. Fancy feather string toys and crinkly tunnels? Waste of money! They're happy with milk caps and hair ties! (Side note: I just noticed Tonathan's last name on my second watch!)
I literally had a friend stay for about 5 days just a week ago and the baby picked up an EMPTY WATER BOTTLE! She chewed on it and played with it for hours! 😂😂
Hilarious! All I kept thinking was Aunt Ray Ray should have started a toys for pets line but I am thinking Tonathan was thinking that all along anyway. You just needed to add a Pawper Towel Roll line. 🤣🤣
LOVED IT! Your sketch is genius. ❤❤❤ Back in the day, I think the company had stiff competition from Granny's Fay, Fay's peg basket. But once Granny launched, 'Car keys,' there was no going back. I believe she's a multimillionaire now and has the franchise, 'Tot's R us.'
That was fun, but still wishing for more Disney Princesses....That was one of your very best!! Maybe we can see "Disney Princesses become Moms" 😀Thanks for another entertaining video.
Couple of years ago I purchased a new washer and dryer. Specified I wanted them delivered In The Box. I gave the neighbors 8yo grandson one of the boxes. He took to it immediately! He makes sure he puts it back in the garage afterward. Leaves most other toys in yard after playing 😂
I have 8 rescue cats and when people visit, I have to tell them, if you see a piece of garbage on the floor, it's probably a cat toy. I mean, it's garbage, but the cats are using it as a toy. I have daily prescription eye drops that come in plastic tubes, they love to carry the empties around & toss them like they toss mice. My hair bands, candy wrappers, and of course yarn. So yeah, same taste in toys .
A free idea for Tonathan's new pet line: "Gross unidentifiable thing from the yard". It's a huge hit for the pup in our house.
Right under "Dead roadkill you don't want in your house."
and the full bathroom paper roll for kitten line . This could get expensive but he could make millions.
@ItsaSouthernThing

Best part of this: Seeing an actual photo of our Queen Talia of her with her new born. Adorable!
I loved all the babies and littles, TOO CUTE. Mine are teenagers now and I miss the ability to amuse them with the wrapping paper and box....
Bubble wrap would've saved Aunt Rayray from bankruptcy.
If only they knew...

Paired with packing peanuts and the foam that breaks in into BB sized pieces and sticks to everything 😂
Or the coveted "Empty Box" ;)
My 1-year-old niece discovering bubble wrap is one of my favorite memories.
“…with bells and whistles” had me. I don’t know why I thought it would’ve been anything other than bells and whistles😂
Two things I love:
1. Sketch Cobbler
2. Tonathan is basically British Gru
I never noticed the eerie similarity between babies and my cat before. He's far more interested in what the toy came in than the toy itself.
I'm a big fan of Tonathan's crowning achievement in cat toy technology "Empty Packing Box". Cats across the nation went ape spit for them.
If it fits, they sits.

Read that just as my kitty ran into her current favorite box tossing her mouse toy. Perhaps branching into pets could've saved them 😔.

I would like to invest in Aunt Rayray , and do a relaunch. Sticks from the yard will be the next big thing.
for BOTH the baby and the pet toy lines!
And rocks! And leaves! 😂
My oldest put some legos in a small water bottle. We tried to remove the legos but they are stuck. That now is my youngest favorite rattle.
I loved the addition of actual bells and whistles to "empty toilet paper roll,"' and that this was the downfall of the company. And that a company created to be anti-easily forgotten, wasteful consumer products created ... actual consumer waste as products. Hilarious.
The documentary style epilogue is off the charts perfect!! 🤭👏👏
The ending, "honestly, we should have made a documentary about that" 🤣
The sketch cobblers are so well done! This was clever and entertaining. Very impressed by the creativity! More please!

This is no mockumentary babies actually love this stuff.
I've been laughing through the entire skit. The babies are absolutely adorable.
The pet toy "used tissues" had me almost peeing my pants!! 😂 it's a personal growth challenge to NOT leave any paper towel within reach around my house. This was great, guys! Well done 👏 👍
And the empty Quaker oatmeal canister 🏆😂🎉
I love the over exaggerated acting in the ad lol

We're convinced all babies do this to mess with us adults.
@@ItsaSouthernThing well they do say babies are just tiny scientists and we are their test subjects

I'm an early intervention occupational therapist and this is literally my life ;) I love it so much...
Treating children like hourly employees 😂😂😂😂 lovely lol
Nephew's first birthday - he ignored ALL the presents and played with a bow from a gift and a plastic clothes hanger.

That was really funny! I love that you mentioned the same concept for pets at the end because i was thinking that the whole time
I love Adam in this one. It's nice to see the whole team in this one.
I have six grandchildren these toys are the best. This was great.
A spoon and some pans was all the entertainment my kids needed.
Been feeling sick for the past three days and this sketch cobbler has made everything just a little bit better, thank you so very much

No joke, we have pictures of my daughter with her favorite toy, an empty, cleaned out milk jug. She loved them. We always had them around.
Add some peg type clothes pins and you have an "educational" toy as they practice inserting the clothes pins. and then dumping them out.
