I just booked the tsi highline plus variant and it does have the front centre arm rest. Practically thinking, Push to start button is of no use...and personally not a lover of this feature. Back camera could be provided but thats ok..it has 4 sensors at back which does the job nicely. Moreover I don't think hatchback requires a back camera. So it has everything that actually matters including many cool and practical features which are missing elsewhere. frankly speaking but we indian are actually more into asthetical and mileage needs rather than safety, suspension and build. And this car focus on practicality not fancy looking things which you'll get bored after sometime. And about the mileage: while on test driving, apart from checking for turbo fun and all it showed 14.3 kmpl. Then I decided to drive the vehicle on the highway with light foot (i.e under 2000 rpm on 6th gear with a speed around 80-90). It showed 25.3kmpl reading. Then I drove in mixed condition (light traffic/turbo/braking). It showed 20.2 kmpl after a 15 kms drive. So mileage depends on you. A car manufacturer that claims 20 mileage could give to 15 if you drive rudely. So on concluding I would say that on average it will easily give you around 16-20 mileage. Apart from that I also test drive ford aspire petrol. The car is good in solidity, does have inbuild navigation, back camera and 6 airbags but i felt underpowered,arm rest is missing and instrumental cluster is a bit smaller and way to simple. If they could provide a turbo engine with arm rest I still would have choosen it. So finally I decided to go with polo. One more thing i want to say that services are not high. I looked at some bills of polo owner. The third major service at 15000kms which is labour free cost around 6k and later including labour cost is between 7-8k unless replacement or changing of spare parts is required which is somewhat costlier because mostly are imported. Like in other cars the servicing is necessary at every 5000 kms which cost you around 3-4k. Whereas polo service at 15000kms and comparatively considering I dont think is expensive. But let see how well it will perform with me.

There is no car in the market that a perfect combination of Quality, Fit and Finish, Safety, Paint, Well Engineered Turbo Petrol Engine and Snob Value. Once you own a Polo you cannot settle for anything less than T-Roc, Karoq, Kushaq or Taigun.

This is anyday the best car one can get. Timeless design. What you get in this is worth much more than than the so called features the other tin can cars can give....
The new platform is expensive and the car to is bigger. Localization dosen't justify the cost as the volume is not great. And the Polo too will be expensive. Just some of the reasons. As for the other two.. 🤷♂️

I don't think that saying it doesn't need to be updated helps either lol because at the most it's pandering to the brand and not really helping the consumer by much. @@yoaashay hey man. I absolutely agree with you. It is an old car, period. However, the virtues, values offered by the Polo are still unique in the space. Its really hard not to make a case for it if someone priorities build quality and driving manners. If there was a car which could better these aspects, then it (the Polo) would become a redundant model. Till then, it still remains a fun little car. @@nabeelkhan4878 I know that the Polo has good build quality and driving dynamics, but if the price was lower it would be slightly more vfm. And for a lakh or two more, you can get a mid spec Skoda Rapid (which I have test driven btw) and for that you're getting a bigger car with decent features and at a lower price than a City or a Verna. I just hope VW doesn't discontinue the Polo and the Vento like it did the Jetta and the Ameo. It just seems like VW isn't interested in selling new gen cars here if they're not an SUV or the Passat.

Volkswagen GT TSI is a compact hatchback, but its less legroom is a put-off.
One thing is for sure: The pros outclass the 'so called' cons.
The offered touch screen is more than enough!
